McCain ad paints Dems as wolfpack hunting Palin

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/09/10/art.wolfad.cnn.jpg caption="New McCain ad paints Democrats as a wolfpack hunting Palin."](CNN) - John McCain's campaign released a new ad Wednesday that portrays Democratic operatives as a vicious wolfpack hunting VP nominee Sarah Palin.

“The attacks on Governor Palin have been called ‘completely false’...’misleading,’” says the female announcer in the 30-second spot, which points to a report from Factcheck.org shooting down many attacks on the Alaska governor. “And they've just begun.”

Watch: The latest McCain ad does a fact check on Obama

The announcer cites a Wall Street Journal column that 30 Democratic lawyers and researchers have been “air dropped” into Alaska “dig dirt” on Palin.

That column, by pundit John Fund, cites anonymous sources in reporting that unnamed Democrats have descended on Anchorage. The Democratic National Committee and the Obama campaign have denied sending anyone to Alaska to conduct research into Palin’s past.

“As Obama drops in the polls, he'll try to destroy her,” says the announcer, as images of a wolfpack appear on screen. "Obama's politics of hope? Empty words."

The McCain campaign said the ad would be airing in “key states,” although it did not say where, or how extensive the buy would be.

Equality is about equality. Hold Palin to the same standards as men. Make her answer questions (to reporters) and explain the contradictions (lies) that she has already put forth. You can't be a pit bull and then complain because someone growled at you.

Obama isn't scared, but I'm disappointed in my country and the media for caving to the right. Stand up. Just cause someone says something is so, doesn't make it so.

'The announcer cites a Wall Street Journal column that 30 Democratic lawyers and researchers have been “air dropped” Alaska to conduct “dig dirt” on Palin.'

Even if this never makes it, can someone please proofread their articles before posting them? Please least tell me how '“air dropped” Alaska to conduct “dig dirt” on Palin' is in any way grammatically sound and makes any sense.

That's ridiculous - if Governor Palin was being hunted by wolves, she'd simply shoot at them with a shotgun from a low-flying airplane. That's one of the hunting techniques she advocates, after all.

It's amazing to see what her true value to the Republicans is: as a straw dummy. All she has to do is stand there with a sardonic grin and repeat sound bites over and over. In the meantime, everything that Obama, Biden, their supporters, or the media say or do is twisted by the McCain campaign into a sexist, personal attack on Palin.

It's the worst kind of politics. I'll be glad when this election is over and McCain goes back to the Senate and Palin fades back into obscurity.

So...our nation is at war, our economy is basically in a recession, home values have plummeted, we are more dependant on foriegn oil than ever, our climate is changing before our eyes, Tom Brady is out for the season and this is all McCain can talk about...Please for the love of God talk about at least 1 issue this week that matters to the American people. Ok, maybe Brady is not a pressing concern if you don't play fantasy football.

You are kidding me, Right? If Palin can take jabs at Obama for a week now and have been taking the high road by not responding to smear campaigning, then Maverick Palin should be women enough to receive a jab or two, although I remember Obama using the same words to describe the IRAQ WAR. BOO WOO REPUBS! The entire Republican party doesn't have a clue to what the American people want. Let me spell is out for you Repubs. We want to hear how the heck are you going to fixed this country, keep food on our tables, stop jobs for going oversees, stop spending 10 Billion a month in IRAQ while IRAQ has 79 Billion in surplus AND FINALLY BRING OUR TROOPS HOME. The Republicans really think we are going to allow them to steal this election with McCain's last minute 60 day reform change campaign to sway voters. VOTERS be aware of these tactics. My parents say, a tiger never changes it's stripes and some stripes are painted on, so McCain/Palin fit that saying. McCain/Pailin are NOT for change, just more of the same and camouflage for the next 60 days until election. VOTERS BEWARE!

The only proven liar, (see the TIME article for responsible journalism, don't waste your time with CNN) is Sarah Palin.

The only proven corrupt politician (See the Washington Post article for responsible journalism, don't waste your time with CNN) is Sarah Palin.

CNN, when are going to start saying that you're 'Fair and Balanced'?

This is Karl Rove, Ann Coulter and Hannity 101. Someone sends out emails so you link it to Obama. Nevermind the millions of emails about obama being Muslim and linked to terrorists, which I am sure Rove played a hand in.

You accuse your opponent of attacking you when they haven't and everyone believes it. And meanwhile that FactCheck.org article if anyone bothered to read it, only slightly debunks wild internet rumors about her, not anything about the Bridge to Nowhere fiasco and her charging 300+ days per diem when she was at home! But the facts don't matter with Republicans, they never did.

