Biden goes home to prep for debate

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Sens. Obama and Biden head to a Detroit rally Sunday."]
DETROIT (CNN) – Following a rally in Detroit with Barack Obama Sunday afternoon, Joe Biden will return home to Wilmington, Delaware to prepare for his Thursday night debate with Sarah Palin.

The Delaware senator’s schedule is blank until he flies to St. Louis for the debate, though he will head to Washington to vote on the bailout package when the vote is scheduled in the Senate.

Spokesman David Wade says the only preparation Biden has done up to this point is reading and talking to a wide range of colleagues, among them senators Hillary Clinton, Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein.

Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm will fly to Wilmington this week to play the role of Palin in sparring sessions with Biden. In a recent interview on NBC’s Today Show she said, “I want to beat him up a little bit, so he does well.”

Biden never talks directly about Palin on the stump, only in the context of the Republican ticket as a whole. He regularly tells audiences he doesn't know anything about her.

"I’m not being a wise guy," Biden told a laughing crowd Friday in Wisconsin, "I don’t know. I’m assuming she agrees with [McCain's] position. I’m being deadly earnest. I don’t know. I don’t know."

Biden will fly back to Delaware after the debate for his son Beau's deployment to Iraq on Friday as part of a Delaware National Guard unit. Beau Biden is Delaware’s attorney general. Palin's eldest son, Track, is also serving in Iraq.

This just in. We can now report that Sasquatch is alive and well and living in Alaska. The proof has been confirmed. The fact that Sarah Palin was elected to the top of the Alaskan political food chain indicates there are thousands of the species living in quiet and remote villages, throughout Alaska.

Update: The manual dexterity and mental acuity of Sasquatch has also been confirmed and evidenced by the fact thousands of the members of the aforementioned Sasquatch villages were able to find and pull the voting lever for Palin in the last gubernatorial election!

    Stay tuned for further updates!

During the first Presidential debate, I noticed bi-partisanship in action.

    1. Obama: “John you were right…”

This shows that Obama is admitting that he does not have all the answers and is willing to listen to all sides of an issue before making a final decision. This is a very good trait to have in a President that wants to represent ALL of America.

McCain would not even acknowledge Obama when Obama was talking directly to him. He appeared bothered and angry that he had to waste his valuable time explaining himself to Obama. McCain’s disdain for Obama was apparent in his demeaning and snide comment stating Obama being so far to the left that it was hard to reach across the aisle in a bi-partisanship manner. McCain came across as a small-minded, petty, angry and bitter old man. Not good traits in anyone, but certainly not in a man vying to be the President of the UNITED States.

    2. McCain: “Senator Obama does not understand…”.

It was obvious that the contrary was true, Obama did indeed understand, what McCain obviously meant was that Obama did not understand issues the same way McCain does, which is obviously the ONLY correct way in his mind.

McCain claims that as a “maverick” he likes to make quick decisions and then live with the consequence. We are looking to future, and want to see how McCain would interact with Obama, Congress and the citizens, we do not want some old story line where in the past you did this with that Democrat and that with this Democrat. Your current demeanor speaks volumes as to your ability to be “bi-partisan” in the futures.

    Question to America:

Do you want to place the future in the hands of a man that makes quick, erratic decisions without research and have the consequences affect the lives of your children?

  13. Obama Change = Pelosi and Reid

America got a great glimpse this week of how an Obama White House would operate. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid (and their 13% approval ratings) will run the Country while Obama tours the world talking to leaders in Venezuela, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Russia, and elsewhere. Obama will also fulfill a lifetime dream of spending the summers sailing with Ted Kennedy in his sailboat. But do not fret America, Obama will call Pelosi from time to time and ask her if she wants him to do anything. This is the change we can expect from Barack.

All Senator Biden has to do to win the debate over Gov. Palin is to show up. She will do the rest.

There is nothing the Republicans can say in these debates that would change my mind. They are sadly out of touch with how the average American worker lives, and therefore cannot possibly represent us in Washington. The Republicans dare to call Obama an elitist, when Cindy McCain wore one outfit at the convention estimated to be worth over $300,000, more than Biden and his wife together make in a year! Palin has a team of stylists, and just one of her jackets at the convention was over 5 grand! McCain wears $500 shoes, owns a fleet of cars, and has a collection of fine homes-do we really think he remembers what it is like to be the little guy, fighting just to survive? Not only doesn't he remember, he doesn't care.
    Obama/Biden-on touch with Americans.

Joe, we forgive you for not knowing what Palin's positions are. I mean, a month ago, hardly anybody had even heard of her.

    Own that debate, Joe!

  17. Another Republican voting for Obama/Biden

Joe, you are an expert. All we know about Palin is she likes Philly sandwiches and she doesn't agree with John McCain. McCain always has to tell people what she meant. Boy, will McCain be busy after the debate. I wish Katie Couric was going to be the moderator.

Remember, Palin would only be one (1) heart beat away from a 73 yeaar old man that has had cancer 4 times from leading the country.

    America can't go backwards. Obama/Biden

  18. HANNITY:

One of the giant mortgage companies at the heart of the credit crisis paid $15,000 a month to a firm owned by Senator John McCain’s campaign manager from the end of 2005 through last month, according to two people with direct knowledge of the arrangement. The disclosure contradicts a statement Sunday night by Mr. McCain that the campaign manager, Rick Davis, had no involvement with the company for the last several years. Mr. Davis’s firm received the payments from the company, Freddie Mac, until it was taken over by the government this month along with Fannie Mae, the other big mortgage lender whose deteriorating finances helped precipitate the cascading problems on Wall Street, the people said.
They said they did not recall Mr. Davis doingThey said Mr. Davis’s his firm, Davis & Manafort, was kept on the payroll because of Mr. Davis’s close ties to Mr. McCain, the Republican presidential nominee, who was widely expected by 2006 to run again for the White House.

Maybe he'll tell the voters the truth AGAIN that Obama NEVER said he was going to attack Pakistan. We saw the debate McNipulator keeps referring to. Obama said if ther was clear actionable intelligence that Bid Laudin was there AND Parkistan would not, or could not, act on it . They are aware of his stance so it would not be not a surprize attack, (Obama said he would inform them so they would not think they were under attack from India) nor is at aimed to harm Pakistan-but Bin Laudin. Palin will attack anyone! She is A RELIGIOUS EXTREMIST, and supports witchunting! Keep her out of Salem !

Funny – the Libs say Biden is such a genius, and Palin is dumber than a rock.. Yet Biden needs to spend an entire week preparing?

    What a joke.

interesting trying to get into the mind of someone we know little about, which is what they have to do to prep Biden on how to destroy her without causing a backlash of sympathy. Tricky stuff.

I know Joe will do well though. The spin out of teh Mccain camp should be interesting on Friday.

My fellow Americans – I still ask you – how do McCain and "Church Lady" expect to begin repairing our economy? Maybe their Neo-Con bosses will instruct them to start another war?

By the way, I ate some falafel from a truck-stand in lower Manhattan this week. I guess that makes me a Middle East expert, ha Palin? . . .
. . . and what about you, Mr. Bomb Bomb Iran? Comments like that do wonders for the US's global image.

What are the chances of something happening between now and Thursday to cancel the debate?

    I'd say pretty good.

Maybe Palin gets called back to defend Alaskan airspace from another Putin flyover.

    Maybe she calls in sick.

I'm giving even odds that the debate never happens.
