Palin: U.S. should never 'second-guess' Israel

CNN

Watch: In her third TV interview, Gov. Sarah Palin raises eyebrows with some of her comments.

(CNN) - The United States should not second guess actions Israel takes in the name of security, Sarah Palin seemed to suggest in a Thursday interview.

The Republican VP nominee recently said that she would never "second guess Israel if that country decided to attack Iran." Speaking with Katie Couric of CBS News, she stood by that quote.

“We shouldn't second guess Israel's security efforts because we cannot ever afford to send a message that we would allow a second Holocaust, for one,” she said. “Israel has got to have the opportunity and the ability to protect itself. They are our closest ally in the Mideast. We need them. They need us. And we shouldn't second guess their efforts.”

The Alaska governor said the United States should be free to relay its rights our concerns, but “we don't have to second-guess what their efforts would be if they believe ... that it is in their country and their allies, including us, all of our best interests to fight against a regime, especially Iran, who would seek to wipe them off the face of the earth,” said Palin. “It is obvious to me who the good guys are in this one and who the bad guys are.”

Palin spent the week meeting with foreign leaders in New York.

    I love how she defines the world in terms of good guys and bad guys. It is so easy! People who think you need experience to be good at foreign policy are stupid.
    Israel = Batman
    Iran = Joker
    Batman better beat up the Joker. Forget about laws, forget reason too.

    I don't think anyone who uses the terms "good guys" and "bad guys" should ever be allowed into higher office...

    But then she back-tracked....the interview was PAINFUL to watch.

    Katie said at one point "...but you just said they should not be second guessed?" Then Palin stumbled a few more times.

    A high school student could answer the questions with more confidence.

    Palin is WORTHLESS!

    Way to go for the Independant vote!

    Here performance is getting worse faster than I anticipated. The campaign is putting out so many fires (everywhere, it seems!), that probably no one has time to coach her. I suspect they'll tell her the only way to win the debate with Biden is to start crying when he pushes her!

    McCain's choice of Palin tells a lot about him. The repubs are doomed any way. He is looking for somebody to bail out. Nope!

    Dang. She's gonna have us in another war before she even gets elected. Hasn't anyone ever told her that it's better to be silent and thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

    Just be quiet.

    Here we go with the Axis of Evil again. Seems Palin wants to incite Iran even before the election, or is that the plan? Precipitate an attack that Bush feels forced to answer, and make the Republicans look like our saviors again? One question-where are the troops and the cash going to come from? A military bailout? Encouraging and supporting an Israeli-Iran war also means the end of the US and possibly the world. Israel has nuclear weapons. So just keep talking Sarah. Does the woman know the meaning of negotiation and any method other than attack? Oh, right. She's the pit bull.

    She really has an amazing ability to take things, things that I may agree with or may disagree with, and say them in a way that sounds really really dumb.

    Dear Caribou Barbie,

    Life lesson that I would hope you teach your kids..... just because someone is a ally or friend doesn't mean you can't question them when they do something you don't agree with. Your statement sounds like we'll always back Israel no matter what, which is a very stupid thing to support.

    Wow.... Blind ignorance at its best. Let's just blindly support anything Israel does. She really doesn't have a clue, does she? This isn't a marriage. You don't just support your spouse no matter what. This is real world politics with real world consequences.

    So Iran is going to create concentration camps?? What holocaust is being risked??

    Palin can say whatever she wants, but if we're going to send our troops to protect Israel, you bet I'm going to be second guessing everything.

  25. WHAT A TOOL

    If nobody second guessed Hitler's military intentions, we'd all be seaking german. You can't just allow any country to freely do whatever they want because it appears they have "our intentions' in mind. That is the most moronic thing I have ever heard. Pull her mic cord please.
