Biden charges into Denver

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/08/25/art.bidenlocalstop.ap.jpg caption="Biden arrived in Denver Monday and hit the ground running."]

DENVER (CNN) – Joe Biden hit the campaign trail Monday, flying solo for the first time since being named Barack Obama’s running mate and he vowed to run an aggressive campaign.

“You’re running with Obama?” an Obama supporter asked Biden during an appearance at a downtown Denver restaurant where he stopped for a photo-op.

“I'm running with Obama. I'm running for Obama,” Biden told the girl. "We're going to give them the devil."

Biden was accompanied by his wife, three children and his brother Jim as he gripped and grinned his way through the growing crowd.

Biden ignored most reporters’ questions, but when asked if he was surprised that Obama chose him for the number two spot, he responded simply, “I was pleased. I was pleased.”

The Delaware senator eventually made his way to the counter where he ordered five pulled pork sandwiches.

Biden will be in Denver throughout the convention. Tonight, he will attend Michelle Obama’s speech.

Maybe in Biden's first speech he can explain all those times he said that Obama wasn't fit to be president but McCain definitely was.

Then the second speech he can explain the time he said he would like to be McCain's VP.

I love it...Obama was too arrogant to go with the sure win (Hillary). Now he's stuck with a man who has repeatedly stated his respect for McCain. Heck Obama, why not just have Lieberman be your Veep?

"We are going to give them the devil"

Is that confirmation from Joe Biden that Obama IS actually the antichrist?!!

    Just Kidding!!

Go Joe, and go Obama! Rise up and end the reign of the party that brought us unnecessary war, pain, death, misery, torture, lack of response to Katrina, power to power balanced on the breaking backs of the less powerful... Pick up our flag and our Constitution out of the mud through which they have been dragged by the Bush Administration, and start rebuilding the true American dream!

Hilary supporters: John McCain voted against equal pay for women in the workforce – for the sake of women everywhere and their daughters, please do not give him your vote!

Obama is the best choice now, and Hillary will be given a high cabinet position where she can prepare to run in either four or eight years.

Now we know what kind of fake change Obama is running on by offering his VP spot to Biden who served in US Senate for 35 years. Right, Change We Can Believe In. But, at least he is now admitting that he is lacking the experience he soooo needs if he wants to be elected president.

I still have no idea why Biden didn't do better in the primaries. He's so energetic and, well, likeable. Why people voted for him over, say, Hillary Clinton is completely beyond me.

Biden has got to be the most absurd pick for a VP. All this time whenever Obama was criticized for not having 'experience,' his supporters would say, "Experience doesn't matter, he has good judgment." I have never heard of 'experience' not being important in any significant job position (I.e., doctor, lawyer, etc.) and yet somehow being the POTUS doesn't require experience. Now that Obama has chosen someone who has been in the Senate longer than McCain for his VP, all of the lemmings are fawning over the great "experience" he brings to the ticket. Oops, I think the wind just shifted direction...let's see what Obama's mindless followers will have to say now.

Wise choice ! Joe Biden is a man of character, who deeply loves our country, public servant, family man, with lots of experience in foreign affairs, respected by dems and republicans as well.
Excellent choice, he will do a fine vice=president of the USA

I don't think he charged into Denver. It seems that he strolled in there.

ohn here am I read;y to join your team. I am sick of Howard Dean, Harr;y Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Obama. They are the eeny, meeny, miny, moe of a long ago nursery rhyme,

I switched when Howard switched the votes to Obama. I am a Hillary fan and will support her but never an Obama. He has a funny name for the president, is scary, is immature and is inexperienced. He may be a second choice on the ticket but never been appointed like George Bush was appointed by the Supremes. Amazing.

Obama scary, Obama risky, Obama will gamble our country. So let's go to McCain and the faster the better.

The McCain campaign's use of blasphemous mockery would fit right in. Shame on them for making fun of our Christian faith for the sake of politics!

I'm curious.... just WHY is Michelle Obama getting to make a speech at the convention? She's not running for anything, is not an elected official and I don't think she is a delegate. Is this an attempt by the Obama camp to patch up some disagreements and make her look good after the rather stupid gafffes she made during the campaign?

I can't rember any potential first lady before ever speaking at a convention. So what gives here?

  20. One of the 33 1/3% Who Will NEVER Vote for Obama!

What did the old fart plagiarist charge in on? His own or Obama's hot air?

I've already changed my party affiliation (after being a life-long Democrat and NEVER having voted for a Republican for ANYTHING!) from Democrat to Independent. I have already contributed to McCain's campaign and intend to contribute more. I cannot vote for Obama. He is a racist, race-card playing, disenfranchising (I live in Florida), inexperienced, flip-flopping, stuttering except when reading from a teleprompter, crooked Chicago-style politician with very shady friends and a very racist hate-filled wife.

I am so disgusted with the DNC and the do-nothing Democratic bigwigs who forced this unelectable fool down our throats that I may NEVER vote Democratic again (unless Hillary is running). Hillary may have to kiss Obama's butt, but I don't have to, and I WON'T!

    @AFRICAN AMERICAN

Your comments are typical and usually what is expected from African Americans. Your comments just proves your community is only voting because he is a black man. African American have become very racist in this campaign. Hillary does not have any control over individuals who do not like Obama. If they do not like him it is because of him and everything that has come out about his friends and ideas. I hope Obama becomes the first black man who almost won this election.
