Palin allies sue to halt trooper probe

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) - Allies of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin asked a judge Tuesday to halt the state Legislature's investigation into the firing of her public service commissioner, calling the probe a "McCarthyistic" inquisition.
The five Republican state lawmakers who filed suit say the leaders of the investigation "are unable to hold the balance between vindicating their own political interests and the interests of those who are being investigated."
Palin, the Republican nominee for vice president, is battling allegations that she and her advisers pressured then-Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan to fire a state trooper going through a bitter custody dispute with her sister - and that Monegan was terminated when he refused. Palin says she fired Monegan over budget issues, and denies any wrongdoing.
She originally pledged to cooperate with the investigation that a bipartisan commission of the state Legislature commissioned in July. But since becoming Sen. John McCain's running mate, campaign spokesmen have lashed out at the probe as "tainted" and "partisan."

Move forward with the investigation and when she is proven involved (which is a 100% given) then summon her to court. When she does not show, put her behind bars for a little bit.
After this, Bush can give her a complete pardon and we can move forward as planned.

There is a great deal of difference between "coming clean" and participating in an obviously politically motivated investigation. Look at the history of Obama elections. In the Illinois Senate election, he challenges the petitions of 3 other opponents, leaving him unopposed in the election. In his US Senate race, he has the divorce records of his opponent exposed at a time that does not give the Republicans time to field a credible opponent. In the primaries earlier this year, he has the votes of Michigan and Florida eliminated by the DNC, thus enabling him to maintain his momentum and secure the nomination. Then, he consents to permitting these delegates to vote at the convention. Now, his operatives are doing everything they can to discredit Sarah Palin. They know she has popped their balloon and their only option is to find a way to "eliminate" her, just as they have done in many other elections with other candidates. This time, however, their chicanery and slight of hand is not going to work. Sarah Palin, John McCain and the American people are too smart to permit such partisan political gamesmanship to prevail.
My question would be; If the only one's that she will answer are the on the board, who appointed those on the board to those positions?
That is the big question here, having looked at how she 'cleaned house' in her administration when she took over, appointing a woman who 'liked cows' as a kid to the high paid agriculture position and other various high school and church friends to positions they clearly weren't qualified for, then I have to ask, did she appoint these board members she's so willing to give testimony and evidence to?
Luster is wearing off Palin QUICK!! She lied about the bridge to no where and accepted millions in pork and earmarks. She doesnt know what the Bush doctrine is even though I understand it and Im not running for VP. This investigation proves that she is unethical and will abuse the power she is given. Besides being new she brings absolutely nothing to the table.

Sarah Palin has more skeletons in her closet than Ted Bundy. That coupled with the irrational way her supporters, who know nothing about her either, defend her makes me worried for the future of America if the Palin/McCain ticket gets elected. This really is the dumbing down of America. Who are voting for these wack jobs?

Plain not wanting to cooperate with the investigation reflects even more on the poor judgment of McCain and his staff. I don’t feel that she was properly interviewed and investigated by the McCain political staff. The Republicans since the primaries have been trying to slam both Obama and Clinton and now that they are under the microscope they want to cry foul. Maybe she is the pit bull she clams to be after all, it’s their nature to kill without mercy and if not trained properly they have the potential to be very dangerous and that’s how I see the Republican ticket, a very dangerous situation for America. Political ambition seems to be what drives the McCain/Palin ticket not the needs of the American people.

She's hiding something that's for sure...Why else would the republican's be so insistant on stopping this investigation? So she should have only republicans investigating her? Give me a break. The republicans just keep getting crazier and crazier!!!
Why isn't the media bringing up the point that the McCain camp is saying they want an impartial inquiry yet their idea of "impartial" is having the matter decided by a review board who are appointed by (and presumably answerable to) the Governor herself?
I mean, the very nature of the complaint against her should dictate that anyone under her direct influence regarding their ability to keep their job should NOT be the ones deciding her fate.
There is absolutely no proof that the invesetigation is tainted. They are just tryng to stall.
Only in America could a politician who is CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION for abuse of power be tapped as a VP candidate and present herself as the anti establishment who will clean up Washington.

First Gov. Palin “welcomes the investigation” and declares that she has nothing to hide; then suddenly the investigation becomes further internal; now there’s outside pressure to suppress the matter altogether. Will this be part of the “STRAIGHT TALK” we can see from Gov. Palin and John McCain when they come here to Michigan tomorrow? Somehow, I doubt it!
