Palin lays low in Philadelphia, goes jogging

PHILADELPHIA (CNN) - With the eyes of the political world focused on the legislative drama unfolding in Washington, D.C. and on tonight’s presidential debate in Mississippi, Sarah Palin is keeping a low profile in Philadelphia, where she will spend the coming days preparing for her own debate against Sen. Joseph Biden.

After a marathon series of meetings with international heads of state in New York earlier this week, Palin is now holed up in her Philadelphia hotel with a cadre of domestic and foreign policy advisers, studying for next Thursday's vice presidential debate in St. Louis. Her campaign plane, a JetBlue charter, left Palin and her staff behind in Pennsylvania Friday in order to fly John McCain’s staffers and press corps to Mississippi.

Palin is expected to make a brief appearance Friday night at a local debate watching party at an Irish pub before returning to her room to watch the much-anticipated face-off between McCain and Barack Obama.

It’s not all work for the vice presidential nominee, however. These “down days,” as they are known on the campaign trail, have allowed Palin to make time for one of her favorite hobbies – jogging.

Watch: Palin cut from corn

Palin has said she enjoys running cross-country in Alaska because “it thrashes your guts and your lungs and your thighs.”

The governor has gone running with her Secret Service agents along the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia for two days in a row, donning a pink “McCain-Palin” baseball cap, a black Nike windbreaker and shorts, and Nike running shoes. She timed each of her runs with a digital wristwatch.

Her workout on Thursday lasted 25 minutes. On Friday, she jogged a path along the river for nearly 40 minutes, with her daughter Willow joining her for part of the run.

Maybe she should run a lttle more to oxygen to her brain. If the VP debate is anything like her recent interviews, I rather watch the Yankees game than this blow out.

You know I am so fed up with Yahoo, Politico, and CNN being so biased in the news presentation. There is definetly a Democratic slant and it is not deserved. News deserves to cover positive and negative or all news for sure- but in politics you don't need to take a view. The people decide for themselves. Often you pictures and juxtaposes or sociological imply a favor of Obama. If you want him as President just post it and don't think were so stupid a public to not pick up the subtle implications of they way you present the news. The USA people are strong, we don't want to be a socialist country and yes we came to the USA because of Free Enterprize. We fought for land and wealth. McCain stands for that Freedom, Obama seems to want to enslave Americans. You choose shakles or freedom and justice for all.

She also runs away from the press. And she should. Her interview with Katie Couric was laughable

There are calls for her by conservatives to step down as it is now known she is not qualified to be VP. She can continue the jogging in Alaska on the road to nowhere.

What's sad is that Palin has been so restricted from the media that this is actually a newsworthy story for her.

Is this honestly a news story? I jog every morning. Hey, CNN! Want to come to Louisville and make a documentary of me jogging in the mornings? I use a digital wristwatch, too!

Maybe she should jog all the way home and stay there. Closed the curtains and don't answer the door no matter what.

I finally figure out why McCain suspended his campaign and asked to delay the debate today. No one is paying attention to the interview Palin had with Katie Couric this week. McCain is smarter than I have given him credit for.

She is such a great lady! Unlike Biden, she knows how to keep her foot out of her mouth and knows that Roosevelt didn't appear on TV!

Really? a down day could be a great time to see your family if you miss them even a little. The fact that she has proven herself so unprepaired shows how grabby this woman is at the expense of everyone including us.

She does need to lay low and especially, keep her mouth shut. There's enough controversy going on right now without hearing the opinion of someone who knows nothing about finance or debating.

Sarah is a breath of fresh air. At least her flubs are from lack of experience. Joe Biden thinks we had TV when FDR was president. LMAO, over that one. Both he and Obama voted, not once but twice for that bridge to nowhere we have heard so much about. Joe makes a lot of flubs and we know, without a teleprompter, Obama sucks.

Perhaps she's running from the truth. That she's painfully unqualified to co-lead this country.

Palin please do us a favor and keep running, we can call Rumney in to take your place.

  24. Shame on Palin

She belongs to special education 10th grade training camp, except her head is too big to learn anything new.

It's all McCain's fault. He's not qualified to make decisions for the coutry. And this woman has no shame about her lack of capability to run for such office.

Perhaps he used to be smart, loooong ago!!!! They both need to quit. Please help us get rid of them.
