Pushed by popularity, campaign keeps Palin with McCain on trail

(CNN)– What does a campaign do when its new vice presidential candidate brings unprecedented energy to their candidate's crowds? They keep her with him longer.

A McCain campaign aide tells CNN the Alaska Governor will stay on the trail with McCain through early next week, instead of campaigning solo.

The McCain-Palin ticket is expected in Missouri Monday, and likely Ohio and Pennsylvania through Tuesday and maybe early Wednesday.

Campaign aides made it clear, the decision to keep Palin on the trail with the Republican nominee longer, also gives the campaign additional time hammer out details as to where and how to best deploy Palin when she does campaign on her own.

Plans were originally underway to send Palin to Florida solo early next week. Then that was scrapped and aides started working on a meet and greet event in the Philadelphia area Monday, with potential for a fundraising component. But those plans for Palins have now been abandoned as well.

Palin is expected to travel back to Alaska mid week through at least Friday, before her son, Track, who is enlisted in the Army is deployed to Iraq. In her convention address, Palin announced he's going on September 11.

So McCain still has the pitbull on a leash? She's not trained yet, so she isn't allowed to roam by herself.

Keeping them together because of "unprecedented energy?"

More likely that they're afraid to let her out on her own.

And what does that say about your campaign if people were bored silly before you made a pick of an extreme right and unqualified candidate?

Well they have to train her somewhere before she gets some "experience" and gains some knowledge of what is going on in the world and exactly what a Vice President is supposed to do–it's called on the job training...just what we need for someone who may be a heartbeat away from the Presidency.

The Republican elders love this...if something happens to McCain, they will be running the country as they have been for the past 8 years, not Palin. No wonder the base is excited. There will be no change, just the way they want it.

Aw, is Palin afraid to go out and speak on her own?

Or is McCain afraid of what she'll say if they don't keep her on-script?

What's the matter? She can't stand on her own two feet? How can anyone with an "ounce of intellect" as my grandmother use to say even consider her for VP.

She can be solo, because she doesn't know what to do solo! she needs to be trained first.. I respect her but is the truth sadly. I heard from her the same lines she stated in the convention.. Poor women she doesn't have a clue!! I think McCain Campaign needs to trained her very well especially when she decides to give interviews..

How long can she hide? If she is not ready to campaign on her own how can John McCain say she is ready to be the vice president????
This is not funny – it is frightening.

The truth is they are scared to let her out on her own. There is too much at risk with her extremely sketchy background.

Palin is qualified to be Vice President. She just isn't quite qualifed to do interviews! McMoose is a gun-toting coward.

Gov. Sarah Palin firmly put her foot in her mouth during her debut speech. She violated the first premise of operational security for military families. She announced to a world-wide audience her son’s specific unit, his MOS (military occupational specialty) and the specific dates of the unit’s deployment. This just is not done, ever. If I were the commander of that unit I would be screaming to the Pentagon to change the deployment and I would transfer that boy as far away from my unit as I could.

BTW, I am a military father and I did command an Air Force squadron during the Vietnam War.

Sarah Palin does not understand national security and she does not understand the needs of our great military. Sarah Palin is dangerously naive.

I would send her to only three states–West Virginia, Kentucky and Alaska. The rest of the country is more intelligent than to believe anything she says. They may even have to scrap those plans.

Smart move. Don't let her off the reservation as she might, horror of horrors, say something that hasn't been scripted or, worse, have to talk to the press.

Everyone better look closely at Palin. Ther's more than meets the eye and I don't meen positive. This soccer mom veneer is just that. Be careful not to get caught up in her spin. Check out her church affiliation and a group that prays to convert gays. Suporting her and McCain is definately going in the wrong direction. Next we'll be re-considering slavery.

You can trust Governor Palin to get us into a Holy War if she becomes President, and you can trust McCain to –

Well, actually you can't trust McCain. He flips, he flops, he slithers.

As the British say, he's neither flesh nor fowl nor good red herring!
