Palin: U.S. should never 'second-guess' Israel

CNN

Watch: In her third TV interview, Gov. Sarah Palin raises eyebrows with some of her comments.

(CNN) - The United States should not second guess actions Israel takes in the name of security, Sarah Palin seemed to suggest in a Thursday interview.

The Republican VP nominee recently said that she would never "second guess Israel if that country decided to attack Iran." Speaking with Katie Couric of CBS News, she stood by that quote.

“We shouldn't second guess Israel's security efforts because we cannot ever afford to send a message that we would allow a second Holocaust, for one,” she said. “Israel has got to have the opportunity and the ability to protect itself. They are our closest ally in the Mideast. We need them. They need us. And we shouldn't second guess their efforts.”

The Alaska governor said the United States should be free to relay its rights our concerns, but “we don't have to second-guess what their efforts would be if they believe ... that it is in their country and their allies, including us, all of our best interests to fight against a regime, especially Iran, who would seek to wipe them off the face of the earth,” said Palin. “It is obvious to me who the good guys are in this one and who the bad guys are.”

Palin spent the week meeting with foreign leaders in New York.

    To Yes!!!

    You completely missed Palin's point.....

She is saying that Israel can do whatever they want, but...

if Israel decides to invade Iran, the US should not second guess them!!

So what you are saying is that if Russia attacks Georgia, the US should not second guess Russia!!

Well, at least we know what happened to Xena Princess Warrior. She may have retired from movie making but she is swinging away in politics. This woman is a nut job BIG TIME. Never second guess someones actions. I guess if they blow another country off the face of the map and they said, "oh, they threatended us" would be a good enough explanation for her. McCain is a hot head and as we can all see he found the best running mate he could....another hot head just with lipstick this time.

Once again sarah looked confused as she desperately searched for the correct answer that she had been coached on. She is an empty headed puppet who is being led around by the mccain camp. The sad part about it for all women is that this woman will be cited for decades as the reason women should not be in politics.

And here it was revealed by the White House that Bush "told" Israel not to attack Iran. Israel was informing Bush, not asking permission, but second-guess them he did and said "don't do it."

Gov. Palin, what say you to that?

Wow, looks like the Mclame camp needs to lock her back up, lol. As a independant, her interviews, and other Mclame activities over the last few days allowed me to make a decision. Go Obama/Biden

She apparently also said in the interview that the worst thing Dick Cheney ever did was shoot his friend with a gun (see Ed Schulz show).

I wonder what crisis McCain can come up with to delay the VP debate...She makes Biden look like Einstein!

And the whole "good guys/ bad guys" comment....yikes...What is she 12?

This woman may know Alaska but I think her world ends at it's border and I'm pretty sure she should go back there and not gum up the national airwaves anymore...

I have to respectfully disagree with Governor Palin. Israel would not even think about doing anything without consulting the United States. They have never really acted unilaterally in foreign actions. We should be working together with our NATO, Israel, Arab and European allies, much like we did in Desert Storm, in a united coalition if needed. Not allowing Israel to go off on a crazy bombing campaign.

  15. McCain for Pres.

To all the people making fun of Sarah Palin, You need to be afraid, because she has more on the ball and more experience than your presidential candidate and that's a fact that should really scare you. Comparing her to Biden is like comparing Obama to McCain, but she is running for VP not President. I guess that's why all you can do is tomock her, but the joke is on you.

McCan't thought that by putting up an attractive woman, that people would not really listen to what was coming out of her mouth...WRONG!

Just what we need in the White House, a moose-hunting, shoot-from-the-hip Barbie Doll.

Do you people posting even know what "second guessing" means? She is saying we should not be getting forcefully involved in Israel's business. She said we can voice our opinions and concerns if we have a problem with something Israel is doing, but if Israel decides they need to bomb Iran because they fear a nuclear attack, you think we should impose our will on Israel to prevent them doing so? To what end? Going to war with Israel or should we just wait until Iran carries out what it's been calling for for decades and nukes them? Seriously, I'm really confused as to why there is any problem with what Palin said.

...and yes, there is most definitely good and evil in the world, you libs all love to use that term when demonizing Bush. Calling for the complete extermination of an entire race of people is evil any way you slice it. You bleeding hearts should realize that.

Lets for a while accept this lie that Iran can possibly wipe out isreal. What does it have to do with America. Is Isreal cares about the U.S economy? Is israeil a part of U.S allies in Iraq or afghanistan. What about Vietnam, are they supported U.S . Please show me an incident where Israeil helped U.S in one of its crisis.
In Isreail there are living people who like everybody else have the right to live and raise their childern. But does it mean that it should be included in the U.S presidentail debates?

You are with us or against us. You can not see that there are two valid sides to any disagreement. That is why we are in such dire trouble. No compromise, no respect for dissenting views.

Another war monger. Maybe we should attack Russia from her back yard. We should second guess any country who attacks another country. What is wrong with this womans thought process? This is Bush thinking all the way. She would have us fighting on as many fronts as she has lipstick.

Firing people who don't support you even if they are from your own party is not called shaking up or going against your party or whatever else you want to call it. It's called vindictivenss.
God help us all if this woman is a heart beat away from the presidency.
