Palin allies sue to halt trooper probe

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/09/16/art.palin.9.14.jpg caption="Allies of Gov. Palin are asking for a judge to half the trooper probe."]
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) - Allies of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin asked a judge Tuesday to halt the state Legislature's investigation into the firing of her public service commissioner, calling the probe a "McCarthyistic" inquisition.

The five Republican state lawmakers who filed suit say the leaders of the investigation "are unable to hold the balance between vindicating their own political interests and the interests of those who are being investigated."

Palin, the Republican nominee for vice president, is battling allegations that she and her advisers pressured then-Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan to fire a state trooper going through a bitter custody dispute with her sister - and that Monegan was terminated when he refused. Palin says she fired Monegan over budget issues, and denies any wrongdoing.

She originally pledged to cooperate with the investigation that a bipartisan commission of the state Legislature commissioned in July. But since becoming Sen. John McCain's running mate, campaign spokesmen have lashed out at the probe as "tainted" and "partisan."

Okay – why should you listen to me?
2 days before Palin was selected, B4, I posted in the CNN blogs it would be a female, pro lifer, who was relatively unknown to bounce away from the fact he was following Limbaugh's orders. (SCOOP!)
2 days after she was selected, I predicted she would resign for 'family reasons' which would just be another LIE. (SCOOP2?)
One blogger made a point I cannot take credit for but MAKES SENSE.
Think about this, she was a pick to appease Limbaugh, get a Convention turn out, ignite the right and the FAR right, then come back with his real choice, Lieberman. (SCOOP3???)

Interesting how the person who is being investigated gets to decide if the investigation is fair. Not cooperating is absurd.

If she gets away with this, I as an American will never pay another ticket, state tax, federal tax, judgment or anything else that may get me in legal trouble.

Why? Because everyone is out to get me, so I don't have to follow the law. Wow, this is nice!

only problem here is that there are MORE REPUBLICANS on this investigative board than democrats (by a 3 to 2 margin)... so, exactly whose agenda is being pushed?

This is the “Palin Doctrine.” It’s the principle of preemptive corruption.

Now when they are elected, and people start to say “hey you’re corrupt and we don’t like that.” She and ole whats-his-name go “touch.” You knew we were corrupt when you elected us so now you can’t gripe about it.

  10. SHE DID IT.... GUILTY....

Sarah, just talk to the inquiring minds and lets get on with it.. You know you fired that poor guy because he wouldn't bend to your wishes. Never mind he was probably almost ready for retirement, you fired him, ruined his life and his families, all for your political ambition.

SHE DID IT, RUINED MONEGANS LIFE, TRIED TO RUIN HER X BROTHER N LAWS LIFE..... ALL FOR HER POLITICAL AMBITIONS

Sarah, we certainly don't need your kind in the white house, because we've already had 7 years of Cheney, so just go back to Alaska and take whats coming to you...

Looks like to me that its ( McCain-Palin) already beginning to look like the Bush White House, refusing to testify and being above the law.

SHE definitely has something to hide but the press is too afraid of her to ask any real questions regarding trooper-gate investigation or her allegiance with the AIP or her religious right wing views.

If this nutjob is elected be prepared we will all have to start believeing in her church:

    1.) speaking in tongues, Possession
2.)alaska is the last land that will stand during judgement day
3.) creationism (that follows pentecostal views not including other christian views)
4.) God wages wars on other countries not people
5.) Palin is the chosen one who will lift the pentecostal church to new heights. SO they think she is their MESSIAH!!!!!!!!! How scary.

WHAT???? You're going to sue some one for investigating someone who is about to have the second most powerful job in the world for abuse of power????? THIS IS INSANE!!!! I AM COMPLETELY APPALLED!!! What has this world come to. She is obviously guilty due to her lack of cooperation into the whole matter. Now she is sueing???? Can anyone see the corruption and injustice here? Or am I just blind? Every Inquiry I had about Palin has just been answered. She is using the same horrible tactics the Bush Administration has been using for almost 8 years. God have mercy on our souls. PLEASE PEOPLE!!!! I am scared for my life, and the lives of my loved ones. Seriously, I am not joking one bit.

    CNN POST THIS PLEEEASE!

As a lifelong Republican I am finally convinced that this one time I must cross party lines and vote with the Democrats. I have two children who will be of age soon and I cannot risk sending them off to war with a commander in chief who lies and deceives the public and who shirks responsibility of office. McCain is a disappointment, but Palin is a liar and a deceiver.

I am saddened to leave my party, and I make enough money to pay higher taxes under Obama's plan, but the lives of my children are worth it.

If there is nothing to hide why is she hiding? If I didn't cooperate with an investigation I'd be locked up. Maybe she should spend some time behind bars to think about cooperating with the same laws she would be forced to impose if she was VP. Sounds like Palin don't understand what a VP is supposed to be, you can't enforce laws if you're breaking them or think you're above the law.

Then investigation started proir to her pick now that it has become a problem she doesn't want to cooperate. At first McCains press person (The one with the great smile) Said that no one would fault Palin because of what the trroper was accused of. I guess they underestimated the peoples belief in innocent before proven guilty.

Just show us all that she has something to hide and is not fit to be the Vice President. It is scary when someone who wants to be VP of The United States is trying to hide the truth and yet people are supporting this woman? Come on America wake up and see what is going on here!

It would appear that Camp McCain/Palin wants to make this a political issue in the national campaign. They need a better reason than the one they claimed today.

The format for the investigation began before she even knew what the VP of the USA actually does on a day to day basis. The people were selected prior to her being announced as nominee.

Palin just told the American people on ABC EVening News that she would fully cooperate. Her credibility just went out the window. Do you think anyone is going to notice or care?

This whole Troopergate is giving me a headache.. This all happened before, I repeat BEFORE she was a VP choice and therefore it should proceed period. She said she would cooperate and then went back on that... She is looking more and more guilty every step so far that I have seen..

Sarah Palin is just there to get the women vote and getJohn McCain in the White House. Once he is elected the investigation will continue then she will have to step down and let the real vice president choice take the seat.
