McCain camp says Obama's still 'The One'

[cnn-photo-caption image=
caption="The McCain camp released “The One: Road to Denver” Web video Friday."] (CNN) - The One has returned.

John McCain's campaign released a sequel to its Web video about presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama that used footage of Charlton Heston as Moses parting the Red Sea, images of light streaming from the heavens, and a gospel choir to paint Obama as an arrogant politician who bought into near-messianic hype over his candidacy.

They're all back "by popular demand," according to McCain spokesman Brian Rogers - along with new footage of Obama bodysurfing on his recent Hawaiian vacation - in the latest release.

On a day when coverage of the presumptive Republican nominee has been dominated by his inability to immediately recall how many homes he owns, his campaign is hoping that "The One" can save the news cycle.

Earlier: 'They will call him The One,' says McCain Web ad

In 'The One: Road to Denver,' House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is quoted calling Obama "a leader that God has blessed us with at this time," and a recording of Virginia Governor Tim Kaine - a top Democratic VP prospect - is played in which he expresses relief that Obama's call for a cease-fire in Georgia has been heeded.

"His hand guides the world," says the announcer.

"...In Denver, you will see the light," the announcer says later. "He may be 'The One,' but is he ready to lead? No."

Don't the republicans have any messages at all??? We know Barack isnt God but he'll be the best choice for president by far and there's no doubt about that. This country does not need a 72 year old running this country–wouldnt our enemies love that –why do you think Russia went into Georgia??????? HMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!

The Republicans are playing with Fire. Calling OBAMA the one and using Religious undertones that is meant to disparage show their disdain for the word of christ and how they are using the canotation out of context. Using it to disparage OBAMA is crazy, OBAMA will release McCain ads targeting him as the one who say anything to get elected, they have done it for decades, the GOP/RNC, this time CHANGE will take place from the bottom up and not the top down like the GOP is use to!

MCCAIN-LIBERMAN is nto the change the world seekk!

  8. Oh Boy!!!???

This makes me want to vote for Obama just to see if all the "beLIEvers" will rise up off the face of the planet all at once.

That would leave all of their real estate to us to convert to temples in which to praise "OUR GOD".

I got dibs on Johnny's biggest house.

    Bring on the Antichrist, please.

  10. Funny stuff

"Squeezer: If McCain could get past his fascination with "ONE" maybe he could count how many houses he owns. (Hint for ya John: It's more than ONE"

Very witty comment, I like it. It's like when Obama was posed the question about going back to Iraq.

Obama said, "if Al Qaeda came back to Iraq after we withdraw, after American troops are withdrawn, then I would send military troops back if Al Qaeda established a base in Iraq.

McCain said, "Al Queda is in Iraq. It's called 'Al Queda in Iraq'" . Whoops 🙂

Obama talks about McCain's not remembering how many homes he has, the fact that McCain thinks you have to make over $5 million to be rich, and McCains stances on the economy and his foreign policy (start a war). Americans are losing their homes, their jobs, and paying outrages prices for gas and groceries. People are in desperate need for help and all McCain can give us is "Obama is The One"...c'mon...are you kidding me? We have serious issues...we need a serious person to help us out. I for one can't afford to play these stupid games with my future and the future of my family...I am voting Obama.

These ads are lame and stupid, and potentially offensive to any number of viewers. The fact that the McCain campaign fails to see what is offensive speaks volumes about the type of people providing input, and is the best argument as to why Senator McCain should most definitely not lead our country.

McCain is bound and determined to run the most despicable presidential campaign in history.

I wouldn't trust this man to run my garbage disposal.

According to these ads, Obama must be running for the lead in the next Matrix movie. Someone send the Republicans a message that he is running for president. This is not money well spent–just like some of the tax breaks for wealthy, take the jobs overseas, corporations.

Yes Barack Obama is The One. Nobody will vote John McLucifer. Republicans want to use religion? Well I guess Obama should start calling McCain by the name John McLucifer.

This is so sick. Senator Obama seeks God and everyone knows that he depends on God because it was posted all over this site. Senator McCain is a cheat and what he is doing is as old as he is. It is so sad that people are moved by such crazy tactics. Why cannot we stick to the issues at hand. I am ready for this to be over.

HOPE is still alive and well in the person of Barrack Obama.
We have been put through so much pain and agony by Bush and the Republicans.

We have suffered high gas prices, mortgage melt downs, economy down turns but amidst all this Hope always prevails.

Vote for change, Vote for prosperity, Vote Democrat, Vote Obama.

Even better than the last one, directly showing just how ludicrous Obama sounds sometimes. Lighting coming down to shine on people? What is Barack smoking?

I mean, seriously, do we need a president with a messianic complex? Do we need a president who is more interested in building his cult of personality than actually affecting real change and working to improve our economy and our standing in the world? Some of the people commenting on this blog might drink the kool-aid, but I won't.

Adam LA, that is an excellent point. It would be interesting to hear Pastor Warren's position on McCain's use of blasphemous advertising for political purposes.

Please report on it CNN, including Focus on the Family and other religious organizations. Your Christian viewers would appreciate it.
