McCain ad paints Dems as wolfpack hunting Palin

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/09/10/art.wolfad.cnn.jpg caption="New McCain ad paints Democrats as a wolfpack hunting Palin."](CNN) - John McCain's campaign released a new ad Wednesday that portrays Democratic operatives as a vicious wolfpack hunting VP nominee Sarah Palin.

“The attacks on Governor Palin have been called ‘completely false’...’misleading,’” says the female announcer in the 30-second spot, which points to a report from Factcheck.org shooting down many attacks on the Alaska governor. “And they've just begun.”

Watch: The latest McCain ad does a fact check on Obama

The announcer cites a Wall Street Journal column that 30 Democratic lawyers and researchers have been “air dropped” into Alaska “dig dirt” on Palin.

That column, by pundit John Fund, cites anonymous sources in reporting that unnamed Democrats have descended on Anchorage. The Democratic National Committee and the Obama campaign have denied sending anyone to Alaska to conduct research into Palin’s past.

“As Obama drops in the polls, he'll try to destroy her,” says the announcer, as images of a wolfpack appear on screen. "Obama's politics of hope? Empty words."

The McCain campaign said the ad would be airing in “key states,” although it did not say where, or how extensive the buy would be.

"Poor little weak, Sarah Palin! The big bad dems are coming to get a poor defenseless woman!"

So is she a pitbull, or a poodle? McCain knew the media and democrats would look into her past when he nominated an unknown for VP. The dems wouldn't be doing their jobs, otherwise. Heck, the only thing anyone knows about Palin is that she eats mooseburgers, wears lipstick, and is an habitual liar.

What absolute hogwash. The McCain campaign's strategy is to accuse Obama of negative campaigning. Most Americans hate negative campaigning but it changes their votes. Four years ago, I asked a friend what she thought of the campaign. She said, "I can't stand all the negative advertising! Why can't they just tell us what they will do to make America a better country." When asked who she was going to vote for, she said, "I was going to vote for Kerry, but he is such a flip-flopper and he lied about his Viet Nam experience, so now I'm not sure...."

McCain's campaign is saying, "Don't vote for Obama. He's a negative campaigner, and he's trying to hurt a woman."

    A new level of sleaze.

This is the direct context of Obama's comments, judge for yourself if he was refering to Palin.

"John McCain says he's about change too, and so I guess his whole
angle is, 'Watch out George Bush – except for economic policy, health
care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy and Karl
Rove-style politics – we're really gonna shake things up in
    Washington,'" Obama said.

"That's not change. That's just calling something the same thing
something different. You know you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's
still a pig. You know you can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper
called change, it's still going to stink after eight years. We've had
enough of the same old thing."

SARAH PALIN SHOULD NEVER USE THE ACKNOWGY OF A PACK OF WOLVES BE HUNTED DOWN, NOT AFTER WHAT WAS REVEALED LAST NIGHT ON THE NIGHTLY NEWS USING FACTCHECK THEY DISCOVERED THAT MISS SARAH ALLOWS FOR WOLVES IN ALASKA TO BE SHOT DOWN FROM OVER HEAD HELICOPTERS TO KEEP THEM FROM HER FAVORITE MEAT MOOSE AND GETTING IN THE WAY OF OIL DRILLING AND IF THAT IS NOT ENOUGH THE POLAR BEAR WILL PROBALY BE EXSTINCT AS A RESULT OF GOV. PALIN OF ALASKA REFUSAL TO LIST THEM ON THE LIST BECAUSE IT WILL INTERFER WITH DRILLING OIL.

McCain campaign has change its image, theme and wrapped itself around Palin packaging about 5 times so far this year. Now, everything said about dear Mrs. Palin is either sexist, bias or some other issue. If she is this sensitive why is she on the ticket for the second hardest job in the country?

ARE THE REPUBLICANS SAYING PALIN IS A SOFT TENDER WOMEN THAT CAN'T HANDLE HARD BIG LEAGUE POLITICS?

