Palin: Russia's my next door neighbor

(CNN) - Sarah Palin defended the claim that Alaska’s proximity with Russia helps bolster her foreign policy resume in an interview released Thursday.
The Republican VP nominee, asked by CBS’s Katie Couric what she meant by that statement said: “That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and on our other side, the land - boundary that we have with - Canada.
“…our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I am the executive of,” said Palin.
The Alaska governor, asked if she had ever engaged in negotiations with Russia, said the country had swapped trade missions with her state. “It's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border,” she said.
“It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to our state."
Palin has spent the week meeting with foreign leaders in New York, as she seeks to boost her national security and foreign policy credentials.

For anyone who saw Palin speaking today, you should be running in the opposite direction. She again actually said she thinks she has foreign policy experience because Russia near Alaska!! She is an incompetent moron and has never been a viable VP candidate. McCain chose a total idiot for VP. As sick and old as McCain is the thought of this stupid woman as that close to the most powerful position in this world is terrifying. Oh and by the way – I thought McCain had suspended his campaign. Big surprise – he lied again! McCain did interviews today and ran TV ads in battleground states. He didn't suspend anything except his judgment. He is unfit for office and his VP pick is completely unqualiified and unprepared to do anything outside of her mooseville world. McCain and Palin are a joke and a disgrace. Obama and Biden are the real leaders with ethics, character, and with responsible solutions to start this nation on its path to recovery. Suspend your candidacy McCain – you have been caught in the worst kind of political stunt and voters everywhere are outraged. Don't show up at the debate. You are totally irrelevant to the future of this nation. Tomorrow night we can listen to Obama for 2 hours at the debate and you can stay in Washington causing problems for the team who had a solution until you showed up. I just wrote a lengthy comment, but deleted it. It isn't worth it. Anyone who knows a thing about foreign policy knows that this is the most horrifying joke since "Mission Accomplished". Anyone who hasn't already figured that out isn't going to in the next few weeks.

When you believe the Earth is 6,000 years old, when you believe witches are a personal threat to you, and when you believe that being mayor of a small town qualifies you to be president of the United States, I suppose it's not a huge leap to believe that living a thousand miles from an uninhabited corner of Siberia gives you foreign policy expertise.

Reading this just makes me want to scream! Being the governor of a state that borders another country has no bearing on any meaningful foreign policy experience!! The fact that she continues to present this a valid argument is SCARY. In addition to the fact that the portion of Russia anywhere near Alaska is a barren ice wasteland with virtually no inhabitants- she refused to answer the basic question regarding whether or not she personally has engaged in any negotiations,. trade missions, national security issues, or ANYTHING. And anyone who believes this this nonsense as valid should give up their US citizenship!!!
