McCain ad paints Dems as wolfpack hunting Palin

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/09/10/art.wolfad.cnn.jpg caption="New McCain ad paints Democrats as a wolfpack hunting Palin."](CNN) - John McCain's campaign released a new ad Wednesday that portrays Democratic operatives as a vicious wolfpack hunting VP nominee Sarah Palin.

“The attacks on Governor Palin have been called ‘completely false’...’misleading,’” says the female announcer in the 30-second spot, which points to a report from Factcheck.org shooting down many attacks on the Alaska governor. “And they've just begun.”

Watch: The latest McCain ad does a fact check on Obama

The announcer cites a Wall Street Journal column that 30 Democratic lawyers and researchers have been “air dropped” into Alaska “dig dirt” on Palin.

That column, by pundit John Fund, cites anonymous sources in reporting that unnamed Democrats have descended on Anchorage. The Democratic National Committee and the Obama campaign have denied sending anyone to Alaska to conduct research into Palin’s past.

“As Obama drops in the polls, he'll try to destroy her,” says the announcer, as images of a wolfpack appear on screen. "Obama's politics of hope? Empty words."

The McCain campaign said the ad would be airing in “key states,” although it did not say where, or how extensive the buy would be.

Pitbull Palin is being used as a distraction necessary for McCain to avoid the issues. After the election, and after McCain gains the WhiteHouse, the pitbull will be muzzled and chained to the doghouse.

MOre GOP hypocracy designed to keep Amercians from voting for real change to out country, that the McCain people broke in the first place with thier stupid wars and stealing from the taxpqayer's money.

That pig line is one McCain himself made famous!
And Palin called herself a pitbull in lipstick.

Sorry to point that out folks, and I'm sure I am now a sexist for reminding everyone. But th ecomment started with the GOP, and is now being used so that for another week McCain does not have to tell us what exactly he is going to do for the country.

    Here are some facts:
For a drop in the bucket, every single kid in the state could have health insurance," said state Rep. Les Gara, a Democrat from Anchorage, Alsaka "For a drop in the bucket, we don't have to be one of the worst states in terms of high school graduation rates.
    That is Palin's "record".
Why is she unable to answer even th e most basic questions about it? How is someone like this even fit to lead?

    So I say to you:
Ms. Palin, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.
And Mr. McCain, why are you hiding behind this woman's skirt?
Shouldn't you be working on your platform. Oh, I forgot you don't have a plan for change, just a speech about it.

I'm a single mother and a christian and I have had enough of this republican BS talk.

Great. Another day, another McCain attack ad against the Dems. Do any of these ads actually stick to important issues or discuss them in-depth? November cannot get here fast enough.

Our little War Hero from forty years ago seems to have grown up to be a crybaby and a coward.

Face the policy issues, McCain. The character issues will finish you.

in that ad, are they going to show Palin shooting at the "pack of wolves" from an airplane, like they do in Alaska?

I commend Obama for not apologizing. This is just another attempt by the Republicans to stay away from the issues. The reality of it is if you are bad enough to come out and compare yourself to a dog w/lipstick then you should be bad enough to take the comments that will go along with that. I agree with Obama enough is enough. We should all be angry about what they are trying to do in this election. We should all be mad at how they are disrespecting us as citizens and as human beings. It stops now. I will no longer look at these news shows if this is the coverage they will have. I will just look at the Daily Show and Stephen Colbert if we have to get silly media we might as well get a laugh out of it.

Palin is an attack dog on the leash of the republicans.

John McCain can't draw crowds so let's trot out our trophy VP.
John McCain can't attack Obama so let's trot out our trophy VP.
John McCain can't give a speech worth listening to so let's trot out our trophy VP.
John McCain can't get women to vote for him so let's trot out our trophy VP.
John McCain can't get the MSM to focus on him so let's trot out our trophy VP.
John McCain can't even campaign effectively so let's trot out our trophy VP.

It's disgusting...and shame on the MSM for letting the McCain campaign get away with this. I have not heard these people talk about the issues since they trotted out their trophy VP and the MSM is going to allow the idiots in this country to elect another substandard president.

    It's SHAMEFUL.

Tell me why the Republicans are spending money on stupid ads. People this goes to show that the Republicans don't have a clue what to and how to win except make people angry. Republicans get a life and stop trying to destroy the American People with lies and hatred again the Democratic Party. If Palin had any sense at all she would know that she is there only as a show pony. She is not free to roam and speak for herself. Let her out of the corral McCain so we can really see what she can do.

Crybabies! When was the last time Obama talked about issues or his record? Oh right. Let's divert the attention back to attacking McCain to keep people from realizing how lackluster Obama's record is...

