VP tracking: Obama, Kaine meet

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/08/21/art.obamakaine.ap.jpg caption="Obama and Kaine met privately Thursday."]

(CNN) - For those in the business of examining each of Barack Obama's moves for a potential hint of who will be named the Democratic VP, buzz circulated after the Illinois senator held a private meeting with Virginia Governor Tim Kaine and his staff Thursday morning.

Watch: Ed Henry on the Obama VP pick

Both men were mum on what was discussed, and Kaine - considered to be among those at the top of Obama's VP shortlist - wouldn't comment on whether he was offered the coveted position.

"I'm going to let the campaign speak for the campaign," Kaine said, and later refused to indicate whether he had been ruled out for the position. "He visited with my staff just to basically say hi to them and thank them for all their hard work."

Obama spokeswoman Jen Psaki said the presumptive Democratic nominee also took a photo with Kaine's staff before the two headed to a campaign event in Chester, Virginia.

    The "surge"...lies wrapped in lies.

In December 2005 there were about 160,000 U.S. troops in Iraq.

In March of 2006 there were about 133,000 US troops in Iraq.

Troops were then reduced to about 127,000 in July of 2006.

Then the much-touted "surge" – and troop levels reached around 162,000 troops in Iraq in August of "07.

Now, tell me: Is going from 160,000 down to 127,000 then back up to 162,000 a "surge", or merely an attempt to recover from yet another premature "mission accomplished" boner?

lolll...The net peak gain of 2,000 extra troops – in a nation with porous borders and a population of 27.5 million? THAT was the "real" reason for the better conditions in Iraq, now

Obama visiting someone could mean he is telling them it's a 'No'
He's gotta be laughing at all of this.

And for those of you who are telling Hillary to go away and for her supporters to get over it .. you need to get over it because without Hillary HE WILL LOSE! She gives him his only chance.

  12. Sorry You Didn't Make The Cut

With Warner being selected to give the opening speech at the DNC, Kaine's hopes of being the VP slectee are almost null.......and I think that is what Obama is saying to him in the picture.

After reading the negative blogs about Obama, I have to say this. The problem with America is that we are threatened by an intelligent, cool, and wildly popular. Simply insane with jealousy and hate. Obama graduated #1 from Harvard, he is extremely intelligent, and that's what white America is threatened by, especially white men. Get over yourselves, when something is predestined, there is nothing mear mortals can do do stop it, just ask Hillary Clinton!

How can Barack Obama watch as his half brother lives in slums and not help him? Can any of you Obamabots answer how the man God sent down to us to lead this country can do that as a human being?

You people still don't get the point, it's your last chance to get this right. Let's talk experience Pres Bush, Gov from Texas okay now im confused did America vote for his Father or him? If you voted for him you screwed up, admit it. Rep or not your vote was as good as toilet tissue. I would say that Obama is the lesser evil if he screws up, get him out of office. America you have rights, ask Mr. Mc Cain and Mr. Obama if after 1 year on the job they break any of there promises if they will step down? American have left your life up to the Politics, if you are dumb enough to do this than you get what you get. What about drugs, murders and the other crimes committed against American citizens at home? You only want to hear what you want to hear, well here's the truth you voted for G.W. Bush so you get the full package, high gas prices, bad economy, Kids coming home in body bags or mamed for life and no respect. What is the solution for Georgia and Russia? let them fight it out in the end they don't care about us, remember Iraq?

Obama has only one choice to bring this once sure thing Democratic party back to a win in November. Hillary is his only chance, as much as some people may dislike the idea.
