Palin: U.S. should never 'second-guess' Israel

CNN

Watch: In her third TV interview, Gov. Sarah Palin raises eyebrows with some of her comments.

(CNN) - The United States should not second guess actions Israel takes in the name of security, Sarah Palin seemed to suggest in a Thursday interview.

The Republican VP nominee recently said that she would never "second guess Israel if that country decided to attack Iran." Speaking with Katie Couric of CBS News, she stood by that quote.

“We shouldn't second guess Israel's security efforts because we cannot ever afford to send a message that we would allow a second Holocaust, for one,” she said. “Israel has got to have the opportunity and the ability to protect itself. They are our closest ally in the Mideast. We need them. They need us. And we shouldn't second guess their efforts.”

The Alaska governor said the United States should be free to relay its rights our concerns, but “we don't have to second-guess what their efforts would be if they believe ... that it is in their country and their allies, including us, all of our best interests to fight against a regime, especially Iran, who would seek to wipe them off the face of the earth,” said Palin. “It is obvious to me who the good guys are in this one and who the bad guys are.”

Palin spent the week meeting with foreign leaders in New York.

Thinking of the prospect of having more of the same: Look back, where we are, and think how much damage a president can do to the nation per year, ... or even in a few months. Can't afford to take more.

I thought Mr. McCain would be a terrible President to beging with, and he has proven me right by his choice of a running mate. How did she get elected in Alaska, with her poor communication skills? It doesn't say much about the intelligence in Alaska does it?

Many people here say we can't second guess a sovereign nation. So that does that mean we should immediately begin pulling our troops from Iraq since that is what they have asked and they are sovereign?

What did we expect from a woman who went to four different colleges in five years? Did we expect a expert? Not from the Republicans, all they need is a 'R' next to their name. No experience necessary.

    To answer YES!!!

Her answer would better fit your attempt at justification if she was representing Israel, but seeing as how she is running to be OUR Vice President, I would counter with a big, fat NO!!!

We DO NOT let other countries, even Israel, decide our security policy, unchecked no less. To do so would be utterly MORONIC!

Palin is right on the money. We can't afford to lose our closest ally in the Mid-east ... And Iran should be wiped off the map. No brainer for True Americans.

Everyone second guesses the US. So the US should feel free to second guess everyone else in return. Thats how the world works. And..... goodguys/badguys? A VP hopeful should be a little better than that.
