Palin: U.S. should never 'second-guess' Israel

CNN

Watch: In her third TV interview, Gov. Sarah Palin raises eyebrows with some of her comments.

(CNN) - The United States should not second guess actions Israel takes in the name of security, Sarah Palin seemed to suggest in a Thursday interview.

The Republican VP nominee recently said that she would never "second guess Israel if that country decided to attack Iran." Speaking with Katie Couric of CBS News, she stood by that quote.

“We shouldn't second guess Israel's security efforts because we cannot ever afford to send a message that we would allow a second Holocaust, for one,” she said. “Israel has got to have the opportunity and the ability to protect itself. They are our closest ally in the Mideast. We need them. They need us. And we shouldn't second guess their efforts.”

The Alaska governor said the United States should be free to relay its rights our concerns, but “we don't have to second-guess what their efforts would be if they believe ... that it is in their country and their allies, including us, all of our best interests to fight against a regime, especially Iran, who would seek to wipe them off the face of the earth,” said Palin. “It is obvious to me who the good guys are in this one and who the bad guys are.”

Palin spent the week meeting with foreign leaders in New York.

WHen I first read a quote by this person, I felt absolutely certain that the quote was filled with typos. Then I heard her speak (or attempt to).

Wow, try to imagine this airhead being handed the reigns to the country if something were to happen to the 72 year old McCain.

(She makes Dan Quail look like a genious!!!)

It's alarming that she just sees the world as good guys vs bad guys, instead of trying to understand peoples differences of opinion & the root of a conflict.

btw, she said the same thing about georgia I believe. That if any NATO ally goes to war, she will follow – no questions asked.

The world is not black & white sarah!

Someone needs to put a sock in her mouth!!! This woman has absolutely no business talking about anything to do with foreign policy.
Just because she can see Russia from her house doesn't mean she has any experience......if that's the case then a lot of other people in Alaska should be running for VP........

Actually, we should - I mean, since when are we supposed to be Israel's Shabbos Goy? Who came up with that idea? Is it in the bible? Is it the divine plan for the US to carry the whims of Israel?

That's precisely why I hate the likes of Joe Lieberman – He puts country first, 'cept its Israel rather than the US

  14. Wake Up!!!

its funny how mccain supporters get defensive when mccain makes huge mistakes. Get over it!!! your candidate needs to wake up and just concede, because he has nothing to offer us that is worthwhile.

This kind of comment is what you'd expect from a religious fanatic such as Sarah Palin.

Clearly America she is mentally unqualified, and it would be dangerous to have her in any kind of high-level Federal Executive Branch position.

So that's America's new policy? There are good guys and bad guys?

Surely you would feel differently if you were minding your own business and one day people came into your lands and threw you out of your homes... Wouldn't THEY be the 'bad guys' then?

Palin's world view is SO skewed and SO provincial it's frightening!!!

Palin needs to go back to school and study some Middle Eastern history!

    Obama/Biden ---- NOW!

    "good guys and bad guys"?!

Every time she opens her mouth i am scared sh**less. She CANNOT be a heartbeat away from the presidency!!!! Other than rightwing christian conservatives who think she is a gift from GOD-I dont see anyone with a head on thier shoulders supporting her. All of you disaffected HIllary supporters-go beat a hole into your wall, get over it ,and vote Obama. She is NOT on your side. She is dangerous!

Being accustomed to engaging in my own critical thinking process, as opposed to simply digesting talking points, it becomes crystal clear: this woman is in far over her head. Sad, very sad.

    I'm a 53 year old college graduate white male. I'm a democrat.

Why is CNN not carrying the whole story on Sarah Palin? Why are you not showing the Palin footage of the minister laying hands on her & praying for her; the same minister that participated in hunting for modern day witches in Kenya. This minister invoked witch hunts while laying hands on Gov. Palin & praying for her. Why are you not showing this to anywhere close to the same extent that you showed the Rev Wright footage? It appears that you are intentionally not showing the Palin film.

So in other words if Isreal wants to attack Iran. Then we should attack as well... No questions asked. Smart......... so now she knows what the Bush Doctrine gives the president the power to bestow up this nation.

Don't like the idea of Republicans in power, but thanks No thanks an Obama president.

Palin will learn. It took over one year for Obama to learn his stump speeches. Don't you remember how he used to stumble on every single issue?

So Sarah Palin is omniscient and can see who the "good guys" are and who the "bad guys" are. The last thing the United States need is another moral absolutist in the White House.
