Palin: U.S. should never 'second-guess' Israel

CNN

Watch: In her third TV interview, Gov. Sarah Palin raises eyebrows with some of her comments.

(CNN) - The United States should not second guess actions Israel takes in the name of security, Sarah Palin seemed to suggest in a Thursday interview.

The Republican VP nominee recently said that she would never "second guess Israel if that country decided to attack Iran." Speaking with Katie Couric of CBS News, she stood by that quote.

“We shouldn't second guess Israel's security efforts because we cannot ever afford to send a message that we would allow a second Holocaust, for one,” she said. “Israel has got to have the opportunity and the ability to protect itself. They are our closest ally in the Mideast. We need them. They need us. And we shouldn't second guess their efforts.”

The Alaska governor said the United States should be free to relay its rights our concerns, but “we don't have to second-guess what their efforts would be if they believe ... that it is in their country and their allies, including us, all of our best interests to fight against a regime, especially Iran, who would seek to wipe them off the face of the earth,” said Palin. “It is obvious to me who the good guys are in this one and who the bad guys are.”

Palin spent the week meeting with foreign leaders in New York.

This is turning into a complete moron-a-thon. Go home to the land of misfit toys and leave national politics to the educated. Seriously...

I've heard enough "O Wise One", there is no need to say another word. Gov. Palin and Sen. McCain would set this country back a thousand years if they were elected.. Thanks, but no thanks!

beat the drums! march to war!

    Palin says:

“It is obvious to me who the good guys are in this one and who the bad guys are.”

So I guess war against Iran would be fine with her. The men, women, and children of Iran can be killed as needed, because they are the “bad guys.”

God, this woman is a sick, sick joke.

Anyone notice that McCain always has a sitter with him – usually Cindy, Palin, Lieberman, or Lindsey Graham?

Senator Obama manages just fine without supervision.

Let’s see the results of some neuropsychological tests. McCain seems to have serious deficits.

She could have done a better job of saying what she said. She's looking at this from the perspective that the Israelis are just trying to prtect themselves. She should have qualified her remarks and said that Israel has every right to defend themselves and left it at that.

    She is right.

The US would never permit ANY other country to second-guess us.

Each sovereign nation has the right to exercise their right to national security.

Other countries can negotiate and discuss and influence- but no more.

So Palin can talk? For about a month, she has been avoiding the press. Her answers are disjointed and unintelligent. She can run but she can't hide, Mrs. Nucular.

Falin's stupidity transcends all and any limits. If Israel will start a war with Iran, it's Israel's war, not ours. We have had enough of this nonsense with Bush and the results are terrible. Right, all our economy needs right now is another war 🙂 What an idiot!

Yes we can second guess any of our allies and what they do, just as any of our allies can second guess our decisions (and they do at times).

I'm not saying Israel does not have the right to defend itself. But I am tired of politicians saying Israel can do whatever it wants.

And no I am not naive about the situation over there. It is incredibely complex. I'm not sure Palin gets that.

But if Israel were to attack Iran, it would be very different than Israel attacking a location in Syria. And if Iran were to attack Israel, that would be just as much of a mess. If either scenario were to happen, this would have huge ramifications beyond the region.

The whole reason the Holocaust happened in the first place is because nobody second-guessed Germany! What is WRONG with this woman? Has she opened a history book in her LIFE?

Do you really want Sarah Palin answering that 3am phone call in White House? I would rather have Katie Couric answer that call.

Israel is a different country from us. If is the best interest of Israel to attack Iran the let it be. Must remember that Iran is an enemy of Israel and is committed to the destruction of Israel . Israel must defend its self the way it see fit.

So let me get this right......

if Israel decided to attack Iran, the US should have complete faith in Israel without second-guessing them!

Why am I not surprised about this comment......

after all, she stated that it is part of God's plan for the US to attack Iraq.

For any true Christian, God is NEVER, I repeat, NEVER for war.

I am also unaware of any diplomatic activities between Canada and the US via Alaska. Normally, important diplomatic relations are handled between Washington and Ottawa.

I agree with her. If Israel feels threatened they should act. As they recently did with an airstrike on Syria's own nuclear reactor.

Obama's response, "Call me if you need me."

Does it mean that we create a 3rd world war because of israel? Lets see she can say Israel but cannot say Iran or Iraq properly.
She needs to first get the Canadians to work with her before she takes her foreign knowledge to middle east. Middle east is totally different and we need to be balanced in both Israel and the Arab world views for us to be taken as good arbitrators in their region.
Her Interview showed her lack of knowledge on foreign affairs and also lack of knowledge on a lot of national areas.

    "Good guys" vs "bad guys".

You know, if it walks like a Dubya and quacks like a Dubya, chances are it's a Dubya.

Black and white nonsense. The fundies love this kind of stuff. 'Hey! You don't have to really ANALYZE anything! It's just all black and white! This is one big game of Cowboys and Indians! It's easy!'

    Pathetic.
