[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/09/10/art.wolfad.cnn.jpg caption="New McCain ad paints Democrats as a wolfpack hunting Palin."](CNN) - John McCain's campaign released a new ad Wednesday that portrays Democratic operatives as a vicious wolfpack hunting VP nominee Sarah Palin.
“The attacks on Governor Palin have been called ‘completely false’...’misleading,’” says the female announcer in the 30-second spot, which points to a report from Factcheck.org shooting down many attacks on the Alaska governor. “And they've just begun.”
Watch: The latest McCain ad does a fact check on Obama
The announcer cites a Wall Street Journal column that 30 Democratic lawyers and researchers have been “air dropped” into Alaska “dig dirt” on Palin.
That column, by pundit John Fund, cites anonymous sources in reporting that unnamed Democrats have descended on Anchorage. The Democratic National Committee and the Obama campaign have denied sending anyone to Alaska to conduct research into Palin’s past.
“As Obama drops in the polls, he'll try to destroy her,” says the announcer, as images of a wolfpack appear on screen. "Obama's politics of hope? Empty words."
The McCain campaign said the ad would be airing in “key states,” although it did not say where, or how extensive the buy would be.
The Republicans created this media frenzy. The world doesn't know much about Gov. Palin and are clamoring for answers. CNN has a reporter airing broadcasts from Alaska. That doesn't have anything do with the Democractic Party.
Why not just arrange a series of appearances such as Meet the Press, Wolf's show, etc? Next, let her go on The View, Ellen, etc. Then, everyone can hear from her directly.
The problem is aside from the RNC Convention we don't know much about her. I've listened to a few excerpts from the campaign trail. She is primarily repeating her words from the Convention. I'd like to hear her on a show for an hour directly speak to all the rumors, speculations, etc. Until that happens, I think there will continue to be "new revelations" on a regular basis.
Recently, I received a You Tube type video addressing issues with her daughter. I don't know if any of that is true or not. I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt. Since I don't know much about her, it is hard to do that.
This ad is outrageous but I guess not anymore so than any of the other lies the Republicans have spewed.
If the public falls for this than we're more stupid than I thought we were. Just another way for the Republicans to keep from discussing actual issues.
Welcome to the Divided states of America. John McCain is tearing up the fabric of the United States with this repulsive campaign. He may as well be tearing up the American flag in all his adds. Divided we fail.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!
Really!?
I hope most see this strategic ploy that McCain is going towards. Really insulting. McCain is making a mockery of a serious election. Like Abby said, "If this works, the American people deserve what they get. Good luck!"
he did the same thing in Chicago. If you can't beat your opponent on the issues, try to tear them down with lies and deception.
And this from the people who lie to you straight-faced through something called the "Palin Truth Squad." Blair was right (Eric, not Tony.)
Does the wolf have lipstick on? If so, is it still a wolf? Oh wait, that's really sexist remark – wolves everywhere should be outraged!!
This is horrible!!!!! WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!
The Republicans will do anything to keep control of the White House and control of US!!!!!!
'Maverick'...empty word.
'Revormer'...empty word.
'Hockey mom'...empty word.
'Lipstick'...empty word.
'Pit Bull'...empty word.
'Pig'...empty word.
Lets hunt the pigs with our guns, thank goodness for our second amendment. MacCain supports pedophiles, why would he take a bill meant to protect children and use it for a political advantage.
So, no one is supposed to vet Sarah Palin? No one is allowed to challenge her views or experience? Her opponents aren't supposed to criticize her?
Really now – this is so hypocritical – again.
Palin should have no problem with the"wolfpack". She likes to order wolves shot from planes.
This woman makes me ill. McCain makes me ill.
It's called VETTING, Sen. McCain, perhaps you should have tried it. Since you didn't, you leave the media and opposing campaign really no choice but to find out the facts about this so-called VP candidate for themselves and for the AMERICAN PEOPLE!
OBAMA/BIDEN '08 & '12 YES WE CAN!!!
That is one slimy, slippery turd running on the republican side. Its sickening that there are actually people out there that believe the lies they tell.
Pleas, let's talk about the issue!!
Unfortunately, when Palin-Cheney gets into office, she'll be on Air Force One, shooting down all Americans that are against her.
I saw CNN's presentation of the helicopter she was riding on and the wolf she shot or someone shot and they hung the wolf on a bar.
It was such a sad site. I saw 'Never Cry Wolf' when I was a kid and I loved that movie. Poor Huskies! Poor Americans.....
This is all going to back fire
Oh please..she should go home if she cannot play the game. Sorry. Get out of the kitchen...
LOL The McCain Camp are so Pathetic why don't you make a ad about what really matters. It's unreal that people no idoits are going to vote for this clown.
Who is stupid enough to fall for this latest McCain ad?! "Lipstick on a pig" is an old political term & John McCain knows it because he's used it himself.
People think things through- the Republicans always use this type of tactic, it's distracting-where are the real issues in this campaign?!
People are dying & this is what they're arguing about!!! Unbelievable...
My vote is Obama/Biden
Hilary Rosen put it best on CNN last night when she put forward the example of 911 (a GOP favorite thing to exploit). She reminded viewers that as the attacks were unfolding, the President was not in the White House and in those tense moments, the power was with the VP as to whether or not to shoot down US commerical airplanes. Simply put, if another similar situation were to occur, would Americans be comfortable with Palin in that role? It is that simple. This is not a high school popularity contest but rather an important election for the entire world. I couldn't believe it when I heard the GOP saying that this election is not about issues but about personality - surely that can't be so for the millions of Americans who have seen their quality of life deteriorate in the last eight years.
One People, One Nation !
Thanks Obama for your Inspiration
This is so sad. I, as a woman, am so disgusted. Why doesn't John McCain talk about his education policy instead? well maybe he doesn't have one. I think McCain is exploiting and using Sarah Palin's gender to win elections – she and all self respecting women should be appalled at this theatrics.
This tactic was more obvious than a typical Hollywood script. We can only pray that enough people in the swing states won't be so gullible.
