VP tracking: Obama, Kaine meet

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/08/21/art.obamakaine.ap.jpg caption="Obama and Kaine met privately Thursday."]

(CNN) - For those in the business of examining each of Barack Obama's moves for a potential hint of who will be named the Democratic VP, buzz circulated after the Illinois senator held a private meeting with Virginia Governor Tim Kaine and his staff Thursday morning.

Watch: Ed Henry on the Obama VP pick

Both men were mum on what was discussed, and Kaine - considered to be among those at the top of Obama's VP shortlist - wouldn't comment on whether he was offered the coveted position.

"I'm going to let the campaign speak for the campaign," Kaine said, and later refused to indicate whether he had been ruled out for the position. "He visited with my staff just to basically say hi to them and thank them for all their hard work."

Obama spokeswoman Jen Psaki said the presumptive Democratic nominee also took a photo with Kaine's staff before the two headed to a campaign event in Chester, Virginia.

McCain's VP pick cannot be Mitt Romney. Mitt would get more women at closing time. I think he should choose hapless Joe Lieberman, because he makes Mc Cain look good.

How is that for a joke?

Those of you who still want Hillary probably wouldn't take NO from your parents or realize that you lost a sports day race at school. You know, one of those things that tell you you cannot have what you want. Well, go over to the corner or your room and be mad and cry, or better yet have a hissyfit until the convention is over.

You act so childish about things that are so important to the USA. America need all Democrats to defeat the Republicans that I am sure you do not want in the whitehouse.

Go do something positive for you cause rather than calling people names in this forum. Stand up and be counted rather than standing out and being noticed as an angry young child.

Prior to this meeting. Obama brought up McBush and his seven houses and more to the point that he did not remember how many houses he owns. This hits two points. First, McBush is extremely wealthy and is makeing big money while the working people flounder in this terrible economy. He does not understand the problem and does not think there is a problem. Second, He forgot how many houses he has. Who does that?! McBush is clearly suffering from dementia. An ill tempered, war monger, senile and not really very intelligent. This is who half of America wants for President?

To all the Clintonite, stop blaming Barack for your loss. Blame the clinton campagne and yourself. And about her debt, if you really are about 18 millions fans, why don't you just give her $ 1each one of you . If i am still good at it , that will make $ 18 millions.

have you noticed the cnn poll of polls is not always the same polls.looks like to keep obama in the lead polls were jerry picked in the past. now we get a cnn poll of polls with 7 polls not the usual 3 or 4.this must be what it took to get obama a 1% lead.

No to Hillary. I'm hoping for Biden so that he can be the attack dog and rip John McCain to shreds while Barack stays on message and deals with the issues.

BIG DEAL . ARE THERE ANY OTHER ISSUES MORE IMPORTANT THAN MCCIANS' NIMBER OF HOUSES? CANT THE OBAMA CAMP
THINK OF MORE IMPORTANT SUBJECTS AND ISSUES? PERHAPS OBAMA'S STUMBLING , MUMBLING PERFORMANCE AT THE SADDLEBACK FORUM HA SHTE OBAMA CAMP GRASPING FOR STRAWS . THINK OF IT. THERE ARE A HUGE NUMBER OF ISSUES THAT THEY COULD THROW AT MCCAIN, WHOSE WIFE IS WORTH MILLIONS AND CAN BUY A DOZEN HOUSES ALL BY HERSELF.
OBAMA'S SLIDE IN THE POLLS IS JUST BEGINNING AND NOW PEOPLE ARE TAKING A GOOD LOOK AT HIS CREDENTIALS AND THEY SEE VERY LITTLE REASON TO ELECT HIM TO THE HIGHEST OFFICE OF OUR GREAT COUNTRY AND AT A VERY DANGEROUS TIME.

If it was going to be Clinton, would the Obama campaign have ceded half of the convention to them?

Bill speaks, Hillary speaks, Chelsea introduces her, Hillary's name into nomination, etc.

I think that overall Hillary would help Obama win, but she would also energize the conservative base and swing many undecided voters away from Obama.

I like the idea of Biden, Clark, and Clinton in order of preference. I don't see what Bayh or Kaine do for him.

This experience for the job thing makes me laugh. Nobody is experienced to be President and all of them do worse in their second term when they have the most experience. It is all about good judgement and being willing to listen to the right people. Any situation is going to result in all the advisors coming together and it will be the presidents job to make a judgment call on their recommendations. McCain for God sakes is a tortured war victum. They have special homes for these people, they don't let them run a country.
As for the losers who cannot move on about Hillary, it is too bad they don't have a home for you. If you are so stupid as to think there is any chance the democrates would let Hillary run in 2012 after submarining the party your just too stupid to even speak too.

As a side-note, I just heard that country star Toby 'Boot in your arse' Keith came out to publicly endorse...Obama! Wow, not that I'm a T.K. fan, but this can't hurt with voters in some of those southern states that could tilt blue this November.

Obama needs to get strong with his message and slam the heck out of Mccain, who wants another guy in the white house that committed adultry, didnt we have enough of that when Willy was in there. Mccain should pick Willy or Edwards for V P. They all committed adultry. You think Cindy is going to make your house payment, put food on the table, or give you one of her houses, if you cannot make your house payments. We know that she can supply us with all the drugs we need. She wont even claim her own blood relatives. So with Cindy and John in there you can all kick back and have a beer, to top it off.

Everything Obama does, people start reading into it as a hint to his Veep choice. I bet when he heads to the restroom, people start speculating that the Rotor-Rooter guy is going to be Veep.

I think Obama is toying with everybody, and its working! See how much everyone is talking about him and his potential VP pick? Once he announces, then it becomes OLD news. But for now, it keeps the focus on him.

    Well said Capt. Smash !.
I too am tired of McCain playing the POW card. Doesn't this man have ANYTHING else to go on ?. Being a POW does not qualify one to be POTUS. I really wonder, considering how all he talks about is war, I'm so glad my children will not be eligable for the draft. God help the rest of you if this guy should steal the Whitehouse the way the other goofball did.
