Martin: Raise the bar for Palin and Biden

(CNN)–Expectations are high for Palin AND Biden. Many of you read my commentary this week on CNN.com and I haven’t changed my opinion.
I’m tired of Washington journalists continuing to say that the expectations are low, and the bar even lower, for Gov. Sarah Palin.
And the same goes for Sen. Joe Biden.
One of these two will be Vice President of the United States. How in the world do we tell our children every day to have high expectations in the classroom, but we should expect the vice president candidates to not raise their game? Nonsense.
It’s time for Biden and Palin to show America what they are really made of.
Bring it on!

She never answers the question directly! Please do not elect this ticket as anything. I am voting Obama/Biden!
Palin is not addressing the majority of questions.
This is not a debate.
She is just spouting out parroted talking points, but has no grasp on any of these concepts.
Rollin – what's with the points on the dial? You are very generous with your points , does not reflect in your comments.
Boy she is nowehere close to reality. She has no clue on economy . 5 Weeks don't matter , knowledge and or experience does . Biden is spot clear on all issues and is straight forward .

Bar should be high for both. Either could be president!
Palin is not responding to the questions, but gravitates to obviously rehearsed slogans and retorts. Biden's depth, comfort level, and command of the facts is very clear.
Ifill asked Palin about nuclear proliferation, and seeing that she was floundering, she asked to switch to Afghanistan.
Smart move when you're losing it.

I am sitting with 5 democrats here and they are shocked as how smart she is and is out smarting him. Pat that forehead Bidden she is making you look down right well not good.
Palin shouldn't even be on the same stage right now. Biden is making her look very inexperienced on the topics of foriegn policy. And is Rollins watching a different debate, 28 points for palin with only 2 negative point! come on, let's get serious here.

Biden has just run over Palin. Wow, she is out of touch. As a awing voter, I can make up my mind. Its obvious that she has no clue what kind of depth of knowledge it takes to run for this high of an office.

Biden couldn't have smacked Palin pretty hard but he gave her a pass.

She kept calling the general in Afghanistan McClellan. His name is McKiernan.
It is hard to even fathom the difference between Biden and Palin in terms of experience in government and world affairs. Granted Biden has been in Congress a long time but I would rather have someone like him with all of his experience than her with none and just being a puppet. Being a VP, I'm sorry, requires at least some years of experience and to have education opinion you need some form of experience.
Wow. Its soooo obvious when Palin is reciting a speech compared to when she is speaking from her own thoughts. When she recites a speech she looks at the camera and speaks well. When she speaks from her own thoughts she looks away from the camera and talks more in slurs and with a very strong accent.
Almost none of her comments have been her own spontaneous thoughts.