All I know is Barack has been through the fire for over two years. He's been up against the Clinton machine, and now he's taking on the GOP. This woman has been in the news for 12 days, and we can't say boo to her. He's prepared, she's not.

Let's get real – the republicans are going to use dirty tactics no matter what and the media which is owned by republicans is not going to call them on it – they will help them smear Obama and Biden. If the American people fall for it, they deserve another 4 years of Bush and Rove because that's who will be running the show. You don't really think they're going to leave it up to senile McCain and know nothing Palin do you?

The richer will get richer and the poor will stay poor. It's just amazing that the issues aren't of any importantance to most people any longer...we seem to be more interested in the daily soap opera life of Palin. We deserve everything that will be coming to us. God help us all.

HELLO: Any real journalists out there? Lets do a story on the Michigan Rep-lie-cans with their foreclosure lists planning to challenge voters at the polls. You can bet it won't be in the predominitly white polling places. CNN....come on America needs the truth now more than ever.

I think these daily ads are smart. McCain pops them on his website, then gets gets free air time because the media can't help themselves but to report on it.
Also the ads are smart because the immediately counter the next Democrat smear.
As a practical on-the-ground campaign tactic .... the ads are impressive.

The GOP ticket has become sort of a comic book. John "The Maverick" McCain and Sarah 'The Barricuda" Palin takes on the Big Bad Wolf (said in that Marvel Comic voice). . . Hilarious

"We have real problems in this country right now. The American people are looking to us for answers, not distractions, not diversions, not manipulations. They want real answers to the real problems we are facing.

"I don't care what they say about me. But I love this country too much to let them take over another election with lies and phony outrage and swift boat politics. Enough is enough,"

NOW THAT IS MY CANDIDATE!!! KEEP IT UP, OBAMA. DON'T LET GET AWAY WITH THIER LIES AND DISTRACTIONS. WHEN IS MCCAIN AND PALIN GOING TO TALK ABOUT THAT LITTLE THING CALLED.......ISSUES!!!!!!

Why are the Republicans spewing such venom and turning any statement into an attack on Palin? Despite the fact that I believe that she is a truly mean person, with very bad ideas and an evil attitude, the Obama campaign is more or less handling things with respect. McCain, on the other hand, has lost any iota of respect from me. He has proven that he's a dottering old fool who is desperate to win. Unfortunately, enough Americans may be lemmings enough to fall for the McCain/Palin lies, and downright evil campaign tactics.

Oh my "little red riding hood" cant stand the heat in the kitchen! They can smear Obama with ads comparing him to Britney Spears and the like; but WOW! Turn the tables on them and the bulleys start crying and wanting to run away. That's right! Bulleys! Push them and underneath all the "hot-air" is wimps. Democrats have been far too NICE for far too long; it ultimately lost them the election on 04. Bring it back to the Bible and punch back Barack, "an eye for an eye." As Christian people we do not need to be afraid of the Republicans...ask them why if they call themselves Christians do they want to deny healthcare to Americans. HIT BACK HIT HARD. Stop being nice and give to them as they give out! AND...BARACK...MAKE NO APOLOGIES!!!

Why is Governor Palin accepting ear marks when she has money to give every citizen a rebate? And is it true they have no state income taxes? If so, why should the rest of the states' taxes support Alaska when they have so much revenue to give it back to their people?

The part of the McCain roll out of Palin that has me confused is what job she will hold in his administration. McCain says that he cannot wait to set her loose on Washington. That she will clean up Washington and end earmarks and lobbyist influence. If those statements are true, then she should be running for the Senate or House, not VP. The Vice President does not do any of the jobs McCain is advertising that Palin will do in his administration. I'm just saying....

This one is the worst yet! More of the Rovian campaign strategy of "fear, smear, mock and LIE". The repugs are crying "wolf" again but there is no wolf!
I listen to all of the McCain whiners crab about "picking on Palin" (the repugs new campaign slogan that goes along with "drill baby drill"...

Palin is a fraud and her politics lacks any substance whatsoever. two weeks after her divisive vile mouthing at the GOP convention, Palin is yet to have any discussions on bread and buitter, meat and potato issues of concern to the American people. Palin is being sheilded, Macain knows that Palin is a fraud and the American people will know that way in time before the elections.

I found out from Alaskans that Palins old politics of tearing down her opponents created for her a lot of seriuos enemies and that the only reason Palin sold the Governor's jet was because she was afraid to fly in it, thinking that some of his enemies might compromise its safe operation.
