Palin says she didn't hesitate to take VP slot

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/POLITICS/09/11/palin.abc/art.palinalaska.ap.jpg caption="Gov. Sarah Palin arrived back in Alaska on Wednesday night."](CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she "didn't blink" when Sen. John McCain offered her the Republican vice presidential nomination and is confident she could handle the duties of president if necessary.

"I answered him yes, because I have the confidence in that readiness and knowing that you can't blink," Palin told ABC News in her first interview since accepting the No. 2 slot on the GOP ticket.

"You have to be wired in a way of being so committed to the mission, the mission that we're on - reform of this country and victory in the war. You can't blink. So I didn't blink then even when asked to run as his running mate," she said.

Biden will tear her to sheds, can't wait. He might even make her cry.

She's ready to commit us to multiple wars under the Bush Doctrine, yet she doesn't even know what it is. And she knows all about Russia because she lives next door. This is really scary stuff.......

She obviously went through a good training of a GOP training camp.

Anyway, it seems the interview is missing contents about what "she" believes in, other than showing her confidence and poise. What are her own policies? Hillary had her own convictions through her political careers, even when she was in a college she already had a focus on the issues that could help women. And Hillary developed her convictions on what she wants to do for the country. Hillary's presentation and communication may be less charming and less personable than Sarah's, but I do not care, because she is the woman of the substance.

Sarah is just being a good presenter and a soldier, with great confidence and faith – which is great as a person, but then, what does she really want to do for the country? Can she elaborate what she means by "reform"? What will she exactly plan to do? What legislation will she support for her vision of reform? Will she reform our failing healthcare? Will she reform our failing foreign policy? Will she reform our skewed tax system to re-distribute money from us to these riches?

I am sure she did not blink to say yes, but she is blinking now to come up with her actual "reform" plans.

This interview is really a waste. Being confidant and being prepared to be president isn't the same thing as being qualified. I mean, what is she suppose to say. That she isn't qualified and confidant. I'm confidant but it doesn't mean I'm freaking qualified to be president.

I saw breaks in the tape and her mouth moving and no words coming out. In addition and more importantly, she stuck to the patented answers that were given to her by the people who prepped her even when she should have said something different. I don't know anything about international affairs but know that something was not right in that interview.

Charlie Gibson is a biased jerk. He wasn't even paying attension to Palin during the interview. He needs to go ask Obama hard questions like that. That's what I want to see. The media is just upset because Palin said she didn't care for them. Just like I have not for several years. They have lost focus and it's so dissapointing.

This woman scares me to death. She doesn't have a clue, and she has no idea she's being pimped out by the Repugs. If she wasn't such a pathological liar, I'd almost feel sorry for her. But, I don't.

  10. Introducing John Obama

She should have blinked. Once for her newborn, once for her troubled teen, and once for her son going away to fight Bush's war.

Her statements really to show how ready she is. She got a crash course in McCain-ology, so now she's fully prepared to babble on about a Cold War and how we are all Georgians...*sigh*. Sarah, we already know what John McCain thinks. I want to know what YOU think. What are YOUR ideas on how to help solve America's issues? When have you used your diplomatic skils to do anything? How are you going to help McCain run the nation?

  11. McCain Handpicked Charlie

She was trying to flirt her way through, which was so unprofessional. "Oh, Charlie...." It was sickening.

Charlie Gibson of all people knew he's better suck it up and do his job for all of America, and he did. He pulvarized her.

Strike one for this great country, and against all jokesters like McCain and his Rove henchmen.

I hope American will see Palin for what she really is, a person without any experience in foreign affairs, will get us involved in another war without a " blink"where does she propose to get more troops? DRAFT?
and where will the money come from to fight another war? with trillion in debt and 409 billion budget deficit, and Lehman Brother might bite the dust soon, following Bear Stern's footstep, the country is going to pieces, and all she can talk about is driill, baby drill, Wake Up America ! we need someone who understands issues and push for innovations, not a hockey mom with a stick taking on Vladimir Putin

This woman is cut from a different cloth than most.

With 5 kids at home, one of them a handicapped newborn almost, why the heck would she take on such a daunting task as vp, or even president? If she becomes the vp, then her duties in the Washington DC would leave her zero time for her family. Is that a good mother? Hardly. Just you watch, after 4 years as vp or president maybe, she is going to look like an old woman, old beyond her years. And for what? Would it have been worth it?

The one positive thing I can say about her is that she knows what she wants and she is determined.

Just saw interview excerpts. Am I the only one who was reminded of beauty pageant answers?

Let's ask her if she can find Iraq on a map.

  18. Typing "CNN, Post this" doesn't mean you have a clue.

Newsflash: 90% of you had no idea what the "Bush doctrine" was before Gibson described it. And, FYI, his description wasn't even entirely accurate.

All the people who support john and sarah, wait until to see what happens if they get elected. There will be new wars, economy still bad for few more years, unemployment. Don't cry when this situation comes, because the people had the power to change and you didn't . so, you deserve the result. For republicans supporters, Its amazing how american people are getting so dumb in electing to have the same 8 years for another 4 years.

    only god can save now

I personaly, donot feel Sarah Palin is ready or experience enough to be VP don'nt matter if she was a Governor. Bush was a Governor of Texas and CEO over some companies. Results our Country is now in a bad economy down low. I believe you need Judgement to make good choices. She is not ready Ladies just because she is a women don"nt mean she is ready to lead this country.

You idiots keep harping about experience. Perhaps Obama doesn't have the "experience" of McCain..or even Palin. However, its clear who has the better judgement and brains to make the right decisions. What has "experience" reaped for you over the past 8 years??? Answer that one.

You said how could we trust her with America.

How can America trust you with your vote after you speak this way? Do the country a favor and don't vote. We will be better for it.
