WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Bush has asked both Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama to join him for a meeting at the White House Thursday afternoon to discuss the economic bailout plan, a White House officials said.

"The President called Sen. Obama tonight around 7:30 pm," said Dana Perino, White House press secretary. "The president has invited the bicameral and bipartisan leadership, and the two senators running for president, to the White House tomorrow to work on driving to a bipartisan and timely solution."

Obama's campaign said in a statement that he has accepted the invitation.

"A few moments ago, President Bush called Senator Obama and asked him to attend a meeting in Washington tomorrow, which he agreed to do," the statement said.

"He has said that he will continue to work in a bipartisan spirit and do whatever is necessary to come up with a final solution."

A McCain adviser said McCain also plans to attend.

This is a national emergency, Right. Well then, enact the DRAFT! Draft all employees of these failing firms, give them pay equal to the military, E-1 though O-10. Hold them accountable and under the military for at least 2 years or until the problem is fixed. Do not impeach Bush and Cheney, Deport Bush and Cheney. I think Israel will take them.

I blame Bush for all of this. Why isn't the Bush administration blowing up some place in the world to shift the attention to national security and help McCain do better in the polls? I hope they are at least leaving that for when it gets closer to the election.

Once again it's going to take Barack Obama to go in with his better judgement to set things in order and he will not get the credit. Again they will say he has done nothing to help this country when he has done more in his 4 years as Senate than McCain has in his 30 years in office. My question is what has McCain done to be qualified as the next president? Don't give me he is a POW; because we have several military personnel who can say I'm a soldier and feel that I am qualified. What has he done? He's shown America that he is a liar and is the most slimmiest candidate ever to run for president. Obama will get my vote and I am campaigning day and night to get him elected. He is the only hope for this racist and sick country at this point. We can not depend on the Repugs any longer; they have destroyed this country. Even the Iraian president mocked us as say to the American Empire is coming down. This is a shame and a disgrace to this country.

What's Bush gonna do – keep Obama talking there until Saturday morning? I hope the debate goes on as planned and that McCain's desperate attempt to postpone is foiled.

If the Titanic could be raised, I would invite every democrat in Washington
to tour the once magnificent vessel.........and then find an iceburg.
Okay....okay....I'd make sure there were enough boats. Little boats for the little people.

This is political trickery of the worse kind.

McCaint has been trying to draw Obama off the campaign trail with his DECEPTIVE 'town hall meetings', which Obama wisely refuse.

Now the sneaky bush is getting into the act.
These deceptive devils will try every trick in the book to campaign ugly and govern even uglier!

President Bush is scared that, after bamboozling Congress in order to spy on Americans, wage unnecessary war on Iraq, lock up aliens in Guantanamo probably forever, etc, etc his latest grab for power, namely the unsupervised grant of $700B worth of authority to the Treasury Secretary is in trouble. I for one certainly hope Congress places realistic limits to the plan and includes help for citizens facing foreclosure and guarantees that the Treasury profits when the plan succeeds.
