Cindy McCain: Tough interviewers 'picked our bones clean'

(CNN) -Cindy McCain, wife of Republican presidential nominee John McCain, criticized the media at a weekend fundraiser, telling supporters that the hosts of The View “picked our bones clean.”

"In spite of what you see …in the newspapers, and on shows like The View - I don't know if any of you saw The View yesterday, they picked our bones clean - in spite of what you see, that's not what the American people are saying and what they are believing," said McCain, in a recording obtained by ABC News. "They are now seeing a clear difference with these candidates, and they are seeing who is going to make the best president, and that's why we're pulling ahead."

John McCain had a tough exchange with the hosts of The View during a recent appearance, during which he was pressed on the credentials of running mate Sarah Palin, claims in his campaign ads that co-host Joy Behar called “lies,” and how many houses he and his wife own.

Thank God someone has the nerve to call McCain on all his lies. That's all you get on any program anymore...talking heads spinning the same old stuff. They should wire them all to lie detectors before they start talking.

If you go in to a hornet's nest, you'll get stung. I give them credit for going on the show, It showed less about what Mccain is about, but alot more about those, out of touch babes are about.

I don't know why I keep sitting inshock out what is said from McCain's camp. The media is only doing their job and it amazes me how people who live off the governement, like McCain, criticize it so harshly. I am so glad that there are those who are pushing back and challenging the lies that the Republicans are spewing. As the days progress, I pray that the American people will see the truth and know that Obama/Biden are who we need in the White House.

We all know that McCain is not a good a talker but a real good doer. So there is nothing new to prove that he can not talk.

This is straight to David Peter. Same on you. As a Vietnamese, I know quite well that both Mr. and Mrs McCain have done lots of good things to poor and handicaped Vietnamese childen as well as children around the world. They do not need small moneys and cheating as you feel from the bottom of your own heart.

Awwww – Poor John – the media was ignoring him so he is throwing tantrums and anything else he can to keep his name in the news.

John S. McCain is ONE SICK PERSON. Mentally.

Most of the corrections on false statements never reach the same people that hear and see the lies, and if they are told over and over people sart to believe them the lies as truth.

I commend the ladies of the view in having the "guts" to ask the hard questions, confront the lies and ask for the truth.

I thought the Democrats were the whiners! McCain loves hiding behind the skirts of beauty queens, doesn't he? His spokesman says that they don't care about running a lying and sleazy campaign. Do they not think that people would call them out on it?

There is a penalty to pay for lying, McCain.

Ok, so did they think going on " The View " would be easy?? Just because Elisebeth bash Michelle Obama at the RNC convention doesn't mean the rest off The View women aren't going to question your stance on the issues... AHHH
I think its aweful that the view had to ask the tough questions that the media wasn't. Mccains just lie lie lie to the american people... ITs pathetic....

Cindy McCain wanted a softball interview. What she and John Mccain got was an honest debate. Palin and McCain have been using sound bites and attacks to stop talking about the issues. Palin is religious righty whose record on women's issues is appalling. Charging rape victims for their own rape kits is cruel and unfair!

should they not pick your bones clean?

Should they take it easy on you and ignore the rampant lying of your husbands campaign?

If Palin loses the election, she goes back to being the Governor of the State of Alaska. If McCain loses the election, he goes back to being the great Senator from Arizona who never held back a thought or a punch.

If Obama loses the election, he goes back to voting PRESENT on any controversial bill that crosses his desk. I don't know HOW the rest of the nation can feel they know Obama WHEN ILLINOIS DOESN'T EVEN KNOW OBAMA.

People PLEASE... close your ears, open your eyes and read his voting record. And prepare yourself for a surprise because this man has sat on the fence the entire time. Sad...

It is time for Mrs. Obama to get in it, since the media doesn't protest Cidy's sudden interest in this race, they should have no issue with Michell standing up for her husband.Would they now! Hillary was right (SNL)get some balls. That is, the media get same balls!

The first piece of real journalism in a long time (and from a day time talk show no less) makes the McCains cry. Of course it does. It was real, hard hitting, and about time.

Shut up, put up, or get the hell out of my country.

Good for the View is very hard when you are pressed to tell the truth isn't it? Oh they picked our bones clean – I see Barbie still has her skin. Oh poor me, can't they see we are sick of those games?

The media are vultures. It's become obvious.
The Obama supporters are vultures. They come on message boards and spew political vomit all over the rest of us.

The voters don't like the media or the Democrats.
That's why McMaverick is pulling away.

Please show me where The View questioned Obama and his wife like that. This is why regular people are saying that the media is in the tank for them. Their are a lot of questions that must be answered about Mr. Obama before regular people will be ready to vote for him. So lets all be real about this situation and maybe your candidate may have a chance to win.

If only they stuck it to BOTH candidates, instead of doing what they always do.....

I mean, Obama's neck would get sore without his pillow.
