[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/09/24/art.debate.gi.jpg caption="Obama wants to press on with the debate."](CNN) - Barack Obama is 'inclined" to go ahead with the debate Friday night, campaign sources tell CNN.
McCain said Wednesday the debate should be postponed if the economic bailout has not passed congress by that time.
Obama is expected to make a statement around 4:30 p.m. ET.
Let's to with the debate
I would be inclined to debate someone as unprepared as McCain as well. Why would someone want to give him more time?
Good for him!! It's time we stop the foolishiness that the McCain campaign has been going on with.
PALIN DUCKS THE MEDIA.......MCCAIN DUCKS THE DEBATE.
THESE TWO SURE DON'T WANT TO BE ASKED ANY QUESTIONS!!!!!
Send Joe Biden to Washington to work on the bailout bill, and recommend that Sen. McCain send Gov. Palin in his place. She can really "shake things up!"
And I'm "inclined" to agree with him. Look, we all know that the economy is just an excuse because McCain is just plain McChicken.
McLiar is a COWARD, McLiar is a COWARD, McLiar is a COWARD, McLiar is a COWARD – –
Keep repeating the chant, Repugnants !
It is therapuetic !!!!!!!
Debates will not derail the bailout.
Hiding from the debates is not "putting country first"!!
YES! Make McCain debate! NO MORE DISTRACTIONS!
Good for you Barry!! There's still room for debate!!!!
I agree. The leaders in Congress can handle the issue and discussions around the 'bailout crisis'.
McCain is looking for a moratorium on campaigning or debating. One less day of that is one less day of him getting his butt kicked and losing ground to Obama.
Toss a curveball and Obama and he whiffs big time.
I could care less about the Friday debate when 700 BILLION (that's being conservative) tax payers dollars are at stake.
Go Obama/ Biden 08..........
Just continue to be and look like a true leader. McCain had 26 years to get it right! Idiot!
Not everybody is willing to put their country first.
We all know McCain is scared to face an open debate – He's just not prepared! We read earlier this week that he's taking a nonchalant attitude to debate preparation, and now he's trying to get out of it all together.
It won't work, John, the American people aren't STUPID !!
That's right Obama!!!! Stay the course! Don't back down. Debate! Debate! Debate!!!!!!
Funny, I thought accourding to McSame the "Fundimentals of the Economy were strong"
I bet he will go ahead.. what is he going to do "Debate with himself" and vote "present" one more time?
The debate is on foreign policy, supposedly Obama's weak point and McCrypt's strong suit.
So, therefore, if Obama is willing to keep the debates, so should McCrypt!
What is McCain afraid of?
Oh, I remember the truth.
Tell McLiar to go jump in a lake. This is a political stunt and no one is falling for it.
OBAMA 08
MCCAIN IS RUNNING SCARED!!!!
Painted into a corner.
Ha Ha yeah boooooooooy!!!!!!!!!! Obamo not scared!!

There is no reason not to have the debate. It is only going to take a few hours, not weeks. Why put it off over the economy issues that have been going on for weeks?
Timing is fishy on McCain's part.
