Cindy McCain: Tough interviewers 'picked our bones clean'

(CNN) -Cindy McCain, wife of Republican presidential nominee John McCain, criticized the media at a weekend fundraiser, telling supporters that the hosts of The View “picked our bones clean.”

"In spite of what you see …in the newspapers, and on shows like The View - I don't know if any of you saw The View yesterday, they picked our bones clean - in spite of what you see, that's not what the American people are saying and what they are believing," said McCain, in a recording obtained by ABC News. "They are now seeing a clear difference with these candidates, and they are seeing who is going to make the best president, and that's why we're pulling ahead."

John McCain had a tough exchange with the hosts of The View during a recent appearance, during which he was pressed on the credentials of running mate Sarah Palin, claims in his campaign ads that co-host Joy Behar called “lies,” and how many houses he and his wife own.

No, Cindy, you are not pulling ahead!. The projected electoral votes favors Obama. But if you'd like to keep an eye on the polls vs. the electoral college then fine, go right ahead. Whatever makes you feel good. But please know that in the end Barack will have the 270 electoral votes needed to clinch the People's House (White House).

Oh my goodness – cry me a river. If her & John don't like it then here is a novel idea – don't lie in your campaign ads and when confronted about lying, then don't lie again.

The View was fair but firm with McCain and called him on his record.
Of course the GOP will not let Palin anywhere near the View. No we must be subjected to a Palin and Sean Hannity love fest. The first thing the View would do would be to present Palin with the Long List of persons whom she has fired in Alaska just because they did not share her radical view points. And the almost as long list of personal friends Palin has hired that are not qualified for their jobs. Like Palins High School Pal she hired as Director of Agriculture whose only listed qualification was a " love of Cows as a child". In my State the Commisioner of Agriculture has a Masters Degree and twenty years of experience in the industry.

When you don't have to cover anything up, you don't have to worry about your "bones being picked clean".

If she was Mrs. Obama, people would blow a gasket, writing in multiple complaints. However, we are talking about a Mul;timillionaire by her parent's, who do not kow how many homes she has.

Must be nice, while others struggle to hold on to thiers.

If some people want more of this, more of the same, they must think like mcCain.

    America is at a crossroad

For the sake of the free world, we better get it right.

    Obama Biden has already won

Soon you will see it comming into manifestation

Be on the right side of history, not the left behind, as America comes together as a light tower for the world, Global Change by the people.

Many people can't imagine this country being in worst shape economically or internationally but we better start realizing it. McCain/Palin will be different for sure–America the 3rd world country owned by China and punked by Russia and the Middle East. Imagine it and get used to it.

I find it unbelievable that the Mccains are getting away with lies and hypocracy. He did not put his country first when he picked Palin, he went straight for the evangelical right that he needs to win over, and they feel for it hook line and sinker. He continues to lie about her record as a reformer. Her appointment of her close personal friend to head Alaska's Ag. Dept. parallels Bush's appointment of Brownie to head FEMA. Reformer? I think not. He continues to lie about such things as Obama supporting sex education to kindergartners and Palins quote just say no to the bridge to nowhere: She said no to the bridge but yes yes yes to the money. The media needs to stop focusing on lipstick and pigs and do your job: tell us the candidates stance on the issues. People, Democrats or Republicans want change. I pray that all Americans do not vote on single issues, like guns, abortion, and gay rights, what did that get us last time? The stakes are too high.

  12. Paying Attention

The McCain campaign has been lying in some recent TV ads and now someone has the courage to ask them about it. I am glad Joy asked McCain about the obvious lies. America needs to know what is going on. The View is a good place to be seen by many American women.

I am glad it came to light. I hope America will research what is true and what are lies.

  13. Sick of McCain/Palin Ticket

People may be seeing "differences" between the two candidates; however, the differences that they see are through the prisms of out and out lies and racism. John "Pinocchio" McCain definitely would not make a better president than Barack Obama. McCain needs to stand on his own two feet and stop using Sarah as his crutch, his security blanket.

For such a time as this, Barack Obama is clearly the more suitable of the two candidates to become the next President of the United States of America. Wake Up America! Arise from you slumber! It is now time to forsake fear and racism! The future of our great nation is at stake. Forsake racism!

What are they afraid of???!!!!## This is part of the process of becoming President of the United States! The American People can see through your lies!!! If the Mc Cains can't take " The View " hosts questions, then how can J. Mc Cain run the free world?

This "dodging" questions is the "Bush Doctrine" do we really need 4 more years of this?

I want to begin by stating that this is an opinion, and I could very well be wrong. However, the more and more I hear the Republican party belittle the importance of the media, the more and more I am beginning to wonder whether or not they understand the long-term damage they are creating w/ the population's trust in their media sources. For an example, if people lose their trust in the media, what makes them listen when they're told to leave their homes because a hurricane threatens their area? These comments against the media only feed ignorance – and I think this issue should at least be researched. If the GOP wants to use the media as a symbol of what's wrong w/ this country, then they should be help responsible for the outcome of that decision. It's very scary to think about.
