John McCain and Barack Obama are currently meeting with President Bush on the economic bailout. Also seated next to the president are, from left, House Minority Leader John Boehner, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. be sure to get mccain's input. after all he was part of the keating 5. poor judgement mccain. poor judgement.
Me thinks, McCain secretly adores Obama and hopes for him to become the next president.
Gee, nice photo op.
Isn't this kind of a waste of time since there is already an agreement? Wouldn't the time be better served letting the President review what Congress has agreed to and inform them whether he will sign the bill into law?
Someone tell me exactly how McCain's and Obama's presence in the room saves this country.
By the way, this isn't the first time McCain has backed out of a debate. In 2000, he was losing terribly to Bush in the primaries and he pulled almost the exact same thing as he is doing now.
McCain cuts and runs when the heat is on.
I propose that the Bush Administration pay the bills of every taxpaying American.
This is sad that it takes a crisis for us all to come together. Let's work on prevention instead of reaction
Hey Michael – Obama is not a fake! He is ....in the lead!!! LOL
a stinking photo op
No Bailout. Let the giants fall. Give power back to the people by giving each taxpayer a 1, 2, 3 million dollar stimulus check with which they can save thewir homes, stop foreclosures, purchase new cars, start new businesses, get affordable health insurance and in doing do funnel dollars back into a better managed system. Big institutions will still get the dollars but it will be through a citizen led stimulus. You don't need what the giants have if you have cash. You save our economy and BILLIONS of taxpayer money.
Why are the Obama supporters jumping on everyone- attacking Bill, Hill, McCain, Palin-?
I though everyone wants Obama? I thought everyone knows he is best? I thought the nation hungers for change?
Your attitude implies you are worried- that you realize that words are not enough- that blowing your own horn and trashing others will only carry Obama so far.
Time to pay the piper for that intra-party hatred and division that Obama inspired in all you new democrats.
See if you can win back the democratic party base that you insulted, ridiculed and dismissed.
People tend not to vote for those who demean and deride them.
So McCain can't have a debate on Friday but plans to have a publicized town hall meeting on MNBC's "This Week" on Sunday.
McCain has been known to take more credit that was due in the past; hopefully the media will be objective and let the voters decide his role in this legislation.
I think it'd be a contest to see who'd say the dumbest thing, between Barry-O, Harry Reid, and Pelosi.
Barrack the least experienced in the room. Maybe he got a chance to daydream and continue his fantasy about being president.
And hey, Ex-Republican for Obama – If you'd like to stick your head out of the clouds you can read any number of stories that say Barrack was part of the group that tanked legislation which would have stopped all this mess. Legislation incidentally co-sponsored by McCain. If Obama's the savior, I don't wanna be saved...and neither do any other decent minded hard working people.
Obama – Just talk, just words, no action
Someone will have to fill McSame in on what it says since he didn't read it yet.
What a great photo op for Bush. I can't believe Oliver Stone is actually making a movie about this guy. Well, it is a comedy, and Bush is a joke!
