Palin's husband has DWI arrest

PAUL, Minnesota (CNN) - A senior adviser to the McCain campaign confirmed Monday that Todd Palin, husband to Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, was arrested for driving while intoxicated in 1984.
"Yes, 24 years ago he had a DWI," senior McCain adviser Steve Schmidt told reporters in St. Paul.
Schmidt was asked if he was worried about the news, and replied, “I was not.”
The story was first reported by David Brody, a CNN contributor and Christian Broadcasting Network News Senior National Correspondent.

Was Palin properly vetted?
So the Republicans can question (1) Obama's citizenship (2) Obama's patriotism (3) Obama's religion (4) Michelle Obama's patriotism (5) and so on
But the "traditional family values" of the VP nominee and family cannot be questioned? Hmmmm...can you spell hypocritical??
By the way, Obama should stay as far away from any of this as possible. It will all work out under its own merits.

24 years ago they weren't even married! He was a young adult, when we all made some mistakes. You have to dredge up stuff from 24 years ago?? That means he's been squeaky clean his whole adult life! Sounds like a pretty good person to me. Can we say that about all of you critics?

Again, CNN, how exactly is this adding to the public's knowledge of Ms. Palin's positions on policies that have a direct influence on the american people. Character is one thing, but why don't you publish her voting record in Alaska, or something important like that. Give us real news. What is this the E network?
I just read, some years back Patlin's Husband was arrested on a DWI charge. If this is true this family has some serious problems and need help!! A child turning to sex, and a husband turning to the bottle! Patlin, please put your own family first!!
Folks wonder why it is very difficult to recruit competent candidates for political office these days. One reason is the incessant search for dirt in their private lives. Is it really important to know that Mr Palin had a DWI in 1984? I don't think so. And I don't think news organizations such as CNN should publicize the information because it is not important. Well, maybe it is important to the tabloids.

Tsk tsk. My Friends, this is what happens when you don't throughly vet your VP. We find out that not only is Mrs. Palin under investigation for ethics violation in her homestate but that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant and the "First Dude" was arrested for drunk driving.
My Friends, It's been only three days since McCain made his announcement, but I'm sure we'll find out more – probably more than McCain since he only met her once!
How clever to release all this information when the eyes of the country are focused on the tragedies happening in Gustav.
Looks as if McCain pays more attention to controlling the news cycle than to vetting and/or caring about the impact of the news on the Palin family.
You know why this make it news, Republicans think that are so much better than the average American.

I am an Obama and Biden supporter and I don't agree with these kinds of tactics. I do hope that Obama makes a statement condemning these articles coming out about Palin's family. Does any of this have anything to do with the economy or the war? No! Stop the madness!

According to his book, Obama at age 24 was using cocaine and abusing other drugs and alcohol and would wake up in the gutter. Does Camp Obama really want to get into a moral comparison? Obviously, Obama has not been properly vetted by the media.
