McCain and Palin once again play 'Barracuda'

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Heart guitarists Nancy and Ann Wilson don't want the McCain campaign to play their song."]
LEBANON, Ohio (CNN) - The rock band "Heart" may have asked John McCain and Sarah Palin stop playing their song "Barracuda" at their rallies, but the campaign is apparently paying no heed.

The track - played at the Republican National Convention in honor of the Vice Presidential nominee, who earned the nickname "Sarah Barracuda" playing high school basketball in Alaska - was pumped through the streets of Lebanon, Ohio on Tuesday morning at an outdoor rally before the GOP ticket showed up.

Earlier: Heart condemns McCain-Palin use of 'Barracuda'

When the song was played after Palin's convention speech last week, the band members quickly requested that McCain and Palin pull the plug.

"Sarah Palin's views and values in no way represent us as American women," Ann and Nancy Wilson told Entertainment Weekly. "We ask that our song 'Barracuda' no longer be used to promote her image."

But the McCain camp said last week that it had paid for and obtained all necessary licenses before using the song.

And the band's former guitarist, Roger Fisher, told Reuters last week that the McCain camp’s use of the song benefited both sides: Republicans get "the ingenious placement of a kick-ass song" - and Heart gets headlines and royalties. Part of that money, said Fisher, would be heading to the Arizona senator’s opponent: "With my contribution to Obama's campaign, the Republicans are now supporting Obama," he told Reuters.

Great strategy Ann and Nancy Wilson; alienate half of your audience. One would think you would applaud repeated use of your music at historic events. It would probably drive up your sales. Everyone knows it is just a song and in no way implies your support of anyone. The same goes for the Hollywood crowd. The Charlie Sheens of the world have no problem showing their ignorance by suggesting Bush orchestrated 9/11 and other nonsense. Maybe they are what is referred to as the "angry left."

McCain/Palin have no moral right. Heart asked them to stop using the song and they should take heed to what they are asking. Palin does not represent Heart. Stop using the song!!!

  3. Barracuda Definition - If the Name Fits...

From Webster's dictionary – Barracuda defined as "one that uses aggressive, selfish, and sometimes unethical methods to obtain a goal especially in business". At last, honesty from McCain/Palin.

All we have known about Sarah Palin is her ability to deliver a speech written by George Bush's speech writer. And knowing that Bush can lie about anything, one should not be surprise that Palin too is a lair. Watching her on the campaign trail today really exposed how unready she is for this job. All she could do is read. She has no message of her own. She is a robot and McCain is a snitch. In McCain's acceptance speech, he admitted he was broken by the Vietnamies. The question is: is anyone who gave American secret away at the time of war a hero or a snitch? Is such a person fit to be president of this great nation.

I find it ironic that the McCain claims Palin is ready to step in a be President but they don't seem to think she is ready to campaign on her own or take questions. WHAT ARE THE TRYING TO HIDE.

Yeah I think the McCain/Palin ticket has stolen some of Barack's thunder. Ever since the announcement of Palin the McCain campaign has been on a media skyrocket.

If this soccer mom/first term governor, couldn't teach her 17 year old daughter good value's or moral's, then she shoud have at least told her about birth control pill's or condom's. (Just what this country need's another pregnant teenager.) This is another example of why John McCain's choice of V.P. wasn't the right one. If she can't run her family, how is she going to help run this country??? (If her daughter didn't have a governor for a mommy, she would end up being another teenage mother on welfare.)

Looked at Fact Check. Palin describes herself as a "Pit Bull with lipstick" but it turns out that the attack dog is in fact a "LYING BITC (female dog). She's her words and her history do not compute. Where did she go to school ... certainly not at a Canadian or Ivy League University. As for the pipeline she HAD built, the Canadian Pipeline she's hoping for will not be built by Trans Canada Pipelines until 2018 ... if at all! SHE'S JUST MAKING STUFF UP!

Obama mistake was saying American's aren't stupid! You just have to listen to McCain, Palin and their following to know how stupid Americans really are!

Palin is just flavor of the month. The buzz will die around her candidacy for VP and everyone will see her as the dud she is. Only reason people like her so much is because she has a pretty face, but other then that she is just a nobody.

