Cindy McCain: Tough interviewers 'picked our bones clean'

(CNN) -Cindy McCain, wife of Republican presidential nominee John McCain, criticized the media at a weekend fundraiser, telling supporters that the hosts of The View “picked our bones clean.”

"In spite of what you see …in the newspapers, and on shows like The View - I don't know if any of you saw The View yesterday, they picked our bones clean - in spite of what you see, that's not what the American people are saying and what they are believing," said McCain, in a recording obtained by ABC News. "They are now seeing a clear difference with these candidates, and they are seeing who is going to make the best president, and that's why we're pulling ahead."

John McCain had a tough exchange with the hosts of The View during a recent appearance, during which he was pressed on the credentials of running mate Sarah Palin, claims in his campaign ads that co-host Joy Behar called “lies,” and how many houses he and his wife own.

Joy Behar was on Larry King and has become another hired gun for CNN – whether she's hired or not. It's too bad because she seemed to be someone who had independent thinking – now she's just one more shill singing Obama's praises – the View is pro-Obama – you have two Blacks and Walters who had an affair with a Black. The View is as biased as CNN – is that possible? Yes.

I am so sorry for you. The women on The View inconvenienced you. Hey Cindy, do you think McCain's first wife was inconvenienced when you made him cheat on her?

  5. that girl is crazy

gee.. cindy.. if i could ask your husband questions, they would be very similar to the ones asked and implied by the ladies on the view.. on top of some other more serious questions... which i am sure your husband would try to joke and smile his way out of.. should people be taking easy on the person that is applying for the most important job in our country.. if so, i need to remember that the next time i go to interview for a job..

look at me.. i am a POW/woman.. play nice.. even though i dont..

get a grip cindy, he your husband cant handle whoopi, barbara and joy, then he shouldnt be our president. hopefully even a crazy rich "other woman" can figure that out. lol, but then again, you are a republican,, so prob not.

I agree those 3 has beens WA WA, Whoppi, and the Bett Midler double were horrendous and aren't a good representation of women in America. It looked like they just had McCAin on to insult him because he picked Palin as VP how utterly high schoolish. Walters use to be admired years ago but has taken giant steps backwards being on this show.

Most Americans have lost any respect for the media... what they did to HRC just to advantage Obama made may cringe.

We ain't falling for that again.

I'm not knocking Cindy McCain, but why is it that whenever the Republicans have to answer a question, they think the media is unfair? John McCain defends the outright lies in his ads, then pretends that Palin is not taking earmark money in Alaska. Has he totally lost his mind? Or does he think that he can just make up anything and the press will be too meek to challenge him? He is unworthy. Eight years of a congenital liar in the White House is enough.

I guess even though the truth hurts even they (McCain and wife) just don't get it.....! It's apparent that if you have difficulty answering easy questions you're trying to avoid them.

How dare people expect you to tell the truth and defend your positions? Just who do they think they are? Voters??????

It's only going to get worse with a running mate who is severely allergic to the truth and so avoids it like a plague.

There's still some meat on those old bones, you know, the meat Cindy stole in an affair with a married man, the meat she stole from her foreign charity organization, etc.

Lots of skeletons and bones still lying around the McCains' closet.

I thought you both did pretty well.

No one could have survived it any better.

Obama gets fawned over- EVERONE else is the enemy of Obama and thus the enemy of the media.

That's not why you're pulling ahead, you're pulling ahead cos of constant lies. It's also sad that the American people can be fickle and will easily believe those lies.

This has got nothing to do with tough media or biased reporting and everything to do with the American people having the right to kick the tires and ask the tough questions from a candidate who has been consistent only in his continual lying to the American people. Couple this with blanket smear ads and a bit of wholesome Hockey Mom sacharrine eye candy for distraction and you have a dead heat. God forbid they do ask you the real questions as then you will be shown as what you truly are: a redeundant party and a confused out of touch man who is well meaning but in effect just more of the same old tired old boy network in Washington. Im from England and even I can see that!

I think some people are attracted to a Palin ticket because they are hurting in the current Bush economy and want their pain to end now.
I think those people will be disappointed and disillusioned.

Many of the Republicans stike me as angry people (Rudy G, Tom Delay).

    Hopefully, McCain,72, will retire now.

Hey Cindy, you can stick lipstick on a pig and call it whaa, whaa, boo hoo, the big bad media is against us and I am goose stepping my Grey haired old guy's talking point, but it is still a pig. Stick to designer dresses and $250,000 pieces of jewelry because when it comes to anything McFlip-McFlop-Mcsame tells you to say about the media it makes you look like the moron he is...
