Martin: Raise the bar for Palin and Biden

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/09/27/art.split.gi.jpg caption="Sen. Biden and Gov. Palin will take center stage Thursday night."]
(CNN)–Expectations are high for Palin AND Biden. Many of you read my commentary this week on CNN.com and I haven’t changed my opinion.

I’m tired of Washington journalists continuing to say that the expectations are low, and the bar even lower, for Gov. Sarah Palin.

And the same goes for Sen. Joe Biden.

One of these two will be Vice President of the United States. How in the world do we tell our children every day to have high expectations in the classroom, but we should expect the vice president candidates to not raise their game? Nonsense.

It’s time for Biden and Palin to show America what they are really made of.

Bring it on!

Sarah Palin is not qualified to be a US senator let alone being a VP.
Does anyone think she can run a big city like Los Angleles or New York?

McCain picked her just to go after the Hillary supporters.
It bothers on naivety for anyone to think Sarah Palin is anything close to being Hillary.

How many people in their right minds will like to see Sarah Palin discussing the future of America with world leaders like German chancellor Angela Merkel, or Dmitry Medvedev of Russia? Can she look Putin in the eyes and make a demand of him to do anything against his plans in the interest of the USA or the world?

Let's not kid ourselves. It's a shame to have someone of Sarah Palin's experience running for VP of the United States.

A 2 year Governor up to now, has much more executive experience than a one term Senator running for President. Clarifying that, but Obama has my support, we need to set a time table for withdrawwal of troops.

is there even the slightest chance that you can find anything wrong with Biden's presentation, just to add an ounce of credibility to your comments?

McCain/Palin NOWAY...Roland.....love the work you do!

Why does it seem like she is talking in circles to please herself? Oh that is because she is! What is she saying? The facts have found her lying all night.

Hi Roland, TLSCK1999 from the morning here. What Ed Rollins is doing on the HD channel is ridiculous. I am leaving this nation if America thinks Sarah Palin can be a Vice President.

She said it's drill, BABY, drill. Haha!! She's a fool! I love how she plays the cute card. That mess works in Alaska, but women in the rest of the US of A don't feel like watching a woman running for the second highest office in the land play the cute card!!

Palin keeps writing her answers down and reading from the paper. I guess so that she doesn't forget what she's going to say. Too bad she doesn't have this stuff embedded in her brain. She's not doing a "terrible" job, but she IS stumbling. she keeps repeating talking points. her strongest point is that she is looking directly at the voter. but this sounds like an extended cut of her Charlie Gibson interview.

Is it just me or does Gov. Palin have a very "jerky" speaking style? Kinda like that kid in college or high school who didn't know what they were talking about and were trying to quickly get through the talking points of their science project.

I am sure everyone heard Palin earlier when she stated that she did not have to answer the questions that the moderator or Biden asked her to answer. Does she know she is at a debate?

Don't she know how to answer a question on her own. If she knew what was going on she would not have to use the cheat sheet for the answers and staying on what she was trained to say. So this shows that she can't answer a question on her own she has to use one that someone else has told her to use. She reminds me of someone that has to take her by the hand and show her how to answer question. Joe is doing a great job atleast he is answering the questions. Obama/Biden the way for a change. Lets show them that Missouri know's who to vote for.

Senator Biden really demonstrates his knowledge and understanding of foreign policy. SP is just giving stock answers that I suspect she has been coached to do.