I think it's funny that McCain's money is going straight to Obama's campaign. I also think it's funny that "poor, wittle Sarah", – a.k.a. Barracuda – can't stand on her own two legs to make speeches by herself like ALL other VP candidates in the history of political campaigns. She's supposed to lure Hillary's supporters?! Give me a break! She couldn't compare to the strength of Geraldine Ferraro or Condi Rice! These women know how to stand in front of a microphone and speak.

Rational Thoughts, believe me I understand where you are coming from, but some of the gaffes (lies), do tell important story about the candidates and what you can expect if they are elected. And besides this is the Internet era for goodness sakes, the world of information is at your finger tips. Why solely rely on CNN. Reals news isn't found on these major stations anyway.

To Hillary Supporter Now For McCain/Palin:

Yes, I'm angry too about the DNC's treatment of Hillary, I still think she is the most qualified person for the job. However, you cannot vote for McCain instead of Hillary because they have completely opposite views and desires for our future! If you vote for McCain, you are voting out of anger instead of for what you want for this country. I wish we were voting for Hillary too, but please reconsider. Thanks.

The "Barracuda" will set women back for 50 years. So much for women's rights and the accomplishments so many have worked so hard to get....this woman will tell you, your daughters, and your granddaughters exactly how and what you can do with your body..oh well, until a medical illness effects you, you'll never understand....then it will be too late!
Follow the "Barracuda" you stupid people!

THE MEDIA NEED TO ASK QUESTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WASHINGTON POST: Palin bills state for nights at home, kids’ travel!!!!

Thousands spent on PLAIN children's flights
In separate filings, the state was billed about $25,000 for Palin's daughters' expenses and $19,000 for her husband, Todd Palin.

Flights topped the list for the most expensive items, and the daughter whose bill was the highest was Piper, 7, whose flights cost nearly $11,000, while Willow, 14, claimed about $6,000 and Bristol, 17, accounted for about $3,400.

One such invitation came in October 2007, when Willow flew to Juneau to join the Palin family on a tour of the Hub Juneau Christian Teen Center, where Palin and her family worship when they are in Juneau. The state gave the center $25,000, according to a May 2008 memo.

    WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE AMERICA?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Same old same old just like bush and cheney.WAKE UP PEOPLE !!!
I see Sarah's same old speech every morning, carried live on all networks. You know the one: "my opponent requests the most earmarks"; "I put the jet on Ebay"; "I said 'Thanks, but no thanks' to the funding for the Bridge to Nowhere". Spin, at the very least, and downright lies at most.

Obama was at a town hall this morning in OH as well – Nothing.
Biden was at a town hall yesterday – Nothing. Well at least CNN tried to cut away to it, but was having "audio problems".

I was quite surprised this morning that FOX News covered Hurricane Ike during Sarah's speech, while CNN and MSNBC covered every tired word live as usual. And she still uses her notes, strugglng outside while the pages kept blowing on the podium, for the same speech she's given at the convention and every day since. What's the matter? Are lies to difficult to memorize?

CHANGE??????? BO – null null – otherwise known as Dr. NO!

"Change" is fleeting! Positive and Negative – Good and Bad. Obama's self-serving "change" born from contempt and controversy, is like a wrecker destroying in a day or two, what it took noble builders – our founding fathers – years to construct.

The tale of the sinister scorpion, mirrors BO's blueprint of deceit.

The scorpion, a poor swimmer, asked the turtle to carry him across the river. "Are you mad?" exclaimed the turtle. "While swimming, you'll sting me and I'll drown."
Laughed the scorpion, "If I sting you, you would drown and I would go down with you. Where is the logic in that?"
"You're right. Hop on!" said the turtle.
Halfway across the river, the scorpion gave the turtle a mighty sting. As they both sank to the bottom, the turtle resignedly asked, "You said there'd be no logic in stinging me. Why did you do it?"
"It has nothing to do with logic," the drowning scorpion replied. "IT'S JUST MY CHARACTER."

I wish that CNN and the rest of the media would investigate Obama and Bidens background. There are still many questions about Obamas backgound that need to be answered and all I know of Biden is that he is a loud mouth. So lets show show some fair and balanced reporting. For once it would be nice to watch a news channel that is not biased. At this point, I am staring to feel for Palin and mat even vote for her and McCain.
