Source close to Bayh: 'Evan was cool with this'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/08/22/art.bayhcoo.ap.jpg caption="Bayh is 'cool' with Obama's decision, says a source."](CNN) - A source close to Evan Bayh expressed disappointment with the decision. "We are all sad," the source tells CNN. "But Evan was cool with this, whatever happened. He understands what he's got - a family, and a life he's very happy in."

The Indiana senator, son of 1976 presidential candidate Senator Birch Bayh, has been a perennial VP contender.

    Even?

EVEN though EVAN was in the running, Biden is the best choice by far.

I am glad that Evan Bayh won't be Obama/Soetoro's running mate. Bayh is a man of high integrity and character. It would be a shame for him to run with someone so corrupt as Obama. I am looking forward to 2012 when Evan can run with Hillary Clinton.

CNN, learn to spellcheck. No wonder Fox dominates the ratings.

Mccain in 2008. Obama is an empty suit who has never led anything in his life - and his wife, well, ugh.

Get ready for a 3am text!
CNN – I love your news coverage, but, please stop with all the Clinton bating.
This election is too important for CNN to waste time Clinton baiting and keeping her supporters stirred up.
The Democratic Party is trying to heal, and the constant negative Clinton baiting is just plain wrong.
How about spending more time showing the American people just how demented John McCain really is, and that he can not lead this country. Show the McCain gaffes that come right from his mouth and let the voters see real McCain.
Jack Cafferty is the only person on CNN that actually speaks out about the real McCain.

She should not be names, take page off of that statement. That is how you act when you are not the chose. No huffing and puffing and threat of destroying a party. Thanks, Evan!

lol. Im hoping for Biden, but I'm feeling a curveball coming. I could totally see Biden holding a "family get together" in the middle of all this just for kicks and to allow Barack to surprise everyone.

    Claire McCaskill will get it.

There's your August surprise and buzz.

(Notice of disclaimer: I can take wild guesses too!)

Nice one again CNN...you dropped the ball on this report again...all for ratings that you won't get because you are not accurate in your reporting!

Oh, please let it be Biden.

QUESTION: What does a young sensational Muhammad Ali and Senator Joe Biden has in common.

The gift for setting up their opponents and knocking them out with two words. Obama, please pick Biden. We can surely use that mouth-almighty knockout punch.

With Obama's electricity and Biden's words, the campaign is in the bag!
