Palin's husband has DWI arrest

PAUL, Minnesota (CNN) - A senior adviser to the McCain campaign confirmed Monday that Todd Palin, husband to Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, was arrested for driving while intoxicated in 1984.
"Yes, 24 years ago he had a DWI," senior McCain adviser Steve Schmidt told reporters in St. Paul.
Schmidt was asked if he was worried about the news, and replied, “I was not.”
The story was first reported by David Brody, a CNN contributor and Christian Broadcasting Network News Senior National Correspondent.

I could have been hallucinating but Sen Obama admitted directly to the interviewer in a documentary on him that he "experimented with drugs" while in high school, which was probably more recent than this guy's dui. When will this nonsense stop?

I believe in the Democrats platform, which is why I'll probably vote for their candidates. But I feel Mr Palin's deep past is of record but it shouldn't be exploited to tarnish who he is today, or play into his wife's electability. I think that he and his wife dealing with a teenage pregnancy is far more eye-opening into the character of his wife, and her family dynamic.

A husband for a drunk and gets arrested for a DWI. At least, he was prevented from killing someone. And a high school daughter that is pregnant. Wonderful home life. No parenting or supervision for the parents are messed up. Great GOP choice!
Long time ago, but combined with teen pregnancy makes this family look pretty trashy- but no one is ever allowed to judge anyone based on a person's lack of serious education (University of Idaho is a joke), bad taste, criminal history, and lack of parental guidance (teen pregnancy). Most of America will simply identify with this loser family.

It was extremely SELFISH for McCain to ask Sarah Palin to become his VP. For goodness sake, she has her hands full. What was McCain thinking and why did Sarah accept? Sarah Palin, you have a 4month old baby with special needs who desperately needs your love, attention and devotion and now your teenage daughter is pregnant too? Is this some kind of sick joke the GOP is unleashing on us? Sarah, your family needs you more than America needs you!!! STEP DOWN NOW! You don't really want to talk about missing a couple Sunday's in church do you? Think about Rev. Jeremiah Wright's sermons and whether you're Messiah lied about actually attending that church or somehow missed out on the vile "sermons" that were spewing from the "Reverend."
