NEW AD: McCain says he can keep jobs safe

McCain is out with a new ad touting his ability to promote the economy.

McCain is out with a new ad touting his ability to promote the economy.

(CNN) - John McCain released a new television ad Tuesday telling voters he will protect them from the nation's economic woes: "Your savings, your jobs ... I'll keep them safe."

"The economy is in crisis. Enough is enough. I'll meet this financial crisis head on," McCain says in the new ad - the first in several weeks from his presidential campaign that does not attack Obama directly.

"Reform Wall Street. New rules for fairness and honesty. I won't tolerate a system that puts you and your family at risk," he also says. "Your savings, your jobs ... I'll keep them safe."

Obama sharply criticized McCain on Monday when the Arizona senator said the fundamentals of the economy are still strong, even as the 158-year-old investment firm Lehman Brothers shocked Wall Street when it filed for bankruptcy protection. McCain later said he was referencing the strength of American workers.

Why do some politicians keep saying what they will do for you without outlining specifics?

Just wondering how all that Community Organizing in Chicago that Obama did has changed or helped any of the people?

Has it had any effect on the crime rate there?

    No?

    OK.

Don't know how I expect him to help 300 million people if he can't help even help a community.

...NO...Sarah's just a piece of eye candy for Fox and the 63% of white male voters that are for McCain. That's right – these men view her as a MILF!

If he can keep jobs safe, why isn't he doing it now?? And why did he tell people in Michigan that the jobs weren't coming back? I think he likes to talk the talk but when it comes time to walk the walk hes just all talk!

John McCain keep your savings safe?? HA!!! Much like John McCain kept people's savings safe in the Keating Five scandal at Lincoln Savings & Loan? (people lost their live savings and McCain was accused of using very poor judgment)... Much like John McCain's son kept the savings of people safe at the Silver State bank he ran? (the bank collapsed and required an FDIC bailout)

    Gary's comment is:

For Sen. Mc Cain is duck and cover time, again he does not say what
he will do in real terms just he will fix everything. President Bush sat
in office for 8 years and did not do much to keep an eye on these big
money folks, and here we are, what will Mc Cain do to fix the problem?

Again we default back to Gov. Palen and her ability to run the country
will all we have going on, It would be a worry for me if I were Mc Cain.

And the beat goes on, and all the while we the people are slipping away further and further in our lives.

  9. Ex-Republican for Obama

Ahh...like he did for people in Ohio recently...having them shipped over seas via the deal he brokered to have a foreign company take over the company?

Or his wife who sold Budweiser out and has already begun costing jobs here and will be HUGE loss of jobs in the year to come.

Odd, the man says it...but everything he actually DOES is in contrast to it. He straight out lies to your face...morally bankrupt old man!!

Oh no, is he about to start a "War on Unemployment"??!!!

What is this "keep our jobs safe" nonsense?

He doesn't have plan 1 for protecting jobs in this country. All he knows is the standard Republican playbook. Give as much as possible to the wealthiest, and hope they'll hire the rest of us to mow their lawns.

I am so tired of people bashing Sarah Palin because she is Governor and not as "experienced" as the Democrats would like. Need I remind the Dumbocrats that Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan were both Governors as well!!!!!!!

Becky said it best: "Enough is enough" sounds familiar… Oh yeah, Obama has been saying it.

Keep what jobs safe? According to his statement this Monday, "the fundamentals of the economy are still strong". Is this an admission to his incompetence and a subtle acknowledgment that he is indeed not in touch? Obama all the way!!!

McCain says the strength of the economy is the American worker... except we outsourced all those jobs! Unless he meant illegal Mexican workers?

McCain wants to be apart of the Obama campaign so bad. His campaign really should stop biting off Obama. Hillary tried it with the "Yes we Will" and we know what happen to her.

McCain please visit Webster Dictionary. You will discover a world of WORDS available for slogans. That way the Kingergardeners you lied on Barack about won't be calling you a COPYcater.

What a difference a day makes. From sound fundamentals to severe crisis in less than 24 hours! John McCain must have figured out how to use the internet.

Stealing slogans/ideas and telling lies is now the mandate of the Republicans. Why not just adopt Barack Obama? He'd be flattered.

Yes, he'll keep your job safe for the outsourcing in India.
Really, I don't understand why people are still supporting him. It's his party that caused the problem! He's only going to make things worse!
