McCain ad paints Dems as wolfpack hunting Palin

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/09/10/art.wolfad.cnn.jpg caption="New McCain ad paints Democrats as a wolfpack hunting Palin."](CNN) - John McCain's campaign released a new ad Wednesday that portrays Democratic operatives as a vicious wolfpack hunting VP nominee Sarah Palin.

“The attacks on Governor Palin have been called ‘completely false’...’misleading,’” says the female announcer in the 30-second spot, which points to a report from Factcheck.org shooting down many attacks on the Alaska governor. “And they've just begun.”

Watch: The latest McCain ad does a fact check on Obama

The announcer cites a Wall Street Journal column that 30 Democratic lawyers and researchers have been “air dropped” into Alaska “dig dirt” on Palin.

That column, by pundit John Fund, cites anonymous sources in reporting that unnamed Democrats have descended on Anchorage. The Democratic National Committee and the Obama campaign have denied sending anyone to Alaska to conduct research into Palin’s past.

“As Obama drops in the polls, he'll try to destroy her,” says the announcer, as images of a wolfpack appear on screen. "Obama's politics of hope? Empty words."

The McCain campaign said the ad would be airing in “key states,” although it did not say where, or how extensive the buy would be.

If she were a man, no one would be crying foul. But because she's a woman, the opposition is a wolfpack.
    This is reverse sexism.

Kinda funny. Politicians always go after and try to destroy the other in campaigns like this. That includes men and women alike. Does anyone here think Hillary got where she is by playing the 'nice guy' and not digging into her opponents?

Anchorage is not the capital of Alaska.

  4. American that worked with Hillary

Well, I guess you are not working for her now. If Hillary is so great why aren't you working with her now. She still has employment opportunities if she is so great.

  5. Now he wants Change!!!

He needs to do an Ad on how he is going to fix America. Why is he still in the picture. All he talks about is what she is going to do which is nothing.

This is so typical of the "swift boat" mentallity of the republican party. McCain was the first one to use the "Lipstick on a Pig" comment but now that he has a woman on the ticket its sexist???? Give me a break. If she can't take the heat, she needs to get outta the fire. She has no substance, talks out of both sides of her mouth etc.

Let's see – Bridge to Nowhere – was for it until she decided to run for Governor and saw how unpopular it was. Changed her mind to benefit her political career. Took the $$$$$ though. But used the $$ for other pork barrel projects. If she was a true Maverick then she would have said "Thanks but no thanks" Alaska's budget is big enough, we can handle our own earmarks. BUT, she didn't do that. Mayor of a small town, inherited ZERO DEBT. Leaves office for further her career, leaves town $23 million in debt. Oh yea, believes the Iraq was is a "Mission of God". Give me a royal break. Wake up people.

  8. PALIN "SPEAKING IN TONGUES" AGAIN

If Palin would stop telling lies such as "no to the bridge to nowhere" then maybe Dems would relinquish the hold on the "pitbull" but until she stops lying to all of America no kid glovers.

Let us not forget the Republican Nazi Party fired 3 salvos last Wednesday night that started this "scorched earth" campaign, so do not blame Dems now just for making sure "no sprig ever grows there again"!

P.S. I am the only one concerned that Palin is still giving the same speech for a week, but she still needs note cards? Just a thougt.

  9. I, too, sing America

    For shame.
The republicans talk of hope in one room, and stir the waves of rancor, mistrust and discord in another. Do they really want this country to be united, or it just about the oval office?

I want to hear about issues, and I haven't heard them talk about REAL change, or anything that matters to people I KNOW.

People still are suffering after floods, hurricanes, having their companies shut down, getting sick and not being able to afford care, and veterans are homeless.

How does our candidate respond? By throwing mud or pulling the gender card.

    Grow up.

Please go rent 'Never Cry Wolf' and it's a great story about a scientist and his relationships with the Wolf-Pack and the Caribou's of Alaska.

    I loved that movie.

Palin advocates hunting wolves from airplanes and helicopters. Chasing them down until they collapse from exhaustion then they are shot from the air or at close range. At least the Dems are hunting her from the ground. More fair that way.
    ========================================

I heard last night that she hasnt even shot a moose! SHE IS THE BIGGEST LIAR IN THE WORLD SECOND ONLY TO PALIN IN A JOCK STRAP....BUSH.

Palin is a good looking face alongside of old man McCain. The question is can she stop the firing of people against which she has personal vendettas and can she stop flip flopping on things such as the bridge to nowhere?

Dems have to release their 527's now to beat down these dirty attacks from the republicans. Obama/Biden need to step up the offense, because McCain and his Soulmate will not stop.

"The Republicans are good at campaigning...not so good at governing. "

When Obama said this he found the best way to describe them.

Addressing palin's claim to be a hockey mom: Which of her kids plays hockey? Does she spend most of her time being a good mother? From the pictures I see, her kids are running wild with rednecks, guns and alcohol. Sure, kids should be off limits but palin's ability to manage her household is indicative of how she'd manage our country. She's lies as much as any old time politician. The republicans play the gender card as a means to distract. The media is in on it.

Get over it hypocrites! The GOP has been doing this to Obama for months now. America has 2 months to get to know her. If McCain picked someone who was known outside of Alaska there wouldn't even be a problem.

  20. Are you kidding

Has anyone actually sat down and analysed how Barrack Obama became, first a Illinois rep in State Congress and then a U.S. Senator? I'm not sure I want to trust Luck and technicalities to work too many times for the U.S. President.

  21. If You Liked Bush You Will Love McCain

Poor wittle Sarah, can't take the heat?
How about we cut the BS and discuss the 9 trilllion dollar debt,
the two wars that are bankrupting this country, the rising unemployment rate, the failing economy, the millions without health insurance. I have yet to hear Palin or McCain utter anything of substance. Palin is reguritating the same speech that was written for her, over and over again. And McCain just stands there like a doofus and fidgets with his fingers.
Can the American people possibly be this stupid?

I'm like so many others: Eight is enough!

I am a devoted Christian, mother of six, pro-life and do not agree with same sex marriage, but I do not believe in forcing my views on others who are on the opposite side of my views. I believe in respecting people regardless of their race, gender, or faith.

The issue that I am most concerned about is our educational system – it's broken and desperate need of repairs. The second issue, like so many others, that the Bush Administration and McCain campaign are in agreement with is our economy - it's economically /fundamentally sound. The issues that ties these two jokes together are what true Americans should be concerned. If the majority support such hypocrisy, they do deserve what they get. May God bless them!

I'm voting with a clear conscience:
    Obama/Biden '08

While Palin should not be cyber hazed, I'm sorry, I have a problem with the McCain Campaign using Rove like attacks but then whining when the chickens come home to roost. When Obama tried to deal with you like you had some sense, you couldn't handle it. Now, that people outside of the camp are dealing with McCain/Palin like the idiots they are, now its crying time. Looks like the pitbulls are puppies that need milk.
