Palin: U.S. should never 'second-guess' Israel

CNN

Watch: In her third TV interview, Gov. Sarah Palin raises eyebrows with some of her comments.

(CNN) - The United States should not second guess actions Israel takes in the name of security, Sarah Palin seemed to suggest in a Thursday interview.

The Republican VP nominee recently said that she would never "second guess Israel if that country decided to attack Iran." Speaking with Katie Couric of CBS News, she stood by that quote.

“We shouldn't second guess Israel's security efforts because we cannot ever afford to send a message that we would allow a second Holocaust, for one,” she said. “Israel has got to have the opportunity and the ability to protect itself. They are our closest ally in the Mideast. We need them. They need us. And we shouldn't second guess their efforts.”

The Alaska governor said the United States should be free to relay its rights our concerns, but “we don't have to second-guess what their efforts would be if they believe ... that it is in their country and their allies, including us, all of our best interests to fight against a regime, especially Iran, who would seek to wipe them off the face of the earth,” said Palin. “It is obvious to me who the good guys are in this one and who the bad guys are.”

Palin spent the week meeting with foreign leaders in New York.

I WANT TO FEEL SORRY FOR HER.

    THEN I RECALL JUST HOW

INDIGNANT, MEAN-SPIRITED, SARCASTIC, SNIDE, AND INSULTING

SHE WAS DURING HER VERY FIRST NATIONALLY TELEVISED SPEECH.

Why is this woman subjected to idiot questions and then attacked for giving the most reasonable response to those ridiculous questions?

What IS the Bush doctrine? No one knows and no one can answer that.

Second guessing OTHER nations? What Nation would accept such a doctrine?

"Don't speak." My lord...painful to see, hear...just painful. How in the world was she elected Mayor let alone Govenor? I know 2 year olds who communicate more clearly. Biden's just going to have to show up to his debate and smile. Palin will destroy herself.

    Dear Friends:
Palin is not Latino and in Alaska there are hardly any Latino or African Americans for experience with these foreign issues. This is per
    smoke signals from Alaska.

We should be second-guessing OUR OWN POLITICIANS . . . Palin is unable to separate her biblical reverence for Israel with policy decisions . . .

. . . .wow, if McCain and Palin get elected, the Neo-Cons are going to have 2 new poodles to play with.

I don't believe she's anymore doltish than Joe Biden–and let's not forget who is only two heartbeats away from the Presidency–NANCY PELOSI!!! Ugh...talk about a travesty in the making!

As long as Nancy is third in line–anybody in the top two slots will do.

First of all, saying that we should never second-guess another country's intentions is naive, irresponsible, and just plain dumb. Second, it is quite clear that Palin knows nothing about Israel, Iran, or the Middle East generally. Instead of simple-mindedly labeling countries as "good guys" and "bad guys" what we need to do is understand where other countries are coming from, even if we disagree with them. Unless, of course, you just want to have endless wars and conflicts. Maybe she's just trying to bring about the Rapture and attacking Iran is part of God's plan...

I think other world leaders want to see McCain and Palin win because it would be the doom of the US, especially if Palin were to take McCain's place should anything happen to him. Perhaps, Iran's Ahmadinejad may be right! Doom!

She's just regurgitating McCain's stump speeches. Did her photo-op tour of the UN suddenly grant her the authority to dictate foreign policy on matters such as these?

Palin for President! Let’s deny the right of choice to rape victims! And let’s go to war with Iran! We love you Sarah!!!!

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the person that just a few months ago the republican party stated for 4 days the "loved as the best VP pick and someone who shares our beliefs". Take that into account when you vote on Nov 4.

Black and White which would you rather have as your leader. Its not Democrat or Republican just remember what you chose is what you get for at least 4 years, better be prepared one way or another and no throwing fits when something goes wrong with either candidate.

  17. IWASP!-Intelligent Woman Against Sarah Palin!

We should always second guess anything that will put us into war. We didn't second guess our president and look what happened. palin, as a staunch Obama supporter, do yourself a favor and just keep quiet cause it pains me to hear you.

    She is honest.

Can not accuse her of faking it or pandering.

    She speaks her mind.

It is what we have been asking for. Now we attack a candidate for candor.

    A true REFORMER.

    I love this woman.

Sarah Panic is not the woman for the job. If she were a man and said the very same thing, she wouldn't be the man for the job.

The McCain camp handled her stupidly and now she is paying the price. They used her just as they will use the American people. John wants to be president just because. He doesn't have a reason.

  21. Palin Is No Hillary

    Scary!

Please make it stop! The sad thing is that people will still vote for McCain-Palin even though the two are clearly too incompetent to lead.

Unfortunately for the rest of us in this once prosperous country the same people who voted for Bush two times haven't magically dissapeared and are (for the most part) dumb enough to bring us more destruction.

McCain is way too erratic and reckless and Palin... well... I'll just leave it that.

  22. Stick To The Issues.

It's absolutely amazing to me; I am a physician and the things that I hear at the water-cooler are insulting.

The women who call Gov. Palin "Caribou Barbie," know abosolutely nothing about politics themselves (and look as if THEY would chase cars).

The men who insult her (are usually MORE feminine than she), at my job anyway.

The things that they say about Gov. Palin (at my hospital), would be "reasons for termination" if they were said about another employee.

People, stick to the issues, stop the cat fights!

This woman is so clueless. Half of her conservations are jibberous nonsense words noone really understands what she is saying. She is a thorn in the Republican party. The GOP needs to dump her quick.

WHAT? This VP candidate, one step from oval office, is unable to complete a cohesive sentence. God help us all if she ends up in White House.

I am still laughing at the entire Katty Couric interview.

If the Republicians still think Sarah Palin is the real deal, they should play this over and over again.

By the way, If she was elected Govenor of Alsaka , what does that say about the other canidates and the people who voted for her
