McCain ad paints Dems as wolfpack hunting Palin

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="New McCain ad paints Democrats as a wolfpack hunting Palin."](CNN) - John McCain's campaign released a new ad Wednesday that portrays Democratic operatives as a vicious wolfpack hunting VP nominee Sarah Palin.

“The attacks on Governor Palin have been called ‘completely false’...’misleading,’” says the female announcer in the 30-second spot, which points to a report from shooting down many attacks on the Alaska governor. “And they've just begun.”

Watch: The latest McCain ad does a fact check on Obama

The announcer cites a Wall Street Journal column that 30 Democratic lawyers and researchers have been “air dropped” into Alaska “dig dirt” on Palin.

That column, by pundit John Fund, cites anonymous sources in reporting that unnamed Democrats have descended on Anchorage. The Democratic National Committee and the Obama campaign have denied sending anyone to Alaska to conduct research into Palin’s past.

“As Obama drops in the polls, he'll try to destroy her,” says the announcer, as images of a wolfpack appear on screen. "Obama's politics of hope? Empty words."

The McCain campaign said the ad would be airing in “key states,” although it did not say where, or how extensive the buy would be.

McCain campaign and especially Sarah needs to grow up. We need to know everything and I mean everything about you Sarah before we vote for you. Anyone who has information please help us (voters) find out who Sarah is. It is about electing a leader for our Country. MCCain has given us enough details and a lot of lies about Obama. Nothing wrong with knowing all the Dirt about the governor. We are making a big decision here...and we do not know this Sarah.
It is better them who went there to look for facts rather than, McCain who lies on our faces about Obama.

  3. Palin is a Coward

Sarah Palin is a coward. This is ridiculous, not speaking to the press since the convention. She is such a baby letting everyone else speak for her. If she isn't ready to deal with the press she is ready for the job of VP. Give me a break... A coward and an amateur...nice pick McCain.

Hey! McCain has some of the most discusting television ads on I've ever seen. The sex ed. ad was absolutely filthy. McCain lost my vote after I heard "I am John McCain and I approve this message". Enough said lost me. GO OBAMA!

CNN do have proof that this ad is going to run? Are you sure it wasn't just made for free air time? How many loops has it made on your Channel today?

Palin and her record is a legitimate target: Trying to have books banned and then attempting to fire the librarian who would not cooperate; let's not overlook Troopergate; her support for the Bridge to Nowhere until it was politcally inconvenient, then Alaska kept all the money for the project anyway, oh and then she lied about her opposition to the bridge; her opposition to stem cell research; her lying about selling government property on ebay for a profit when she actually sold for a loss; the fact that she believes it is god's will to build an Alaskan pipeline and conduct a misguided war in Iraq; her ridiculous belief in creationism (that alone should disqualify her for office) and her belief that it should be taught in school; her ridiculous support for abstinence only (waste of money); her caustic, nihilistic sarcasm regarding Obama . . . I could go on.

Addressing palin's claim to be a hockey mom: Which of her kids plays hockey? Does she spend most of her time being a good mother? From the pictures I see, her kids are running wild with rednecks, guns and alcohol. Sure, kids should be off limits but palin's ability to manage her household is indicative of how she'd manage our country. She's lies as much as any old time politician. The republicans play the gender card as a means to distract. The media is in on it. And this is NOT a duplicate comment but CNN doesn't want the truth out.

Poor little Sarah. Boy you can dish it out, but can't take it. Let's get Sarah up in front of a crowd without any rehearsed lines. She's like a puppet on stage just move her mouth and arms with strings. Has any original statement ever come out of her?

I love how can be cited when it debunks myths about Palin but they completely ignore how it has proven nearly all of McCain and Palin's attacks to be false.

I have tried most of this a.m. to post a comment-CNN please post this!!
I voted for McCain in 2000. This is not the same man running today.

I have tried to maintain at least an ounce of respect for him for his service in Vietnam. But his ad re: Obamas' effort to protect children from pedophiles and predators is beneath contempt. I no longer respect anything about this man. He has been in the gutter for quite some time now-he has now sunk to the sewer.

His campaign was going to be based on issues-not personal attacks. Just another of his lies. He has no plan on any issue and has made that very clear. His first important decision as the nominee was to choose his v.p. Well he blew that in a big way. So much for his judgement.

    Enough said.

I don't think i've seen a single McCain/Palin ad that actually talks about isses. it's all attacks and lies against Obama. It's sad that this is the only strategy the GOP can come up with in this election year.

Palin is the one killing wolves. By the way, why is she running from being interviewed by the press. What is she afraid of. Or what are the republicans afraid of unless there is something to hide

Oh great they just called al dems mangy wild pack of dogs. Nice McKlan, and let me guess, Paliar is going to hunt them all down and shoot them. Great. let's just start the second Revolutionary War Mcidiot. You know, he does not know how to get out of his own way. You are a horrible people McCain and Palin. Both of you need to quit spending money making commercials and spend that money on your retirement party that you will having on Novemebr 5, 2008. You will lose and more than likely will never be re-elected Senator or Govnener McCain and Palin.

    September 10, 2008 01:47 pm at 1:47 pm |

I hope John McCain and Rich Beeson are paying very close attention to Obama's ground mounting activities.
Obama lies and cheats and so do all his handlers. You had better have people counting the votes at every polling place.
Obama is staking his life on this election..........he's already said he'll win.............this man is so dangerous that he will do anything it takes to get into the white house so he can put his agenda in place.

So now Democrats are a wolfpack going after Palin? I don't recall the Democrats going after Palin on anything except for her record, which is terrible... Obama stood up for her when the press was going after her daughter.

We've spent the last 19 months vetting 3 of the 4 candidates. This lady can't expect to come in and expect everyone to greet her with open arms. We have a lot of vetting to do in a short amount of time, and we, as voters, HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW ABOUT HER. It's not our fault or the Democrats' fault that her record is so atrocious.

I guess now we just wait for the Republicans to do the honorable (cheating) thing and jump in a plane to chase down the wolves for no reason whatsoever.

what a load of crap. I work with foreign nationals in 18 different countries and practically every non-American (even in the third world!) I've spoken to is in disbelief how the American people can actually be so utterly stupid to fall for the smear tactics in play from the repuglicans and let them take office again. McLame is using Palin to garner sympathy, divert media attention to keep her constantly in the limelight (even as all she is doing is yapping off her convention speech off notecards ad nauseum).
My stomach turned when McCain crowed "change is coming!!" in his convention speech – especially that "oh-im-so-pathetic-i-just-stole-obama's-line-but-you-guys-are-clapping-so-its-all-good" smile... made me sick. So Lame. This guy cant even stick to his own campaign slogans, how will he figure out how to dig us out of the hole Bush has left us in?!??!
As one foreign friend put it, this just proves that in America, people will think with their "other parts" and not their brains, and will put legs and lipstick over the real ISSUES. And, Americans love Drama to be part of real life. And so, McCain is giving it to them. And as for women, only those that have a very low self-esteem could actually ever vote for McCain-Palin.

this is real life people, not an American Idol contest!!! for the love of God, wake up!!!
