Castellanos: It’s a liberal Democratic party tonight

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/08/25/art.four.gi.jpg caption="The Democratic speakers tonight are more liberal than mainstream America, Castellanos says."]Senator Kennedy's speech is going to be one of the highlights of the evening if not the entire Democratic Convention.

But it also demonstrates one of the challenges facing Barack Obama.

Tonight, America is hearing from the national Democratic Party - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, former President Jimmy Carter, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr, Ted Kennedy, a group considerably farther left of center than mainstream America.

They are not change. They are classic, old school "make Washington bigger" Democrats.

When Obama won the nomination, change ran into the national liberal Democratic establishment. So far, as we can see tonight, the national Democratic Party has won.

Let's see if the Obama campaign chooses to reverse that and regain the mantle of change this week.

How hypocritical you guys are all. You complain that this article stating a very important and valid observation is "right wing trash" and so on yet you are acting like a frenzied mob of Obama fanboys.

Whats amazingly pathetic is how you Americans are going to mess up the one chance you have to catch up with countries like Canada and the countries of Europe in terms of quality of life.

Signed: Disapointed Canadian (who wanted more for our big brother down south...he just lost his way at some point....started getting addicted to oil...quit investing in education...he had such hope too).

I can't believe people are that gullible they believe when someone goes for a "change" with empty rhetoric. Did Obama ever outline WHAT change he is talking about and how?

I have never seen such garbage in my entire life! What do you people want? More Bush? Why, is the economy good? Do you enjoy putting gas in your cars at this price, and heating your homes at this price? Better yet, do you have a house or one that is worth much at this point? Do banks closing turn you on? Do you like burying our men and women for a war that was ridiculous? Do you really believe that Iraq caused 9/11? It is time to get a grip. And by the way, the convention is not just a party! Let's see if the ridiculous Republicans have a good time at their Convention. Let me know if they do, cause I sure won't be watching!

Why is CNN so eager to thrust Republican propaganda from Alex Castellanos, of all people? Was Karl Rove not available?

In regards to the statement: "House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, former President Jimmy Carter, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr, Ted Kennedy, a group considerably farther left of center than mainstream America" where do you think Obama is coming from? He makes Jesse and Teddy look like members of the John Birch society. I suppose that the next mantra Obama will come up with is: "each according to his needs, each according to his abilities"......

The public is hearded around to believe whatever the media shows and tells us...people need to make up their minds based on facts–something you cannot rely on from the media...including CNN

It's astonishing that, in the year 2008, the notion that health care should be a right instead of a privilege could be dismissed by such silly and irrelevant labels as "liberal" and "socialist". How about just plain humane?

    Bless you, Sen. Kennedy.

Of course we can repay that money without raising taxes for the majority of Americans. Also don't forget that China does want their money back and to get it they have to work with us and not do anything foolish on their part.
