Cindy McCain: Tough interviewers 'picked our bones clean'

(CNN) -Cindy McCain, wife of Republican presidential nominee John McCain, criticized the media at a weekend fundraiser, telling supporters that the hosts of The View “picked our bones clean.”

"In spite of what you see …in the newspapers, and on shows like The View - I don't know if any of you saw The View yesterday, they picked our bones clean - in spite of what you see, that's not what the American people are saying and what they are believing," said McCain, in a recording obtained by ABC News. "They are now seeing a clear difference with these candidates, and they are seeing who is going to make the best president, and that's why we're pulling ahead."

John McCain had a tough exchange with the hosts of The View during a recent appearance, during which he was pressed on the credentials of running mate Sarah Palin, claims in his campaign ads that co-host Joy Behar called “lies,” and how many houses he and his wife own.

You think the press is hard on your hubby just wait until God gets a hold of him and his running mate for immorality and lies.

Perhaps the Republican party got too used to the press capitulating to the Bush administration for the past eight years. Hopefully, they are all ashamed enough at how they've been castrated that they will continue to actually do their jobs and press for real information.

Everyone must admit that The View is bias to Obama except for that one alibi they have, who they love to push to tears. The View got Cindy, Obama, Michelle and now McCain as host. Cindy they were distantly polite too, since Obama was winning in the polls, Obama they fondled, Michelle they went gaga over and McCain they took turns attacking from all sides. Under the circumstances I say he did okey in a room full of enemies.

Awwww, those poor Republicans have had it so rough, while little Johnny McCain has been such a BOY SCOUT in this race!

Come on Cindy, don't wallow in the mud with the rest of your team. Those $30,000 outfits just can't take it.

Oh Boo-Hoo! The big mean girls are picking on my poor defenseless honey! For crying out loud, put your big-girl panties on and quit whining!

Despite what you would have us believe, Mrs. McCain, tough questions on the issues and accountability for all-out lies is very much what American voters are interested in hearing. Not the same scripted lies repeated yet again, which is exactly what your husband tried to spoon feed us.

Stop whining Cindy. Can't you feel the walls crumbling around you and your lying husband. Victory is in the Obama camp. If God is for you, he is more than the whole world against you. Obama will win in November.

No way, No how, No McCain/Palin.

It's an election, Cindy. Not a cake walk. If you're going to lie and you cannot handle the women of the VIEW questioning you and your husband and whether or not you're honest..then you might as well drop out of the race now and hand it to Obama. At least he answers questions and criticisms and doesn't stomp his foot at journalists, who are just doing their job, like the McCain camp. Their job is to educate the public and inform them when a candidate is lying. This goes for both sides of the political spectrum. The media will call you out when you lie, and they have. Just answer the questions and be honest. Oh, wait. Are Republicans capable of telling the truth?

I guess cindy thought her and her husband weregoing to get a free ride on the view. Big mistake, this is not the old mike dougles show. Maybe there you can do a song and dance, but times have changed, you better come ready .

Thank God there are people willing to ask those tough questions! It is a shame there are so many people out there willing to believe John McCain & Company's lies. We need more media like the View ladies who want to the know the real facts!!!

McCain expects to be treated like a king because he was a POW. I don't understand what is meant by the term "War Hero." John Mccain is the most dishonorable man alive. After returning from prision, he left his wife for a younger woman. He thought it was cute how he lied to her in order to get what he wanted. That is just want he is doing to the American people. He is making up lies about his and Palin's records to seduce the American people into electing him as president.

Go pop some pills Cindy. And yes the number of houses you own does matter in this election when we're facing a housing crisis and a candidate who claims to understand what average Americans are going through can't recall how many he owns.

So the candidate who decries "celebrity" goes on the "celebrity shows" and gets confronted with the truth and then cries foul? Ok McSame has sold his soul and has no honor in moving into the White House. Congrats Johnny Boy – selling out your fellow soldiers by not supporting the GI Bill and leaving vets struggling. And the View is tough?

If McCain had only answered their questions instead of beating around the bush and trying to change the subject, then the women on "The View" would not have seemed so harsh. They just wanted real answers to their questions, not the same old bs answers that McCain is getting so good at giving. Also, if McCain gets rattled by a couple of women on "The View", then I definately have no confidence in him handling problematic dictators or rogue leaders in this world!

When did it become illegal to ask the Republicans ANYTHING!?!?!?

She is one hundred percent correct. I saw the episode and it was pathetic seeing those hosts tear into McCain. It's obvious that they fawn over obama and would never even near the level vicsiousness with him. Obama used dirtier tricks than McCain has including infusing race into the primaries when he ran against Hllary. Behar in particular is so disgustingly biased. I am a democrat but I put country before party.

why don't they question obama about why he went to Tony Rezko for help, was he his only friend. why don't they ask obama why he doesn't believe in buying his children christmas and birthday gifts. this charade with obama as gone on long enough. why are we asked to elect a person who the media are afraid to vett?

Though I usually enjoy interviews on The View, I was disappointed with some of the irrelevant questions.

Contrary to popular belief, the number of houses the McCain's own is a personal matter and has absolutely nothing to do with the future of our country...

Let's keep this election in perspective: on the issues and the well-being of this country. We need to be discussing what each candidate will bring to the table, and not the silly, personal details. This election is much too important to take small things out of proportion.

Did anyone see how poor Cindy snapped when asked how many homes they owned? The McCains pretend to be just ordinary folks, but ordinary folks do not have a 100 million dollar liquor fortune and seven homes.

Like the old saying goes, if you can't stand the heat.....stay out of the elections.
