OXFORD, Mississippi (CNN) - McCain's scoring points on Obama's opposition to the so-called surge in Iraq, a buildup of forces that McCain vigorously supported.
Obama's argument is that McCain was wrong on going to war in Iraq. McCain's arguing that Obama was wrong on the surge.
Why is McCain so focused on the past and not the present.? I have watched and listened to the debate but he keeps bringing up items that have happened years ago? for me that is the past and I personally don't think he is scoring points as most of the voters now live in the future
I think Obama does better than McCain, so I think I have to disagree with you, Bill
Foreign policy was linked with global finances of course they are both tied on is perceived to be strong on one issue and the other on the other issue.......
Shut up Schnieder! Your trying to push you bias and bigoted opinion on the rest of us who are clear able to watch the debate and make up our own minds! McCain is showing what a lier and egomanic he is...
McCain is an idiot! McCain isn't even answering the question....it's a round a round we go, let me spin my words to sound like I know what I'm saying! What a loser!
Why is there no mention of us paying the Iraqis not to fight? Also, why is John just repeating parts of his stump speech.
McCain scoring points.... Obama scoring points...... and when are they supposed to start debating and exchange ideas instead of showing us their attack ads ?
i have mccain on mute.
John McCain and these stories. Deal with the issues. You would not have to tell these stories if you did not go into Iraq! Liars!!
You win some, you loose some and some are a draw. It still does not change the spots on the leopard.
McCain is doing a good job, and obama supporters would never admit so dont look for them too.
"dishonor" "dishonor" "dishonor" - that's all McCain is about. Well it was a dishonor to go into Iraq in the first place and that is something he can't admit.
I agree, McCain is talking to the moderator, Obama is talking to America.
Obama's strategy of ticking McCain off seems to be working. A lot of jaw grinding and rosy faces.
Obama is focusing on going into Iraq – a vote he didn't particate in because he was in Illinois. Anyone can be right in hinesight, but we don't need somebody who has figured out events he watched on CNN....we need somebody who figures out how to resolve current and future events, somethinghe has never done.
Can we just stop sending our boys and girls into the mouth of the dragon just to satisfy the armchair warmongers.
Obama is a joke when it comes to foreign policy. Simply speaking about what he had been briefed on by his campaign advisors- not experience.
Hey, stop using our soldiers as your 'special' friends................both of you! Only one of you on that stage know anything about serving your country in a foreign land. I am not a supporter of either. But shut the heck up about WE WERE WRONG TO GO INTO IRAQ guess what? W\e are there so deal w/ that, hindsight is 20/20
I am frustrated with listening to McCain speak about Iraq!!! Does he even know that Gen. Petreaus is not the General any longer??? My fiance is there serving and I am digusted with McCain right now!!!
Love the pink tie, Obama.
HEART STRING TUGGING, IS OLD MC CAIN.
Look, McCan't: Didn't you hear what Obama said? We wouldn't be talking about the surge in Iraq if Bush/Cheney/Rice didn't lie about WMDs being in Iraq.
McCain is partially right about the surge; however, Obama is right the war in Iraq should have never happened.
Im curious as to how he is GAINING points? Yes Sen. Obama opposed the surge, at least he took a stance on what he thought was right. The fact that he STILL says that if he had to do it over he would vote against it, shows more character than Sen. McCain saying he still thinks it was a good idea to go to war in the first place!
Maggie,
You are right. Obama is talking straight to McCain ever since Jim insisted at the start they should be talking directly and not through him.
i disagree with you, Bill....
