Palin: U.S. should never 'second-guess' Israel

Watch: In her third TV interview, Gov. Sarah Palin raises eyebrows with some of her comments.

(CNN) - The United States should not second guess actions Israel takes in the name of security, Sarah Palin seemed to suggest in a Thursday interview.

The Republican VP nominee recently said that she would never "second guess Israel if that country decided to attack Iran." Speaking with Katie Couric of CBS News, she stood by that quote.

“We shouldn't second guess Israel's security efforts because we cannot ever afford to send a message that we would allow a second Holocaust, for one,” she said. “Israel has got to have the opportunity and the ability to protect itself. They are our closest ally in the Mideast. We need them. They need us. And we shouldn't second guess their efforts.”

The Alaska governor said the United States should be free to relay its rights our concerns, but “we don't have to second-guess what their efforts would be if they believe ... that it is in their country and their allies, including us, all of our best interests to fight against a regime, especially Iran, who would seek to wipe them off the face of the earth,” said Palin. “It is obvious to me who the good guys are in this one and who the bad guys are.”

Palin spent the week meeting with foreign leaders in New York.

McCon says he is suspending campaign to save the crisis. Hours later he is been interviewed by CBS. He arrives at washington 24 hours after he claimed the nation was coming to an end and he was to save the crisis. His arrival at washington derailed negatiation. It turned out that he never read both proposals. In the meeting with the with Bush and Obama he was mute. If anyone votes for this fool after the events of the last 24 hrs, you seriously need to have your brain examined. Also lets not forget the Palin interview on CBS

I am a strong supporter of Israel, our ally.
Obama will make a much more clever diplomat than all these simplistic "bad guys-good guys" people. It's Bush all over again: a simplistic, uneducated, view of things, sort of a cowboy movie for the 12 year old mentality. Those views have driven our beloved America almost off the cliff. It's about time we slam the breaks and turn back to what we were, before we become unrecognizable.

Iran has continually stated that they wanted to wipe Israel off the map. They should have our support to decide what is right for "their" future. Obama has stated repeatedly his dislike of Israel until he started campaigning for POTUS. We can't afford to have him as head of our National Security.

Wow...I can totally see why McCain has tried to keep her from talking to the press. That was the smartest decision he's made this entire campaign. Too bad she could stay sequestered until Nov. 5th. This is awful! A Miss Teen USA contestant could give a better answer than that!

We're a sovereign state, and although Israel is our friend, we have to take a step back and ask ourselves if we should support everything they do.

    That's just being sensible.

War with Iran: 3 trillion dollars
War with Russia: 9 trillion dollars
Purchase of U.S. by China and Middle East: priceless.

    Somethings money can't buy.

For everything else, there's the national debt.

Unbelievable but there it is – she said it, and she could be a vice-President if 44% of the country has their say. Yes, Israel is a close ally in the Middle East, but we should not follow their lead unquestionably as she initially said – since when does a country of 300 million differ to one of six million in the name of "security"? And our "closest ally"? – what does that say to the Iraqi government we're sinking billions of dollars into?

I might take her more seriously if she could label the "mideast" countries on a map...

OBAMA/BIDEN 2008 – watch the debate tonight folks!

This whole interview was distrubing, I second guess, my parents, wife, kid's and I even question God's. The best answer would have been "Any threat to Israel is a threat to the U.S, and we know how to deal with threats." Maybe I should run.......
