Biden son no longer a federal lobbyist

(CNN) – Hunter Biden – the second son of Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden – has informed congressional officials that he is resigning his job as a federal lobbyist.
In a letter dated August 25, two days after Biden’s father was announced as Barack Obama’s running mate in Springfield, Illinois, Biden writes that as of that date, “I no longer expect to act as a federal lobbyist.”
The letter also lists the nine clients that Biden lobbied for, including six universities. The other three are two pharmaceutical companies and a law firm that represents an internet gambling company.
Obama refuses donations from lobbyists and has repeatedly slammed Republican nominee John McCain for hiring former corporate lobbyists into senior campaign positions. The Democrat’s campaign launched a new multimedia offensive Saturday highlighting what they called “John McCain’s ties to DC Lobbyists.”
The senior Biden has insisted that his son has never lobbied him, and has claimed that he is the only senator who doesn’t meet with lobbyists.

RNC spokesman Alex Conant called Hunter Biden's letter "another example of Obama's words not matching his actions."
"Obama speaks against special interest, but he doesn't stand up to them, as evidenced by his selection of a Washington insider like Joe Biden," said Conant. "The disconnect between Obama's rhetoric and record undermines any claims to being an agent of 'change' and will hurt him this fall."
Biden spokesman David Wade fired back at the RNC, saying “The McCain campaign and their henchmen at the RNC have broken their own world record for sleaze and scum, attacking the children of the candidates after spending weeks decrying perceived media slights of their own families.
"Joe Biden’s been standing up to the big powerful interests in Washington for thirty five years while John McCain has voted their agenda again and again," continued Wade. "Hunter Biden could’ve gone anywhere after college but chose the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and the inner city, gave up a big job in corporate America to work in public service for the Clinton Administration, and has represented colleges, universities, and hospitals. I’d put his character up against the attack dogs of the McCain campaign any day and come out a winner.”

All lobbyist should be banned, that is what made 99% of the politician crooked.All they think about is how much they can get out of the lobbyist to fill their pockets, not what the public that put them in office needs.
That's right, he doesn't accept money from lobbyists, he gives them money to go to school so they can become lobbyists. Methinks it strange that he would want to contribute in any way to that evil occupation.

The lobbying system is a sickness of Washington. It should simply become erased. The voters influence should matter not the lobbyists money behind closed doors.
Joe Biden said that he and his wife earned a relatively small amount –a mear 320,000, I wish I made that much and so does a hell of lot of other people. He is paid by us tax payers to work as a senator, so how in the world is it legal for him to also work at a university at the same time–or maybe more at the university/
Funny how it is okay to go after Biden's son but Palin's daughter whose (fiance) child's father is a self professed red-neck and high school drop out are off limits. As soon as Obama loses in November, he can become a lobbyist again. What really seems to eptiomize the Obama campaign is opportunism. An opportunist candidate is not the real deal.
In running the sleaziest campaign since South Carolina in 2000 and standing by completely debunked lies on national television, it's clear that John McCain would rather lose his integrity than lose an election.

Sen Biden is a real man. I used to watch both Biden and McCain on TV a lot. Now my eyes hurt when I see McCain. How can he change so much in a year? It's frightening.
So Biden's Son gives up a lucrative carrer in order to make it clear that his Father is untainted. And Dad, Joe Biden is less wealthy than any other member of Congress. To me the conclusion is clear. Biden is the most honest man in Washington DC and unlike McBush. Is truly in a position tp bring change.

See real leaders by example, I applaud Hunter Biden and the family.. Unlike McCain who has at least 7 lobbyists on his staff and even Palin hired a lobbyist. So who is the true leaders here? Obama/Biden of course as its obvious....

1. Palin said 'thanks but no thanks' to the Bridge to nowhere only AFTER it was clear Congress would NOT fund it.
2. Palin is against abortion in the cases of RAPE and INCEST (only supports it IF the mother's live is in danger).
3. Palin has serious DOUBTS about the role of human activities in causing global warming.
It is really telling how uninformed the people that are polled are.
Sleazy McCain often speaks a lot against lobbyists but has employed dozens of them. A former Fannie Mae lobbyist works for his campaign right now.

McCain and his supporter have not one ounce of decency or honor when it comes to character. At least Obama and Biden can actually say they have more integrity and morals when it comes to actually helping americans than what the McCain ticket could ever claim.Sleaze and lies is all these people can claim. And then 48 to 49% of Americans still support them. Like my grandfather use to say, there is no accounting for some peoples lack of intelligence.
I think Hunter Biden did the right thing and showed some integrity. At least he wasn't lobbying for oil companies.
