Schneider: Obama hits familiar chord on Iran

OXFORD, Mississippi (CNN) - Obama's answer on Iran was interesting and important...because he's talking about something that a lot of American's understand:

Our involvement in Iraq has strengthened Iran.

Watch: Obama says there needs to be 'tough diplomacy with Iran'

If only bush had realized that in 2003 there would be 4,000 more young Americans watching this debate, and another 30,000 would have all the limbs they were born with.

Its funny that Obama wants to talk with words, and McCain wants to do it with Laser Guided bombs. Really, isn't there a reason why we are not a nation of military dictators? oh wait.....

The past is the past- ok we get it we messed up we shouldn't be in Iraq. But how is saying that we shouldn't have gone into Iraq a policy? Obama is stuck in the past- we are there and now we need to deal with it. Who's dealing with it?- Obviously McCain, not Obama.

Come on commentators – Bill, Candy – why is nobody mentioning McCain's constant smirking, laughing, and refusing to look at Obama? He's behaving very ignorantly.

Now I think that there should be those town halls so more people can watch McCain behave like a boor and see for themselves the character of the man.

  22. More Issues, Please NY, NY

McCain's patronizing doesn't work. Obama DOES understand: we have to work at solutions. McCain has nothing to offer but to repeat and repeat his own misunderstanding of what Obama says. His theatricality, once again, is boorish and political.

  25. Something McCain won't admit

The surge may have worked. Obama, like a true President, even admitted that and the did not support it. But the fact still remains....aside from cleaning up the wreck that Iraq is in now...was it ever a good idea to be in Iraq or not and is it making us safer or less secure???
