[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/09/16/art.ad.cnn.jpg caption="McCain is out with a new ad touting his ability to promote the economy."](CNN) - John McCain released a new television ad Tuesday telling voters he will protect them from the nation's economic woes: "Your savings, your jobs ... I'll keep them safe."
"The economy is in crisis. Enough is enough. I'll meet this financial crisis head on," McCain says in the new ad - the first in several weeks from his presidential campaign that does not attack Obama directly.
"Reform Wall Street. New rules for fairness and honesty. I won't tolerate a system that puts you and your family at risk," he also says. "Your savings, your jobs ... I'll keep them safe."
Obama sharply criticized McCain on Monday when the Arizona senator said the fundamentals of the economy are still strong, even as the 158-year-old investment firm Lehman Brothers shocked Wall Street when it filed for bankruptcy protection. McCain later said he was referencing the strength of American workers.
yeah for those who dont live in this country!!!!
Obama Biden 2008
BULL...
God, now he's using "Enough is enough"? All other issues aside, this blatant co-opting of Obama's themes is really quite disturbing. It's a small issue, but really.
"Enough is enough" sounds familiar... Oh yeah, Obama has been saying it.
McCain is a follower, not a leader.
John McCain is the best man to keep jobs safe because:
1. He doesn't think he knows as much as he should about the economy.
2. He feels divorced from the concerns of the everyday person.
3. One of his top advisers thinks he's not qualified to run a corporation.
And last, but not least...
4. Because he invented the Blackberry!!
....................thud
The sound of people falling over after laughing too hard at this ad.
He should be ashamed of himself. What scum.
If you believe him, I too have a bridge in Alaska to sell you.
LIAR
Didn't you already try and do that for the last 20 years JMac? Well, guess what? IT DIDN'T WORK!
Time for real change!
Obama/Biden
TEMPORARY LIES FOR TEMPORARY GAIN (THE ELECTION). DON'T BUY IT AMERICA. HES' IN THE POCKETS OF OUR RICHEST CORPORATE CEO'S AND OIL COMPANIES.
PALIN IS IS SIMPLY A NICE PIECE OF POLITICAL FURNITURE...
wow is he really running out of options or what
HOW??????
ENOUGH Mr McCain... Enough pandering and tell us how you intend to do all this considering you been a part of the problem for 26 years. How? consider Phil Gramm is you advisor and he advocates for de-regulation and his de-regulation is what got us into this mess...
HOW??????
You know, now this fool is just saying anything!!! He invents the blackberry, he pulls a name out of the hat for a running mate, the economy is strong....and in his spare time he wears lipstick! Oh, and he wants to secede from the union just like Sarah.
Hey CNN – you think after Obama is elected President, you-the media could keep McCain's life events posted on the ticker so we can have something to laugh about. I have never known a person as big of a joke as McCain in my entire life.
Thanks a bunch.
How John? Tell us how you're going to do it?
If you can't, then you're just an empty vessel!
I saw that ad and it made me laugh..
The only thing mccain will meet head on is palin.
Look at his voting record. The same policies that McCain has supported over the last several years are the same policies that brought our economy to its current situation. If he is president you will see the same economic trend from the last 8 years repeated over the next 4 years. He has publicly admitted on several occasions that the economy is not his strongpoint.
Meanwhile his campaign is saying that the president shouldn't be invovled in policy specifics, that it should be done by qualified advisers. It's obvious that if McCain were elected, he wouldn't be doing anything but turning over the running of the government to advisers. Who would they be? The same people who brought us 8 years of George Bush. Thanks, but no thanks!
All I can say senator John McSame is your alot of hot air and you are a professional at flip flopping .
No Thanks I will go with Senator Obama the real Change Candidate.
WHIT ALL THAT EXPERIENCE THAT MCCAIN HAVE. WILL FIX THE ECONOMY AND WE WILL DRILL , DRILL , DRILL , BABY DRILLLLL.
McCain thinks he can keep jobs safe?? How can someone who yesterday didn't even think our economy was in trouble keep jobs safe??
But you know what?? As far as I am concerned John and Sarah should just keep on talking ... sooner or later one of them will stick their foot into their mouth one too many times.
Sure ! Try again old Mac. I will never buy it.
Yah, John's got lots of experience fighting Wall Street corruption – look at the hurt he put on Charles Keating. Really taught him a lesson didn't he?
We've heard just about enough!
