Palin says she didn't hesitate to take VP slot

Sarah Palin says she "didn't blink" when Sen. John McCain offered her the Republican vice presidential nomination and is confident she could handle the duties of president if necessary.
"I answered him yes, because I have the confidence in that readiness and knowing that you can't blink," Palin told ABC News in her first interview since accepting the No. 2 slot on the GOP ticket.
"You have to be wired in a way of being so committed to the mission, the mission that we're on - reform of this country and victory in the war. You can't blink. So I didn't blink then even when asked to run as his running mate," she said.

Accepting an invitation to be a VP nominee is what any politician would do, it's a heartbeat away of the pinnacle of politics. But...
Obama is truly something special. I'm surprised he's not furious with McCain after McCain's recent ad, the most deplorable ad I've seen in American politics in my lifetime. (Everyone should know which ad I mean.) He was cordial and kind, as he should be on a day of remembrance and mourning.
It's nice to know we can have a little breather and remind ourselves we're all part of the same country, and that the more we conceive of each other as enemies, the more any true enemies can take advantage of us.
PS – Any "democrat" for McCain can be only one of three things: A liar, a fool or a racist. Voting McCain/Palin goes against everything Democrats stand for, especially when we have two great champions running for the Democratic party. I have no problem with sticking with your party; Republican, Democrat, Independent or other; genuinely based on beliefs and values. But stop lying. Stop calling each other names, and stop making enemies of your fellow Americans. Please.

First off, let me say that I am an ardent supporter of Obama / Biden, so those Republican supports that read this can tak this however you wish to take this....
From what I have read of the transcripts an heard via video clip, she seems to take direction from handlers very well. I think it is very telling that she says she didn't even blink, when McCain asked her to be VEEP, hummmmm no thought of how this may effect your family? No thought to how this would effect your home state? Not a single pause to examine if you really really have what it takes to do the job?

This is the very reason we are in a War right now... because the current Republican Administration did not pause to think, they did not "Blink" as you say to determine if this was the right thing to do.
That is the very reason we are in the dire economic conditions we are in.
That is the very reason this Country is experiencing the problems abroad that we are.
Gov. Palin, do you know what happens to your eyes when you don't blink? They become dirty, you loses focus, you develop tunnel vision, you lose periperal vision , and eventually you lose the ability to see what you were looking at in the first place.
We cannot afford a POTUS / VPOTUS that are so "committed" that they refuse to see the forest for the trees.
We need a leader that will examine all possible solutions, that has shown wise judgement, sound logical thinking, a willingness to do what is necessaryt to safegaurd this great nation and its people, but not blindly and without thourough consideration.
I for one, do not want someone who pushes the button first, and asks the questions later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's obvious that the media is consumed with bringing this woman down. Since her nomination by Sen. McCain, it's apparent by the polls that this team presents a legitimate threat against Obama/Biden. Those who support the Democratic team will do their utmost to scandalize her in any way possible. The media seems to be coming out with a new allegation every day and one wonders exactly how many people they have in Alaska researching her history. From what I saw, I think she did very well. She certainly interviews alot better than Obama, who comes across as hesitant and unsure. Her answers were crisp and confident. But let's wait till we see the interview in full.

Oh my, now I'm REALLY scared! Sometimes people have so much confidence and bravado that it sounds like they know what they're talking about. She was clearly coached, and anything that wasn't in the "lesson plan" was fumbled terribly. She did not answer the questions that Charlie posed, and she danced around and around them. Props to Charlie for pressing her for specific answers, which were never forthcoming. She may get an "A" for Washington-speak, but she flunked the knowledge and readiness test in my book! Awful!

The God I love and worship would NEVER use religion for politics just to win. I and many other Christians are deeply offended that you have taken it upon yourself to 'reform' the world claiming it's in the name of our loving God.