Here we go again. Choose a running mate who is a complete unknown so that there's no (presumed) baggage. Check. Choose a woman, because all women are stupid enough to buy into her simply because she's a woman. Check. Choose a woman because all of Clinton's former backers will happily follow any woman with 2 yrs. experience since they can't have Clinton's 35 year track record. Check. Do not select a Republican woman/man with extensive experience, because then they'll expect to have some kind of voice in the process of governing if elected. Check. Choose a girlie-eye-candy sort of chick, since that's what McCain's male backers (71%) want to see. Check. Make sure to attack quickly if anyone actually wants to check out the girlie who'd be a heartbeat away from leading the free world. Check, check, check. We can all sleep well tonight– Republican newspeak is alive and well.

McCain/Palin campaign is running the sleaziest and most untrue ads I've ever witnessed.
I'm appalled and really ashamed that a woman is involved with this kind of politics. Too bad she really is a pig with lipstick. Seems that way.
Caught in obvious lies, they continue to spread them!
Good grief, America! Are you really not listening?

It's a shame that in our great country we have come to perceive more of what is not there than what is there. What the repubs are saying is that it doesn't matter whether their claims are true, just so long as we Americans believe them to be. AND their claims are largely aimed at women. So I say, as a woman, we women really need to wake up and be alert because as far as the repubs are concerned, this election is riding squarely on our backs.

Additionally, with what I am seeing from so many women who are falling so deeply for this tripe, I don't know if I will ever vote for a woman because I don't like the large amount of whinning we are doing. This is not what I would want in the WH, whether as Prez or V. Prez.

You are kidding me, Right? Maverick Palin has been throwing jabs at Obama starting the night of the Republican Convention and Obama has taken the high road refraining from saying anything coming back at their McCain/Palin nasty campaigning. If the Mavericks can throw jabs, surely they can take a jab or two, although Obama use the same words a year ago to describe the IRAQ war. BOO WOO Repubs. The entire Republican party doesn't have a clue to what the American people want. Let me spell is out for you Repubs. We want to hear how the heck are you going to fixed this country, keep food on our tables, stop jobs for going oversees, stop spending 10 Billion a month in IRAQ while IRAQ has 79 Billion in surplus AND FINALLY BRING OUR TROOPS HOME. The Republicans really think we are going to allow them to steal this election with McCain's last minute 60 day reform change campaign to sway voters. VOTERS be aware of these tactics. My parents say, a tiger never changes it's stripes and some stripes are painted on, so McCain/Palin fit that saying. McCain/Pailin are NOT for change, just more of the same and camouflage for the next 60 days until election. VOTERS BEWARE! Let's get back to the issues at hand.. I agree ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.. I tired of the Mavericks riding the white horse and going no where.

Score one for the Mavrick – wait and see, he pull away from Obama in the polls – all I have to say is Obama showed very poor judgment and a very big ego when he ditched Hillary.

McCain has no shame! It is so disapointing to see how far he has fallen in his attempt to claim the presidency. His campaign is full of outright lies, ads and fake emails to feed on the innate racism among some people, blatant tries to kiss up to the evangelicals (read that Dobson), etc. Who used the "lipstick on a pig" comment first – why McCain when talking about Hillary's health plan! Did Hillary accuse him of making a derogatory comment about her? NO! So what is this fake outrage when the comment is used by Obama about one of McCain's policies? It is a fake and phony attempt to use Sarah Palin to his advantage. What a hoax! I ask where's the beef in McCain's policies and solutions – he has none! I am so disgusted about the GOP – I was a registered Republican but I saw the lies and hatred in the GOP as it has become and I will not vote for McCain or any other GOP member as long as they are like this.

GIVE ME A BREAK! If Obama or Biden disguss Healthcare or children they will trot Palin out to say she is being attacked for having a Down's Syndrome baby....if the word "lipstick" is said in an OLD saying (also used several times by McCain) then they will claim Palin's gender is being attacked. SEXISM they scream!

McCain can't lecture us on sexism when places are selling "supportive" Palin shirts touting his VP choice's "hottness", or declaing her "VPILF"! When they tolerate sexist remarks so long as they garner votes from middle aged men, then don't try to sell us that EVERY negative comment about McCain/Palin is now sexist.

    Grow up.

  24. Brandon for Obama

    PLEASE POST CNN!!!

The McCain camp needs to get their messaging strategy correct. I work in advertising and they are not sending a cohesive message with how they are packaging Gov Palin.

On one hand they say she is a pitbull with lipstick, a maverick. And then on the other hand she is the victim of Democratic bullies and sexism. Pick one, and be consistent with it.

Sen Obama did not portray himself as a victim when at the RNC Guliani and Gov Palin attacked his character and demeaned his work as a community organizer.

I call for all Americans, Repblicans, Democrats, and Independents to hold ourselves to a higher standard. Let's demand that ALL politicians get rid of these stupid ads going back and forth. We are deciding our president, not who is line leader at recess. Calling out substantial policy differences is one thing, but distroting truths and attacking personalities is another.

If we as voters don't respond to their crap…they want put it out there.

While Obama has had some ads labeled negative, I still commend him for his campaign. Overall he has been less negative and has had to retaliate to several attacks made against him…but you don't see him acting like the victim.