If the Republican Party would publicly vet this person as McCain, Obama and Biden have, there would be no problems. Instead the press has to look under every rock to find the truth. Usually the Republicans can pick the rocks to turn over. This time they seem to want the truth to come out and hurt their own ticket.

Maybe that is the plan – nominate her, keep her from the press, find out the skeletons in the closet hurt the ticket, dispose of her and tell the public "Well, we tried..." Our new VP candidate will be?????

McCain + Palin = McPain for All Americans

  8. Ads

I doubt very seriously that any ad is going to make someone's mind up as to who they will vote for. I don't think this is a campaign about food service and if it was even that I would take a commercial break and leave the room. We do not listen to commercials. They do not control our household. That is one problem with this country. Too many non sense commercials. So commercials are a waste of time and money. We ll pay for this in the long run.

Obama never used the "pig" comment before, until Palin brought it up. I think he was referring to Palin. After a debate with Hillary and did a speech where he gave a rude gesture while talking about Hillary. Obama talks about "typical white women", calls a reporter "sweetie". Obama is not innocent on any of these comments.

30 lawyers dropped in Alaska to dig up dirt on a small town girl hahahahahahaha. This is the joke of the day. I can't believe I just read this. Is the Obama camp losing it or what. No wonder they are getting in debt first the campaign plane taking friends and family on vacation to Hawaii, now this ridiculous entourage going to Alaska and you people are donating to this guy. hahahaha

    Just more distractions from McPalin.

If they actually start saying something beyond the same identical platitudes and soundbites they've been regurgitating for weeks, now THAT would be news.

McCain had some semblance of integrity even as little as 4 years ago.

However, his decision to sell his soul to the devil, in the person of Karl Rove, in order to win this campaign has reduced him to but a crumbling shell of what he used to be. He is now a dishonorable, lying, pitiful man.

Maybe if McBush had actually vetted his VP pick, everyone else wouldn't have to fall over themselves trying to find out whether or not she has any qualifications for the job.

How in the hell does John McCain expect to unite the country after running such a sneering and hateful campaign? Heads up, Hockey Mom..I live in an urban area. I have an education. I'm not, nor have I ever been a member of a fundamentalist Christian Church. I am just as much of an American as you are. You GOP people are so good pitting American against American, yet you act all surprised when your Presidents routinely fail to accomplish anything.

It's time somepne vetted Palin as McCain sure didn't. The National Enquirer will finish her off in a very few days. Garbage is garbage whether you put lipstick or perfunme on it.

Really, Republicans?? This is where the campaign is going?

Tell you what.....put her out there and let her talk. Won't that fix the problem? The Republicans are so transparent. The scary part are the voters who buy it.

If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen.
Politics isn't for sissy crybabies. Get over yourself. If you've done nothing wrong you have nothing to fear.

So what exactly do you fear?

Let me tell you princess that what Obama said predates your pitbull years. You called yourself a female dog.

    GROW UP

McCain all I can figure is that you are a senile old fart with no idea where the real world begins and your fantasies end..

Obama/Biden supporters – I see that we have 10 to 1 advantage versus Palin/McCain supporters here on CNN blogs! Clearly, majority of Palin/McCain supporters either don't have anything smart to say or simply can't think at all! Well, what else do you expect from people who elected Bush in 2000 and 2004?! Just like their new leader – Sarah Palin – they are afraid to say something stupid. She reminds me Bush – totally clueless, have no ideas of her own and can only repeat the same statements over and over again that somebody else has written for her. She is just another republican puppet in hands of big oil and military corporations and reality is that they have enough power and even more importantly, enough stupid people (as elections in 2000 and 2004 have proven) that will listen to them. Can we still win in November? Based on recent state by state polling data, we are winning majority of electoral votes! But, Obama/Biden supporters in the swing states (OH, FL, VA, CO, NV, and NC) have to work really hard in their local communities to make our common dream a reality!

    Yes We Can!

The Repugs can dish it out but cannot take it.
If Palin is so ready to serve how can she deal with Russia, Korea and the world if she is so sensitive that she interprets every comment as degrading to her and is not ready for a press interview. Grow up and stop whining..
