Palin says she didn't hesitate to take VP slot

Sarah Palin says she "didn't blink" when Sen. John McCain offered her the Republican vice presidential nomination and is confident she could handle the duties of president if necessary.
"I answered him yes, because I have the confidence in that readiness and knowing that you can't blink," Palin told ABC News in her first interview since accepting the No. 2 slot on the GOP ticket.
"You have to be wired in a way of being so committed to the mission, the mission that we're on - reform of this country and victory in the war. You can't blink. So I didn't blink then even when asked to run as his running mate," she said.

After seeing in her ABC interview, that Plain didn't even know what the "Bush Doctrine" was, I am convinced that Saturday Night Live should get her to play herself in Saturday's opening show. The name of this comedy troupe, if I remember correctly, is "The Not Ready For Prime Time Players"!

Shouldn't one pause a moment to consider one's family and personal readiness for any major new endeavor? Not blinking comes AFTER we think. Having had a leader who acts from the gut for eight years, we could use leaders who pause, even momentarily, before acting. Her total reversal of the meaning of her 2006 speech about Iraq and then attributing her words to Lincoln was truly astounding.
That interview was great (for the Democrats), I can only hope there are more like it. Can we honestly believe that she doesn't know the Bush Doctorine, yet meant to quote Lincoln when referring to God's will at her church? Riiiight.
And she's equipped to deal with a possible Russian threat because you can see part of Russia from part of Alaska? Is she planning to put up a big telescope over there or something?
Biden may consider himself a lesser choice due to the fact that he wasn't the politically expediate one. Obama would be having an easier go if he went with Hillary just to lock up votes rather than Biden who was a choice meant to help bolster qualifications and bring experience. Palin was a choice meant to bring in the religious right and all their frevor and to secure their backing and money. The new shine will wear off soon enough. No wonder they've kept her away from questions.
Anyone who compares this interview to any that Obama has done can't tell the difference between considering your answers and reguritating them.
This is the way I look at this situation. Hilary was my choice, Obama I dont think is ready. McCain is without a doubt vetted. Now I am an ex Dem. I dont beleive in alot of what the republicans stand for. But If Sara Palin in the future has to fill McCains shoes, I look at it this way, shes more qualified than Bush ever was, or Cheny or Obama. She at least has a level head, and thinks before she acts. I think she will be just fine.
