Palin says she didn't hesitate to take VP slot

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/POLITICS/09/11/palin.abc/art.palinalaska.ap.jpg caption="Gov. Sarah Palin arrived back in Alaska on Wednesday night."](CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she "didn't blink" when Sen. John McCain offered her the Republican vice presidential nomination and is confident she could handle the duties of president if necessary.

"I answered him yes, because I have the confidence in that readiness and knowing that you can't blink," Palin told ABC News in her first interview since accepting the No. 2 slot on the GOP ticket.

"You have to be wired in a way of being so committed to the mission, the mission that we're on - reform of this country and victory in the war. You can't blink. So I didn't blink then even when asked to run as his running mate," she said.

    Our family watched the interview
    It was amazing
    My mom comments
“when she leave me in the daycare she always had some kind of feeling kind of pain in the heart she want make sure I am comfortable when I am comfortable she is happy”

“My country also my child I want make sure who can take care of that she more comfortable with Mc Cain than Obama”

After watching Palin interview she made her mind to vote for Mc Cain

Life long democrats and strong Hillary supporters will vote for Mc Cain

    Mc Cain/Palin 08

"Perhaps you wouldnt mind living in fear of constant terroism like that of Israel."

No I fear ignorant and angry conservatives like you who fear terrorism from one of our staunchest allies. Yikes!

This woman is a nightmare, and McCain is a disgrace.

I predict that when this election is over you people will find yourself in a minority. Obama is proving just how unready he is for the white house by his sexist remarks and his hysteria about Palen. He needs to get down to issues and cut the attacks by his people against Palen. The way he is going he is giving the election to the republicans.

That makes me very happy because Obama scares me to death.

Why are Bush/ McCain/ Palin so obsessed with demonstrating resolve? Isn't the smart thing to do with a big decision (like joining a presidential ticket) to talk it over with your family and think things through? I'm tired of impulsive, half-baked decision-making in Washington!

  9. William, from Cali!

I think at first she wished she had not taken the slot! But as the convention went on, things changed; now with all this "female vp madness" and Hillary being a Democratic has-ran, she and the rest of those Repubs thinks they've made the right choice.........America will see!

    Ready, willing and able! 🙂

Governor Palin is much more ready to be president than Obama.

Obama has no governing experience, and has a paper thin resume. He is an extreme left-wing guy selected by the media and the democratic party.

Obama's world view clashes with mainstream America! He is the narcissistic, arrogant egomaniac with the extreme views that are way out of touch with mainstream Americans! 🙁

I am a former democrat and Hillary supporter who will vote for McCain/Palin! They will deliver the authentic reforms Americans can believe in and do it with integrity! 🙂

Her interview was terrible. It was obvious she had canned responses ready and anytime she was pressed or asked an unexpected question...she didn't know what she was talking about. Pathetic.

  14. CHANGE our mindset

Why is America always fighting? When was the last time you heard of France, China, Germany, Italy being at war with another country? Everyone is proud of our troops, but do we have USE them all the time? WAR COSTS MONEY AND LIVES PEOPLE. I'm sick and tired of fighting, sooner or later we won't have anyone to go fight for America and then it'll be CHECKMATE!!!!!!

Are you kidding me? After reading from the same tired scripted convention speech for the past 2 weeks, are we to seriously believe that these responses actually came from her own head? It's no secret that she was being prepped by Bush operatives on the ecomomy and foreign policy. Get real! This whole thing was orchestrated my the McCain campaign to paint her in the most positive light. Can we have some REAL INTERVIEWS on Meet the Press, Hardball, and Face The Nation, please?

What was she so afraid of in that interview. I love how she had no idea what the Bush Doctrine was, but tried to fake her way through it. What a joke.

She didn't blink . . . ? Well there you have it. She must be ready to be commander-in-chief. After all, bravado and confidence is all that's necessary to have the most powerful position in the world.

Welcome President Palin. Here's your map of the world. Please take a few weeks to locate key countries. Here are your talking points. Please don't fall off script.

Don't worry, we have advisors for you. You don't need to know economics, foreign affairs, diplomacy, law, ethics. We have a group of people that will make your choices for you. We wouldn't trust a C student who has served the least populist state in the union with 300 million lives. We're sure you're a wonderful person, BUT WE'RE NOT THAT STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  25. Independent Me

I am continually amazed at the nonsensical, angry outbursts by certan people (Democrats). How can anyone support Obama, yet question Palin's experience? That is completely illogical as Palin has more EXECUTIVE, LEADERSHIP experience than Obama. Obama has never run anything. Being in charge, making the decisions AND taking responsibility for those decisions is something Obama has never done, but Palin has. This is a woman who has been the executive in charge for many years and she is ready.
