Laura Bush says Palin lacks foreign policy experience

Asked by CNN's Zain Verjee if she thought Palin's resume included sufficient foreign policy experience, Bush said, "Of course she doesn't have that."
"You know, that's not been her role," she continued, "But I think she is a very quick study, and fortunately John McCain does have that sort of experience."
The McCain campaign has pointed to Palin's gubernatorial service as head of the Alaska National Guard, part of which is deployed in Iraq, as experience in foreign policy.
But in the interview with CNN, Bush reiterated she has "a lot of confidence" in Palin.
"She's got a lot of really good common sense, and I think that's very important," Bush said. "She also has executive experience from being a governor and a mayor, and I'm thrilled to have the chance to vote for Sarah Palin on the Republican ticket."
Bush also said she agreed with those who have charged Palin is being treated unfairly because she is a woman.
"I do think there's a little bit of that going on, and I think it's to be expected," she said.
Laura Bush is in New York Wednesday promoting global literacy. She also met with political dissidents from around the world Tuesday, including a Burmese monk.

Just say it Laura, she has zero experience in everything and her voice is so irritating, I just can't stand her.

I think that it's more important to have a WELL BALANCED ticket than to have both the prez and VP noms be perfect in every way. Such a politician has surely never existed! McCain/Palin is well-balanced...he offers the legislative experience, foreign affairs know-how, and experience working with BOTH SIDES. She offers executive experience, vast knowledge of energy issues, and the guts/track record to take on members of either party for the good of the citizens. I really think they WILL change Washington and help the Republican party get back to its roots.

Foreign Policy experience isn't the only thing she is lacking. She lacks morals, information on all levels, and balanced judgement. Palin is not being treated unfairly because she is a woman but because she 1. came out of the gate and attacked Obama like a pit bull, and 2. she lies consistently.

Laura has to get Sarah Palin on her global literacy project, because we are affraid of her and her lack of knowledge . Her overconfidence which she has expressed during these few days we know her make everything about Sarah very scary.

They always say that McCain has foreign policy experience. What is that experience? When was that experience? What committee has he headed that was relevent to foreign policy? When? Being a POW doen't count. "Visiting" foreign countries doesn't count either. Unless someone can say exactly what he has done that has influenced the foreign policy of this country, I don't know what they are talking about.

So okay, let me see if I got this straight – if 72 year old geezer McCain kicks the bucket tomorrow, it's okay to have Palin on the ticket to take over – because – McCain (by then in his grave) had the experience. Laura, You are a really sweet lady and one of the best things in the Republican party. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for your husband. We need experience and intelligence in the White House to clean up the mess your husband and his cronies have made. PALIN is not the right choice for VP and was only chosen by McCain so he could try to shake up things and win the election.
