caption="Palin and her husband Todd appeared in Alaska Saturday."] ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) - Sarah Palin’s most recent visit to Alaska may have been her last – at least until Election Day.
At a rally in Anchorage on Saturday morning, there was a wistful note in Palin’s voice as she spoke about the coming weeks of campaigning.
Her speech came after spending two days in her home state doing an interview with ABC News and seeing her eldest son off to Iraq. Palin spent two nights at her home in Wasilla overlooking Lake Lucille.
“We've got a little travel planned for the next 52 days,” Palin said, “but I'll be home come November and I would like to bring along my friend - our friend Senator John McCain as the President-elect.”
The governor said she will take comfort in having her husband Todd at her side throughout the campaign. And she promised to keep Alaska in mind while on the road.
Palin noted that she has been criticized for governing a sparsely populated state, but, she said, “thank you God for that, because we’re small enough to be family.”
“So Alaska, the lessons you have taught me in these years of service as a mayor and as a commissioner and then as a governor, I thank you for what you have instilled in me,” she said. “There is no better place to come from than Alaska.”
At the airport before departing for a campaign stop in Reno, Nevada, Palin hugged family members goodbye on the tarmac and waved to television cameras before taking off.
I wonder if she brought her children along? I cannot imagine willingly being away from my children for 52 days. I had to have cancer treatments away from home for several weeks and it was the most miserable time of my life....not because of the treatments...but because I missed my kids so bad I thought I would not survive. I had to make the trip home every weekend just to see them.
Dear friends I do not like to say this but i feel abit force to. If only in case Americans vote J. M and S. P. as president and next vice president of America will simple mean Americans are "dogs"; can't make a difference between poison and non poison bones. Americans any mistake from you this time you will be doomed. so please dear friends it is high time to stand for a new drection. MAY GOD BLESS the world
Since Sarah is bringing the "First Dude" along, why don't she give him the mike. It is no mistake that Michelle Obama can talk before MILLIONS of Americans on prime time TV, and in small towns and big cities, and speak so Eloquently (well she did graduate from Princeton University as did her goregeous Husband) on behalf of her husband." I would just love to hear what olde Toddy has to say as to why his Sarah should the next Vice President of the United States, if he can say anything that makes sense or has any grit to it at all.
Give me a break! You are a FRAUD!
Gov Palin coming back to campaign no doubt has the Obama camp scared witless. Expect them to throw more dirt her way....but what they do not get is that each and every time they do so they lose more votes.
Who cares???
That's one of the reason she is so well received and liked, Sarah has the ability to treat strangers as family and she sees the rest of America as her extended family.
I guess she will come back and say she visited Alaska like she lied about Iraq Visited Mexico but it was on vacation in addition to a visit to Ireland except it was a refueling stop, Based on those suppositions my 22yrs flying in the navy i have visited half the world during refueling stops. She will be a good replacement for Cheney no one ever knew if or when he was telling the truth or using Palins pattern of deceit. I am sure there is more to come out. When you live lies it is hard to remember where the truth is.
Pallin is by far the most amaizing and an example to all the ladies in the face of the earth.a woman is needed along side a man in the whitehouse to help govern this great country.I can't wait to see her being swon in as vp come november. Sareh, you are a blessing and we love you and admire you big time. Sarah from pa.
I pray that Sarah does not make it to Washington. If she does, we are in trouble!!! I am a femle Sarah..so can't call this a sexist comment...Take that one!! Go Obama!!
Don't count your chickens before they hatch Ms. Palin...You and good old McCain might be heading back to Alaska with your tails between your legs come November!! Or maybe McSame can come visit you in jail after your charged for abusing your office (but I'm sure John fixed that for you too!)
We native american women from the lower 48 love you Sara!! - you go girl!!!
McCain will hold her hand again and will we hear the lipstick on a pig speach zzzzzzzzz
