McCain ad paints Dems as wolfpack hunting Palin

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/09/10/art.wolfad.cnn.jpg caption="New McCain ad paints Democrats as a wolfpack hunting Palin."](CNN) - John McCain's campaign released a new ad Wednesday that portrays Democratic operatives as a vicious wolfpack hunting VP nominee Sarah Palin.

“The attacks on Governor Palin have been called ‘completely false’...’misleading,’” says the female announcer in the 30-second spot, which points to a report from Factcheck.org shooting down many attacks on the Alaska governor. “And they've just begun.”

Watch: The latest McCain ad does a fact check on Obama

The announcer cites a Wall Street Journal column that 30 Democratic lawyers and researchers have been “air dropped” into Alaska “dig dirt” on Palin.

That column, by pundit John Fund, cites anonymous sources in reporting that unnamed Democrats have descended on Anchorage. The Democratic National Committee and the Obama campaign have denied sending anyone to Alaska to conduct research into Palin’s past.

“As Obama drops in the polls, he'll try to destroy her,” says the announcer, as images of a wolfpack appear on screen. "Obama's politics of hope? Empty words."

The McCain campaign said the ad would be airing in “key states,” although it did not say where, or how extensive the buy would be.

Palin advocates hunting wolves from airplanes and helicopters. Chasing them down until they collapse from exhaustion then they are shot from the air or at close range. At least the Dems are hunting her from the ground. More fair that way.

At what point are the Republican spin makers going to realize that the smear tactics are going to drive away many of us (Republicans too). I want to see answers from McCain on what he is planing to do, not how much his underlings can smear the opposition.

Despite the McCain camps lies about Obama's accomplishment he has a many in a short period of time. McCain and Palin are the biggest HYPOCRITES I've ever seen. The Republicans should be ashamed of them but instead stick up for their lies and just repeat them.

Some of Senator Obama's accomplishments in the Illinois Senate:

Introduced legislation reforming ethics and health care laws.
Sponsored a law increasing tax credits for low-income workers, negotiated welfare reform, and promoted increased subsidies for childcare.
Obama supported Republican Governor Ryan's payday loan regulations and predatory mortgage lending regulations aimed at averting home foreclosures
Sponsored a bill to monitor racial profiling.
Voted on over 3000 bills. Voting present is a common practice in the Illinois Senate if you want to keep the bill alive to make some corrections. He only voted present less than 1% of the time.

    US Senate:
Introduced "Lugar–Obama," which expanded the Nunn–Lugar cooperative threat reduction concept to conventional weapons
Co sponsored the "Coburn–Obama Transparency Act," which authorized the a web portal to make congress spending public information.
Introduced follow-up legislation: Strengthening Transparency and Accountability in Federal Spending Act of 2008.
Sponsored legislation requiring nuclear plant owners to notify state and local authorities of radioactive leaks.
Co-sponsored the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act, which was signed into law in September 2007.
Introduced the Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007.
Sponsored the "Iran Sanctions Enabling Act"
Co-sponsored legislation to reduce risks of nuclear terrorism.
Sponsored an amendment to provide one year of job protection for family members caring for soldiers with combat-related injuries.

These are just some of Obama’s accomplishments in his short career. Where are the Fact Checks and Snopes on these Republican smears and false rumors which are coming directly from the McCain campaign itself?

Amen. I hope some Obama supporters realize that the "politics of change" and "hope" is no different than anybody else's politics. Obama doesn't have to be an attack dog with smear politics if his whole staff does it for him. Gee, I'm inspired.

at least Obama is trying to focus on the issues in spite of the Republican hate machine. I knew it wouldn't be long before they fire up the swiftboats and unleash their in-house hack Jerome Corsi with another cheap "book".

There's a chance it will work, there are way too many idiots that will believe this crap and republicans/conservatives that have to believe it.

First of all..."Alaskan capital of Anchorage"? You mean, Juneau, correct?

Lastly, this is a fairly crafty ad, but to be expected. The Dems' drop in the polls suggests that there truly are thousands of folks in the USA that still believe in old-school, hard-right Conservatism and respect that there is a chance that somebody outside of the usual Washington inside might become VP...both points contained so far within Palin. I would have to say that there probably is at least some truth to this ad.

    "wolfpack hunting Palin"

The Republicans are trying to distract people from the fact that Sarah Palin supports Aerial Wolf Hunting. Nice try at trying to cover up that one, but too many people already know about it.

    please post

I have to agree with Abby- unfortunately, it appears that at least half of the America public are easily manipulated and swayed by lies and skillful propoganda. They vote against their own interests and then wonder why life is so hard in the years following poor choices made in an election.

I remain hopeful that 51% of the electorate GET IT.

If you're voting for McCain based on the VP then you're victim to the wolf in sheeps clothing. What has he encouraged? Think about it. Go to google and look up McCain ex wife and see what kind of man he is.

Whats the problem. I thought Palin liked shooting Wolves from helicopters? In an ABC online article today. Palin says that she did not fire the Wasilla Librarian for refusing to ban the book 'Pastor, I am Gay'. Palin says she fired the Librarian for not being ' Loyal'. Palin said that she then fired all of the department heads in the tiny town!

The republicans are once again true to form. No plan for the country, no talk of the issues, no, no, no. Just the same ole politics from the same ole folks, John McCain declared to be different, Just another lie.
He's no different. He'll do anything and say anything to get people to vote for him."I'd rather lose an election, than lose a war" , yeah right. Just another LIE! At some point , we have to tell the Republican Party and John McCain , we don't want or need this and we aren't goin to accept this crap any more. we need to say it with our vote! GO OBAMA/BIDEN

This is dirty politics at it's worst. If the McCain camp want sto discuss wolves, let's ask the repubs to have a discussion about Palin's aerial wolf hunting.

It's obvious the McCain people can't or won't discuss real issues so they have to divert the campaign with lies and mud slinging.

It's disgusting and I think the American people are smarter than this.
