Martin: Raise the bar for Palin and Biden

(CNN)–Expectations are high for Palin AND Biden. Many of you read my commentary this week on CNN.com and I haven’t changed my opinion.
I’m tired of Washington journalists continuing to say that the expectations are low, and the bar even lower, for Gov. Sarah Palin.
And the same goes for Sen. Joe Biden.
One of these two will be Vice President of the United States. How in the world do we tell our children every day to have high expectations in the classroom, but we should expect the vice president candidates to not raise their game? Nonsense.
It’s time for Biden and Palin to show America what they are really made of.
Bring it on!

Can she answer the question.
Is she talking about Republican Policy?? Or Democrat?

Palin made a lot of digressions today on the deregulation, the bankruptcy. I'm not impressed with her.
What are they talking about. Can they be real for once. Talk about the things that are going to affect us in the near future. I have not heard that yet. Please, we are very intelligent people here in America. Talk to us in real english please!. Thanks.
Is Palin campaigning for STATE office? Who CARES about what she did in Alaska?
Sure, she seems fresh, but Biden is SO much wiser, more capable, and really knows what he's talking about – if she does well, it's only because she was highly-coached....is this about ACTING or real intelligence and someone who can act under pressure, on the spot, with little sleep (and who can read, analyze, and process)!

Palin just said that the McCain-Palin administration would not stand in the way of benefits for gay couples.
She better tell that to her evangelical supporters. They aren't going to like that!

He seems to be giving clear cut answers, Yes', No's, while she uses more words, that really go around the question rather than take it head on!
Palin is so rehearsed, she looks nervous and she needs to go back to Alaska.
There is an issue of inexperience with Obama and Palin. Why would she come out and say "I have only been on the job for 5 weeks", this is a crucial position in our government. Has she admitted that she is inexperienced?
I am lost on her comment. I respect her, but I am not sure if she is answering the question...
Tell me please because maybe I am too biased, but does she ever really answer the question that is posed?

Palin's not answering the questions. She just goes off on her own tangents. Biden's doing great, as I knew he would.

On iraq, Biden just said, "With all due respect, I didn't hear a plan."

By the way, there have been three questions that she has made clear that she wouldn't answer.
